Nice Trip Report. Wizz Air are growing a lot in to different areas of operation at present. Their fares are as good as Ryanair or sometimes better. ✈️
Thank you so much! You're right: w6 and FR have a very similar business model, based on an aggressive price competition. Maybe just Volotea has a partially similar behaviour (but smaller dimensions and a fringe market). Wizz and Ryanair avoided to face off so far, but now Wizz is growing and extending its range and the fight is going to be certain in my opinion. For example i don't think both W6,FR and EZY can survive on MXP-CTA-MXP. Let's wait and see. Greetings!
Great video! It's been 2 years since I flew from Rome Fiumicino. Wizzair's entry into Italian domestic routes is an interesting step, and it is also great for passengers. Their A321Neo looks very nice, but the only thing that remained the same is the configuration with almost zero legroom :-D
Thank you mate! I agree, their entry in the italian domestic market with their aggressive price competition policy maybe the most interesting event of the past few years.
In fact W6 is the most likely to FR among LCC by its business model and they didn't face off so far in Italy apart some marginal routes to Eastern EU countries.
So I'm very curious to see what's going to be the competitive behaviour of W6 direct competitors such Ryan and Easyjet (Vueling already cut down its domestic routes from CTA). Even though Wizz chose maybe the worst time in the civil aviation history to delpoy its strategy for Italian market, I find their product very interesting and I think they upgraded their product level in the last years.
The A321 is a great equipment, much better than B738 in my opinion even though must raise an higher LF to reach break even (240Y is a great challange in the msot of the routes). Of course we must wait MAX 200 become operational to make a real comparison. Hope you'll see back FCO soon! Thanks for your comment and greetings form Italy!
I hope too. Yes, it will be an interesting competitive fight between FR and W6. Especially the current offer of tickets for 1 EUR. I hope to try it next year, I would like to visit Sicily, one way by train and fly back.
