Lindsay wasn't in the band until right before Hammer of the Witches. This would have been Lucy Atkins on the recording.

@@evdb9588 that would have been Sarah Jezebel Deva. Lindsay started in 2014 with them on tour she wasn't on an album until Hammer of the Witches in 2015. She left before they recorded Existance is Futile in October of 2020.

Her full name is Lilly White Lilith. Which happens to be a song by Genesis.
Cradle of Filth is considered part of the Black Metal scene. But I always thought they were outside of that genre because of the female vocals added.
Cradle isn't black metal. Extreme metal fits them best. Symphonic, goth, black metal, death metal. They mix it up.

They were originally black metal but now they're more gothix extreme metal.

Symphonic Black Metal is what COF fans call them at times. The backup female lead singer Her name is Lindsay Schoolcraft she is no longer with the band do to health issues but she is still making her own music and traveling with other bands. She was with COF for 7 years. I have been listening to this band since early 2004 and they are amazing.

Lilith was Adams first wife. She wasn't a submissive housewife so she got bounced. And she was punished to kill 1000 of her children a day or some shit.😅
Adam tried to exercise dominance over Lilith. She believed they were created equal, both from the dust of the earth (*Eve was created by god by taking her from the rib of Adam, to be obedient). After Adam disagreed, Lilith fled the Garden of Eden to gain her independence. Adam told God that Lilith had left and God sent three angels, Senoi, Sansenoi, and Sammangelof, to retrieve her. The three angels found Lilith in a cave bearing children but Lilith refused to come back to the garden. The angels told her they would kill 100 of her children every day for her disobedience, and Lilith came back.
They began as black metal but morphed into extreme metal - I'd honestly say gothic extreme metal. The album this song was on (Darkly Darkly Venus Aversa - 2010) came out 12 years after the album about Elizabeth Bathory (Cruelty and the Beast - 1998) fyi. They've had several female vocalists or vocalist/keyboardists throughout the years. The one in Nymphetamine Fix was a guest vocalist from the band Leaves Eyes. Sarah Jezebel Deva is the most notable one as she was in the band the longest (only did vocals, no keyboard - you'll recognize her voice from Her Ghost in the Fog.) Also, the one playing keyboards and singing in this video (Caroline Campbell) isn't actually the one singing (they had a guest female vocalist in this song named Lucy Atkins, I believe it was recorded before Caroline joined the band) so to make the video make sense, the keyboardist sang it for the video.
I've been devoted to lilith for going three years. Lilith is the first women. But it goes so so much deeper. I could talk about lilith for hours.

Interesting choice. I've been a fan of Cradle since 1997. I like this song, but it wouldn't make my top 25. I'm on disability, so I can't Patreon anyone, I'm sorry, but I still support you guys. Hopefully a Patreon member will suggest: Bathory Aria by Cradle of Filth. It's actually a song in three parts and is commonly known as one of Dani Filth's favorite Cradle songs. It's an epic journey, you'll love it. I hope to see you guys react to that sometime soon.

Also Nymphetamine female vocalist is Liv Kristin. Dani uses various female vocalists
There is a alt version on the special edition of Nymphetamine with Sara singing that makes it an even more powerful track. I love that version!

I LOVE COF. You should also try the band Carach Angren “When crows tick on windows”. Also great theatrics, symphonic metal and awesome story telling. Other good COF songs to do would be Born in a burial gown, Babylon AD, Scorched earth erotica and definitely Cradle to Enslave.

The thing with Lilith is that there are multiple outside ideas or concepts that act as side stories in Christian mythology. It's just a matter of what is considered cannon and non cannon.
So in the album this comes from there is a cultist by the name of Victoria. She becomes possesed by the demon Lilith, the church murders her and the man that loves her Issac raises her from the dead. The entire album covers this story with each song being a chapter in it. This song is the moment Lilith has full control Vicotria as she is dead and her soul no longer bound to the body.
Cradle of Filth is Death Metal, it's Heavy and they talk about death alot, and for me, Death metal often has symphonic components.
Please do more, Cradle has sooo many amazing songs, they are one of the best bands I've ever heard and well within a lane of their own

I feel like very few people can agree nowadays on where many bands fall under when it comes to Genre, Cradle does mix it up enough with enough different elements to make it hard to say definitively I think
In Jewish folklore Lilith was Adams first wife. She was created simultaneously with him from the same dust of the earth. Adam was a misogynistic asshole who demanded that she be subservient. Lilith however believed them to be equals. This divide showed nowhere more prominently than when it can to sex. Adam demanded that they always have sex when he wanted to and that she always be on the bottom. Lilith wanted an equal say on when and wanted to be on top some times or that they lay on their side. Eventually she got sick of him that she started refusing sex entirely until he treated as an equal. In response Adam decided to rape her. To escape to spoke the secret true name of God, sprouted wings, and fled Eden. A lonely Adam begged God to send angels to force Lilith to return but she refused unless swore to treat her as an equal. Adam, being the pos that he is, refused and instead begged God to make him a new wife. One that would be inferior and subservient to him and thus God gave him Eve. A daughter made from his rib. Heartbroken she would go to have affairs with with demons and fallen angels alike eventually remarrying to Samael, the fallen angel of death. She would later have an affair with Adam and Eve's exiled son Caine and legend says that their children were the first vampires.
The album is Dani's attempt at writing his fairytale in the style of the Brothers Grimm about the resurgence of Lilith into modern society as a deity.
I have listened to Cradle of Filth since the 90's and absolutely love every but of music they have put out, however Lilith Immaculate is easily a top 5 for me!

In some of the earliest myths, Lilith was the First wife of Adam, but God cast her out of Eden because she wanted to be Adams equal and not to be subservient to him.
Later on she is depicted as a demon or evil spirit.
But in the context of the song, I think the name Lilith is a kind of stand in for Elizabeth... As in Elizabeth of Bathory, a person who appears as a theme of namy CoF songs (the album 'Cruelty and the Beast' was all about her).

Also in regards to Lilith she's more important in Jewish texts as the first wife of Adam. She gets thrown out of Eden for refusing to be subservant to Adam. In different subcultures she's seen as different things. For example in 90s goth circles she was the creater of the first vampire Caine as told in the Book of Nod. The connection between her and Bathory probably comes from this mythology. In Christian mythology Lilith is the only named creature that is of a type of deamon beasts known as the lilliot. Cradle of Filth is very good at bringing forth different mythologies.

Cradle usually releases 2 versions of their albums a regular and an extended which has 3 extra songs on it ( usually 3 not always though)

La verdad es que nunca me ha gustado esta banda, especialmente la voz, pero también hay momentos musicales que me resultan excesivamente atropellados.
Eso sí, la unión de la letra + música + video de la forma que la usan (todo lo que he visto de ellos han sido historias contadas) resulta entretenida y a veces hasta espectacular. Y puede hacer que la gente se acabe interesando por algunas de ellas.

Cradle of Filth is one of the bands that got me into heavier music but honestly I haven't liked anything since Godspeed on the Devil's Thunder back in '08.
You should check out the last 3 albums, they've been awesome. I've been a fan since '95 so I've been with them a long time. They've had some less than stellar albums for a while but the last 3 have been awesome.
@@GuinWeaver I'm a bit of a music junkie with no life lol so I always check out new music by bands I'm familiar with I just haven't really dug any of their newer stuff. I started listening to them back in '03. I guess there's really only so much one can do within the confines of a very specific genre though.
