This is just plainly, not true. While they have the same latency, 3600 has more bandwidth per second. Think of ram as short term "memory" for a brain. The faster you can remember it, the more you can put each cycle (Hz) of the brain to use. It doesn't just come down to latency. You wouldn't choose 2600 cl13 over 3200 cl16.
The amount of gain matters. IF you go from 1333 to 1866, its easy to show a double digit FPS increase. When you go from 3200 to 3600 you are looking at 1-3 FPS increase. Also giving the PC enough gigs of RAM can have similar and even better gains, bear in mind that gigs of RAM usage scales with most applications and window's and chrome eats loads of RAM and in fact on 32 gigs and below window's off loads a whole lot of gigs worth to your pagefile for your SSD! So having 64 gigs of RAM means almost no pagefile usage and free's up how the PC uses resources when gaming.

Yes, ram speed definetally affects framerates in games. It also depends what cpu/motherboard/gpu you have. If you aren't GPU-bottlenecked, faster ram definetally helps, it just depends on the game. For example in Call of Duty Warzone you really do need the fastest and lowest latency ram you possibly can get. Just saying. It boot cycles because you need to set the memory clocks to half of what it shows in the BIOS if you are doing it manually. If you run on an AMD CPU you also need to set the infinity fabric memory to the same clock as the memory clock. Usually when you set the memory clock to 3200Mhz the actual ram speed you would put in the BIOS is 1600Mhz For 3600Mhz it would be 1800Mhz and so on.

So I know it's a pretty easy game but for check CPU and RAM speed you can use Minecraft. It's basically only needs CPU and RAM speed so it would be perfect. With an shader and flying in creative in one direction it should be easy to reach some limits

Ironic sponsorship because most omen prebuilts I have seen come with one sick of ram
For 1440p and 4k gaming 3200 MHz is litterally the same at 1080p definitely go for 3600 other than that theres no reason to pay more for 3600
Saved me some money for when I buy the parts for my next [gaming] PC.
nice video. i would love to see the differences with an amd cpu
Explained very well👍
I was overlooking ram on Ryzen 1000, 3000 and 5000 CPUs. Conclusion, get ram kit with max speed supported by your CPU and don't waste time.
Great video hope you enjoy your weekend 😀
Jesus man 400k+ subs been subscribed since like 5k and i also have you on my friendslist on origin
I'm looking for RAM and couple questions have come up for me
1. Is Vengeamce RGB Pro (can be SL) good (particularly for i5 12400F build)?
2. I haven't seen reviews about T-Force Delta RGB. Is that good?
3. If I had to choose between these which one would be better (for i5 12400F)?
4. If there is any other under 80€ RAM that performs as well or better then I'd love to know.
It's confusing...haha what 32gb ram should I get??? Cl 16 18? What 3200 3600??
Really enjoy all your videos! I’m new to PC gaming bought an HP Omen with R7 and 3060rtx but having some high temps on cpu when editing
Desktop? Can you add another fan?
@@PcCentric thank you I’ll have to see if maybe I can fit another fan or maybe upgrade the ones that came with PC
8GB 3200 mhz Or 32Gb 1600mhz
Which is better for gaming
Noice work!
I just got a new 3060 Ti, and my fps wasn't really matching what I thought it would in some games, then I had a look into it and all the games were cou bound, having a ryzen cpu, I know ram speed affects that a lot and just the ram speed itself, so ocd my 16gb 2400mhz to 3000mhz and escape from tarkov went from 50fps avg, to 110 in an instant, while loading faster too
When he speaks he speaks with his whole body too
I imagine this must be what a British person on meth must look like.
Your personality is amazing, I literally lol at your jokes - hello from a fellow Brit 😂
use to be that good ram gave you up to 10 % more fps so what has changed.... is it the mem controller on the cpus or how games are run now or how the ddr 5 ram works now ? or Moby windows made some changes ?
Question, right now my pc is using 2 2400mhz ram sticks and the motherboard only supports up to 2133mhz, but when I check the speed of my ram at the task manager it says that my ram speed is 2400mhz, does this mean my pc is using 2400mhz ram speed?
😢no one answered him in a year
Sorry for being a noob for asking this but does it even matter if all I do is play at 1080p 60fps locked? Because, like you said, it only matters if the game is CPU bound which is usually the case if one is planning to play at a higher fps.
I wonder this too actually. I too play at 1080p 60fps
I was hoping you'd tell me it doesn't matter after my PC crashes whenever I have xmp enabled..
My CPU i5-7400 can only support up to 2400 mhz.
Your link in your description for the 1440p monitor you use goes to an Omen PC. Not the right link?
Nice video! Have a great weekend sir!
Is it true that RAM will have huge impact in the following setup?
CPU: Ryzen 5 4500
GPU: RX 6600
motherboard: Gigabyte A520M H
16 GB 2666Mhz
I just want to play LoL at stable high FPS (180 or something).
But now it decays overtime in game, from average 130 to 110 or something.
Some1 mentioned I have a relative weak CPU/RAM combo. Can anyone tell if e.g. 8/16 GB of 3200Mhz RAM will solve this or is my CPU the issue as well?
HELP!!!!! New pc build keeps power cycling and won’t post. Fans spin for 10 ish seconds than stop and repeat in that loop. No display or anything
I bought
Specs
Asrock B450M pro4
Ryzen 5 1600
Gtx 1050ti 4gb (plug and play)
XPG Gammix D10 3000MHz (PC4 24000) 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4
EVGA 450
WD Blue 500gb ssd
Same case
I’ve tried reseating ram cpu wires and even took out the cmos battery and still nothing
I have 32GB of DDR4-3200 and I'm glad because I got it for literally HALF the price of similar DDR3-3600. I always say that it's better to have more RAM than faster RAM.
Waiting for this video...🥰🥰 we want more videos like this...
Having no clue about PC building your vids have been brilliant, I wish I had watched you vids before buying one. With this in mind I’m looking at upgrading my old system but not sure where to start. I think ram and GPU but not to sure. My specs included any help will be greatly appreciated Processor: Intel Core i7-8700K Coffee Lake CPU, 6 Cores, 3.7 - 4.7GHz
Case: NZXT H440 Case - Black / Blue
Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti 11GB Graphics Card
CPU Cooler: Corsair Hydro H80i V2 CPU Cooler
Motherboard: Asus STRIX Z370-F GAMING Motherboard
Memory: 32GB DDR4 3000MHz Memory (2 x 16GB Sticks)
Solid State Drive: 1TB Samsung 860 EVO Solid State Drive
M.2 PCIe SSD: 250GB Samsung 970 EVO M.2 PCIe Solid State Drive
Secondary Hard Drive: Seagate 4TB BarraCuda 5900RPM Hard Disk
At this stage, wait for Alder Lake and Ryzen 5000, and focus on getting a new GPU at a fair price
@@PcCentric thank you, if I went for a ryzen would I then have to change the motherboard as it’s currently intel cpu. As you can see I’m new to this game and would like to upgrade and do stuff myself from now on.
@@PcCentric sorry have you got any recommendations on GPU that will go with the specs I have so far. My psu shouldn’t be a problem
I just watch your videos because I like your personality
Buy Corsair LPX 2X16GB sticks 3600 MHZ. I have them and they are very fast and high quality.
Can u do a rgb review, reviewing things like icue and other applications
You finished Control? What was your favorite mission, and why was it the Ashtray Maze?
Haha, 💯
Nice video
I have been using 2400mhz ram in 2144mhz for 5 years before i knew about xmp also yes 2400mhz is still slow and the worst part is i payed £50 for a single vengeance lpx 8gb 2400mhz in 2018
I changed my ram speed from 2933mhz to 3133mhz. Now I have a led on my motherboard and can't get into my bios to change the speed.
This video totally conflicts with my years of testings..... idk what kind of weird timings configurations are there so that all speeds are giving so close results, but I believe this video is misleading dude even tho it is 1y old, that's still not enough to justify the results. RAM speed does matter dude and a lot more than what you found.
I'm waiting a few months to upgrade, ddr5 hopefully releases in November.
For me, it confirmed my choice to go with 3600MHz ram in the new build im currently putting together. It would be good to know which 3600MHz ram is best.
As long your cpu support 3600mhz, 11 generation for intel only support 3200 now. If you do XMP tu unlock 3600 speed you must be carefull with warranty issue from intel
Pc centric I’m planning on buying 16gb crucial ballistix 3200mhz cl16 or patriot viper black out cl18 3600mhz for 12700k what do you think???
Just saying. It boot cycles because you need to set the memory clocks to half of what it shows in the BIOS if you are doing it manually.
If you run on an AMD CPU you also need to set the infinity fabric memory to the same clock as the memory clock.
Usually when you set the memory clock to 3200Mhz the actual ram speed you would put in the BIOS is 1600Mhz
For 3600Mhz it would be 1800Mhz and so on.
So I have a founders edition RTX 3090 and a 9 5900x in my system with 32GB 3600MHz. Do you think these all preform optimally
are you fucking kidding me! Do you mean to say that pc centric has a worse pc than you, im literally laughing my ass off
@@andreimihai164 ? No I’m just asking how these would preform compared to other memory speeds with my specific setup
@@SashOkVR 3600 to 4000 is the sweet spot for you

What is the absolute best 64gb ddr4 for Z690 boards? I have a 12900k, latest 420mm AIO from Corsair, 3090 ftw3 hybrid, Corsair 7000D airflow case…
I do not care about price to performance. I want the highest MHz with the lowest latency. This pc will be for gaming and streaming.
If you only care about speed you should go for ddr5
Can i replace my ram? And will lose any of my stuff on the pc?
I've had the pc for 2 years now with one 8 gb ram stick but i want to get rid of this stick and buy 2 new 8 gigs ram sticks so will i lose any of the stuff i have on the pc??
No you won't lose anything, you don't need to do anything, Windows won't change itself due to a Ram swap/upgrade.
so at 4k gaming even 2133 mhz is almost at par with 3200 mhz or 3600 mhz speeds . whoever gets a 3080 or more certainly will not game at 1080p , and at 2K even 2133 mhz is good enough. i really did not see that coming.
Welp, too bad my PC posts nothing but bluescreens after 30 minutes of gaming with XMP profiles enabled, and even when the ram gets clocked manually. Then again, I play at 1440p anyway, so I guess I'm fine.
what about the difference in 1440p vs 4k res
What were the timings of the memory again? Love the videos as always

@@PcCentric @@PcCentric so whats the difference if the ram is 3600 c18 vs 3200 c16? Is there a 3600 c16 in white? Should I get one of the two below or give up on white buy black 3600 c16? I'm on an older cpu with 1660ti and play heroes of the storm and maybe battlefield 2042.

bro, you should've measured 1% lows. Low latency ram helps to achieve more stable gaming.
how about ram speed comparison for ryzen apus and non apus? :)
I have a 3080ti paired with 5950x with 4x8 4000mhz corsair ven with huge stutter.. my cpu won’t support xmp default since it only supports up to 3200mhz ram. Should i change ram speed to 3200mhz after turning on xmp? Or do I have to change the ram timings manually?
