To be fair, a lot of the draw of the first season is brutal action. I still love this second season, but to say that it's beard a little off what initially captured lots of its audience would be putting it lightly. 😅
I’m just happy Thorfinn is finally finding his own path.
Yeah, the show is character driven and has a lot of deep symbolisms, having fights all the time without building og for it to make a lot of sense would feel cheap. I am glad they are taking their time with this. Looking forward to seeing Snake fight though.

There is just something special about Olmar realizing how dreadful war truly is.
I love how this show manages to develop even the smallest characters in a meaningful way

@@Takashii85 I mean, it'd be cool either way. Random unnamed characters and minor characters don't usually get ot achieve much, but that's how cinema goes. I always find it cool and more believeable when some random unnamed character is able to achieve something significant without it always having to be centralized completely on main characters etc.

Character defining line. Love it.
It fits perfectly with the Omar arc on the second half of the season… he used to be a cocky and prideful guy that had a thirst for battle, and his pride almost ruined his and his family’s lifes and farm just because he couldn’t let the soldiers mock him after he failed Canute’s test. He later comes to regret it and to reject war and violence, and he says a similar quote to that when he decides to surrender to Canute’s army. It was some great character development for sure!

Snake is so frickin cool.
Snake gets it. The young master stopped pretending to be a warrior, which ironically showed he had more courage than Snake’s men cowering behind him in the battle, still pretending to be warriors.
This is what it's called: A Vikings song.
Vinland saga wasn't actually a revenge anime from the start. It is an anime about how a person becomes a true warrior.
And what I like most about it is the strong drama and realistic character development.
Well in first season it seems like just a normal revenge story but then in the end of first season it took a completely different turn and i wasn't expecting it 😢. This anime indeed has one of the best character developments. I still don't understand why many people are not liking it just because there are no fights in this season.

@@Ayush-kc2vx i think it is because a lot of people have gotten used to anime stories being power fantasies (like isekai), so they are too used to identufy and side with the protagonist and want him to succeed and archieve his goals and always win, regardless of how much the story tells them how wrong he is. So they don t enjoy havibg him self reflect for a whole arc.

Something about seeing Thorfinn just sitting peacefully on the beach at the end and remembering his father… not as a motive for vengeance but instead to make himself a better person. The contrast between prologue Thorfinn is crazy

The most human anime that i've ever seen.Never feel so realistic and the feelings you can incarnate like it's an own experience of life.The growth of thorfinn as an ideal and pacific person really shows you how amazingly developed are the characters.Truly a masterpiece and really shows you that not everything needs action or violence to be a really good audiovisual experience. Thank you Vinland and thank you thorfinn to show me that there's more choices in this life that doesn't involve violence.

Gotta admit, seeing Gardar in the op got me in the feels, how it showed him how he was before everything went south and his berserker state.
His story is the one that gets me the most, specially when they show the scenes between him and his boy.
SurviveSaidTheProphet does NOT disappoint!! I wish they did songs for Berserk though. 😞

I love this opening but particularly the symbolism with thorfinn. The majority of the opening is crazy or violent and the scenes with him are like him just getting dragged into everything, even if it's no longer who he is, his life surrounded by war and violence continues to always be at his heels. Even if hes trying to seek peace

The character development for everyone this season was one of thr best written, every character had seemless intertwining arcs. When throfinn went through it in Valhalla and his night terrors , I cried. I've suffered from night terrors and I get it

I think the faith conveyed in the second season is the essence of the anime and what the author really wants to express. The anime that incorporates the message of peace is legendary, and the second season is wonderful, bringing a shock from the heart.
i hope people come back for Season 3 because is the perfect mix of what people loved of season 1 and season 2.
remember S1 was the prologue giving no development to thorfinn on purpose, season 2 take their sweet time to develop thorfinn and where he is coming from when he reject violence and season 3 is a journey, im not going to spoil it but lets say that there will be alot of violence and also that development that you liked on season 2.

One of best anime’s I have ever seen
Vinland Saga 2 is one of those seasons where you don’t realize or even begin to properly understand how great it actually is until you’ve reached the ending of it.
I initially was very annoyed by the lack of action… but now in retrospect one of the best stories i’ve seen in recent years. Something perhaps that would also be better to watch it all at once binging, rather than weekly releases😅
The second season mainly focused on the consequences of wars. But it was nice to see Torofin finally reuniting with his family.
