That is so cool! You could just spend hours switching that one area and never get bored! What a mess!! ha ha I can see it all finished up, with newspapers, plastic, Styrofoam and all kinds of junk blowing around in the breeze and all the junk you'd find in a place like that. Can't wait to see the finished model, it's gonna be insane! Awesome work!
I've searched for these box cabs the last 10+ years...I recently found two complete !!...I was about to attempt using the original drive trains but I see the Bachmann 44ton is a great choice for a drive in lieu of the original . Wondered where you got your side frames and would you choose another sound decoder over Soundtraxx ? I don't think these engines used a Cummings diesel did they ?? ...great video ...track work is impeccable !!! Great work !!
It is an amazing model it would be a lot better with NCE control, that way you would not have that studied wire hanging, and a simple user friendly system with a display.
1:20 - is that custom-made track? There is a 3-way turnout connected directly to a turnout, and I can't see where the joins are. It all looks like a single piece of track!
Very nice, Tim! Great to see it operational after all the effort you've put in to it so far!
Great piece of NYC railroad history
Tim, thanks for sharing this video.

Wow Tim, this is amazing. Absolutely amazing. The depth that sound adds is also impressive. It's like watching a Jon Grant video!
Very impressive! I can't wait to see this for myself at the Hartford show!
Lot of work here... Great job.. Many Thanks..
Sir I hope that one day I can create a model like that! Great work!

All of it is custom made track. It was his wish to build this that made him develop the system now for sale.
What whistle are you using on that locomotive.
