+Liangshi Xu e-curtain makes the opening of the shutter electronic. ie. no sound at all. Only the closing of the shutter is mechanical when this is active.
this sounds very trivial but the a7r ii shutter is so feminine sounding. compared to a canon 7d or even 6d, which sound so nice. the sony is high pitched and squeaky.
+wonderwall135 A lot actually goes into the sound a shutter makes including the attached lens. Much of what people perceive as a "better" more robust sounding shutter is actually the mirror slap in a conventional DSLR. Sony's are now either mirror-less or fixed translucent so you lose that sound of the mirror being lifted up to expose the shutter and sensor. I agree that the sound is not as pleasing to the ear but you better get used to it. The mirror in a camera is becoming less and less relevant every year.
I always found DSLR sounds to be rustley, not concise . The mirror is like a squishing where as sony mirrorless is more snappy. just my opinion though doesn't matter haha
I wish I could change the sound of the r2. I prefer the A7 sound better
A7rii like a silencer sniper ... So CRISP
Even noisier than my DSLR Alpha 200!
A7R II is the best!!!
Crisp.
EFC on or not?
What does the e curtain do?

what? open curtin and closing curtain? there are 2 curtains?
@@EnnTomi1Yes, mechanical shutters have 2 curtains the great majority of the time.

No freaking idea... I just held in my hands Sony models... from SLTranslucent A58 to SLT A99, and all mirror less except the A7RII and the A7SII
