i love this format good sir, you are a lot more relaxed and let your humor shine through. the sea otter clip is adorable, hat goes off to the guy that sailed that craft across the ocean.
The otter footage was adorable! He wanted to make friends. The way he jumped in the water and swam to shore with the boys was hilarious lol!!! Thanks for adding that :) Have a great weekend eSysman!
Yeah for the return of ‘Five Minute Fridays’. I missed them as you almost always blow them up by speeding past 5 minutes. Good content ‘Killer Otter’ & all.🙏👍🇨🇦💨
A contraption! Hahaha... Wow eSysman that picture of you! You look a little rough, I hate to say it. These are great stories... laughing about the "dangerous" Otter. Thanks for the Axioma info. I love the look of her. Have a great weekend yourself, too. ❤ Going to watch this crazy contraption video now.
Followed Andrew for a while when he had a mini Transat and sailed from the U.K., round Iceland and back. His boat was originally designed by Tom McNally, a prolific sailor who had the record several times but sadly passed away. Andrew has made many mods and if he can stomach eating the Pemican he is taking then he will likely make it. Andy UK
I remember reading a book in the 1970's about a boat called "Tinkerbell" that a guy had basically built a cabin over a clinker rowing boat and put on a mast and sails and he sailed it across the Atlantic single handed (no room for anyone else!). I can't recall how long the boat was but he had to sleep curled up as it was too small for him to stretch out. I think at the time he said it was the smallest sailing vessel to have made the crossing. It was a fascinating book.
Back in April of 1986, my father and I took under tow a two person sailboard that had just spent 2 months crossing the Atlantic from Africa to Florida. The 2 Frenchmen were heading to NYC for an Op Sail and were sponsored by Timex. The hull was about the size of a coffin where they could sleep at night. We encountered them in the Intercoastal Waterway where they had just bashed in their bow and towed them to a marina for repairs.
Nitpick, because I must: 3'3", or 39 inches, is LESS than one meter, which is 39.37 inches, or thereabouts. I'd guess the "nutter" has built it to one meter. Otters are such fun-loving critters, it wanted to play!
It’s been awhile since I have seen a 5min Friday and I want to follow that with an OBVIOUSLY as you just explained. Absolutely shocked that it was 2 years ago! I have said before that my experience with the sea/ocean is less than minimal and I THINK that the North Atlantic between Newfoundland and the UK is cold, choppy and best traversed on an oceanliner. I don’t know that the oceanliner bit is accurate but it seems to me. Sailing across the Atlantic in that tiny box is mad, though someone might follow in a more comfortable vessel in case of trouble. No clue but sometimes the line between genius and madness is simply the copper base of the coin. I wondered about ballast simply to keep the vessel upright, but loose ballast is another story altogether. No one said it was loose and hopefully there is a locker built into the bottom of the “cabin “. I am elated that I can watch from a significantly more comfortable cabin attached to terra ferma (sic?). Thanks and if you went over 5 minutes, it wasn’t by much.
So, I'm not a zoologist, but that looks like a river otter rather than a sea otter. River otters can swim out into the ocean, they are just smaller and less fluffy and more comfortable on land than sea otters.
Hey eSysman SuperYachts!, I like this 5-minute Friday thing! It's a quick wrap up for the weekend!!👍👍✌️🍺🍺🍻🦪🍤🍣🦐🦐🦞 I like it so far! Again thanks for this weekend yacht⛵ news.📰
Otters are very curious creatures. I've had several play around my kayak when out on small lakes and rivers. Never swam with them though. Might have to try that.
Even more impressive was the Atlantic crossing by Hannes Lindemann in his 29.5 kilo Klepper Aerius 17' folding kayak (and another crossing in a larger native dugout canoe). From Wikipedia: "Hannes Lindemann was a German doctor, navigator and sailor. He made two solo transatlantic crossings, one in a sailing dugout canoe made while working in Liberia and the second in a 17-foot Klepper Aerius II folding kayak, modified to carry two masts and an outrigger. His book Alone at Sea documents the trips, which were totally unassisted. He was motivated to make the trips by an interest in how the human body and mind respond to survival at sea, a theme which the Kon-Tiki (1947) and Alain Bombard (1952) explored in earlier ocean voyages."
That was not a sea otter, which is very surprizing. It looked more like a river otter. The possible explanation is the place is close to estuary so the otter wandered in brakish waters.
I thought that, I have River otters here but have not seen a sea otter other than in pictures and once at an aquarium when I was very young. River otters are playful! Unless they have ¿pups? - young ones, then they can be territorial.
Your bonkers mate, so u definitely British 😂 As an ex trawler man I’d want about 6ft more draft on that keel, but hey I’m not in it for 90 days. Here’s hoping u have fair winds & a following sea ✌️🇬🇧
In the 1970's some sailor's tried to sail the Atlantic some made it, and many failed with the remains of their boats washed up on Iceland , Faroes , and Shetland Isles.
I am going to speculate a bit about the "nutter/genius". He's named that floating device The Big C. Looking at his current frame, be may have lost quite a bit of weight lately. It makes me wonder if has or has had an encounter with cancer and this trip is on his bucket list. Kind of odd, but just prior to this video popping up, I had thoughts of a fancy little vessel and naming it *Nacht-a-Yacht*. It would at least have a comfortable bed and a fold down dining tabe for one. I do have a couple of questions. If the flag the vessel is flying under is big enough in relation to the boat, is it legal to use the flag as a spare sail if needed? In lieu of a life raft, do self inflating outriggers seem reasonable? I also think utilizing a life preserver as a toilet seat could result in some space saving. Oh, yea... mount flare cannons on the front and rear decks. Self loading ones. I should go wash dishes or something now. Reality beckons and I must heed the call.
I watched the 'small boat' video and he has sailed something similar in the past on a long voyage, he seems to have thought it thro carefully but is it sensile to risk rescue teams who may have to find him if he gets in distress and will other less prepared 'nutters' try the same thing! To put a boat on a 1m deep canal in the UK you need a safety cerificate but you can put to sea in a bathtub with no traning, is that right?
With you saying so, it must be true. On the other hand, if I saw it on TicToc, I'd have to laugh. What fools would do to be, somewhat, famous 😳 😅 I'll laugh at him anyway!
3ft 3 inches ??? Hope he’s got a life raft on it somewhere. Jesus some people operate at a different level. I know someone like that, and they genuinely do are risk differently. What a geezer
I think for tiny vesselsvlike that, future records should by displacement or dry weight. Otherwise we'll seeva 1 foot boat with an 8 foot beam and 30' draft.
Newsflash. I live in Newfoundland. He departed a few days ago and it didn't make it out of the harbour before it started sinking.
i love this format good sir, you are a lot more relaxed and let your humor shine through. the sea otter clip is adorable, hat goes off to the guy that sailed that craft across the ocean.

💕💕That otter was adorable... I would've stayed to play with the little fella in a heartbeat😍😍
I remember your 5-minute Fridays. Glad you're bringing it back.
First read as: World's smallest yacht to cross Atlantic in 5 minutes
Stumbled on this channel a month or two ago and it’s becoming a daily or whenever uploaded watch.
I’ve been a subscriber almost from the beginning. Always informative & has a laugh or two as well.🇨🇦
hahaha a contraption with sails, love it,, and the sea otter just wanted friends, great vid e'man fab stuff
😂😂😂 the otter video is priceless. Enjoy your weekend. Thanks!! 🌱🤗
Yeah for the return of ‘Five Minute Fridays’. I missed them as you almost always blow them up by speeding past 5 minutes. Good content ‘Killer Otter’ & all.🙏👍🇨🇦💨
The sea otter was hilarious. Great video as always. 👍👍
Insane but fascinating. Almost got leg cramps just from watching it. 90 days in that is absurd
Suddenly started wondering when space stunts will start entering Guinness Book?
THANKS ESYSMAN, FOR SHARING 😂YOUR HUMOR WITH US…enjoy your weekend, see you 👀 soon 💚💚💚
😆 My name is Gary & it's been 2 years & 5 months since I had a haircut. I'm having a late life crisis. 🙃
I feel almost envious.
You have a great Chanel my brother keep up the good work !!! From Ohio USA 🇺🇸 !!
Oh my beer... 😂😂😂🤣👍🏻
Makes my YT day anytime eSysmen posts a new video, and this one is no exception. Absolutely brilliant channel. Cheers.
LOL funny stuff🤣....Thanks my friend, stay safe out there 👍
Shoe🇺🇸
Poor otter probably just thought the boys were playing a game and he wanted tag along for the fun.
Love this format. Great to have it back

What a transformation. Didn't recognize that other guy in your shirt.
The sea otter story, that happened in Simonstown South Africa, the grey warship with pennant number A301 on its bow is SAS Drakensberg
Damn! What a story! LOL. I'm questioning the sanity of the entire enterprise 😀 Who in his right mind would put himself through such a journey. OMG.
@@fullhalf420 Wow That is way too far in a small boat.
me....
Great video 📹 bring back 5 minute Fridays ⛵️ ⛵️ ⛵️
weeee that was fun, thank you for this, and all you do and have done so far, thank you!
I cant believe it's been nearly 2 yrs since you've done a 5 min friday! Only feels like a few months
5 minute Friday is a great way to wrap up the week 🙌 Cheers 🍻
5 minute friday! in just 8 short minutes
"HE didn't die", the best line ever!!!
You are always welcome in New “fun” land as we like to pronounce it. See the icebergs in the spring in iceberg alley.
I was there in the 90s at RAF Goose Bay!
Brilliant, what a great guy this man is, watch the video in link as it’s fascinating! Great video!
Love the port and starboard markings that's definitely genius.
You look a lot healthier now.
yay, been waiting for 5min friyay
The otter is smarter than the nutter.

Lots a bit of weight too there mate. Good for you.

yep, watched the whole Yachting Monthly video several days ago.... Insane
Old school start ⛳

Hey eSysman SuperYachts!, I like this 5-minute Friday thing! It's a quick wrap up for the weekend!!👍👍✌️🍺🍺🍻🦪🍤🍣🦐🦐🦞 I like it so far! Again thanks for this weekend yacht⛵ news.📰
Looks like a bobber with a sail.
that's a Darwin Award, not a world record!
The Big C just about describes it 😂
The next person that tries to break the world record for smallest yacht will be harnessed with nothing but a life preserver that says 'SS Minnow'.
I can't tell from the video if the boys understand that the otter is playing. Looks like a lot of fun.
I didn't realize I've been watching you for years you have to be svelt and in shape to enjoy a GT car
Sod that ! I have been in bigger bath tubs.🤣🤣 Great video 2x👍
HOLY WEIGHT LOSS BATMAN
Otters are very curious creatures. I've had several play around my kayak when out on small lakes and rivers. Never swam with them though. Might have to try that.
I don't recommend doing that. Otters can be vicious, particularly if their young are nearby.
Nice intro!
5 minute Friday + the number on his polo = the actual lenght of the video 😃

Finally, someone built a yacht I can afford :)
I bet that little bathtub’s quite expensive !
@@redeyedmongoose2963 I bet you're right. Good thing is, you can save money by not having to pay for a crew and fuel. :)
yes brilliant !!!!!
Thats a Cape Clawless Otter and has made the Simons Town marina its home. It also comes onto the town jetty and likes to nibble toes
I think homeboy is going to fill up that 3 ft by 3ft yacht with SICK before he gets a hundred miles. But OOD LUCK and i hope he has fair winds.
Great show. Many thanks. USA Jeff Baran 🇺🇸 FOREVER
I remember the last one:D you lost some weight!
Who was that 😀funny guy presenting the 5 mins Friday 2 years ago??? ;-) 😀😃
Otters are super friendly! Whimpy males!
Funny i remeber that video intro so well... feels like yesterday. Interesting how time perception is skewed
What's he doing for water?
it is still a free world but some people have more money than brains
Your bonkers mate, so u definitely British 😂
As an ex trawler man I’d want about 6ft more draft on that keel, but hey I’m not in it for 90 days. Here’s hoping u have fair winds & a following sea ✌️🇬🇧
He got a cramp and had to jump overboard!
In the 1970's some sailor's tried to sail the Atlantic some made it, and many failed with the remains of their boats washed up on Iceland , Faroes , and Shetland Isles.
Looks like fish food 😆
He's barking mad! No other way to describe him.
Why not just get a waterptoof coffin? 😢
You stand corrected : it is a contraption with handkerchiefs as sails 😂😂😂😂😂 wtf ? Hahahahaaahhahahhahhaa
Life aquatic 😂😂😂😂😂😂
I am going to speculate a bit about the "nutter/genius". He's named that floating device The Big C. Looking at his current frame, be may have lost quite a bit of weight lately. It makes me wonder if has or has had an encounter with cancer and this trip is on his bucket list.

I think its possible to be genius and a nutter at the same time. lol
I'm 5' 4" tall, that's not very .... 😜 Not something I often say, but what a great Otter!
I watched the 'small boat' video and he has sailed something similar in the past on a long voyage, he seems to have thought it thro carefully but is it sensile to risk rescue teams who may have to find him if he gets in distress and will other less prepared 'nutters' try the same thing! Even if he makes it and gets a world record, he's still a bit of a nutter in my book.
Lunacy
It's just UNDER one meter!
3 ft 3 inch is 99 cm. Looks like he wants record as first yacht under 1 metre to cross the Atlantic.
With you saying so, it must be true. On the other hand, if I saw it on TicToc, I'd have to laugh. What fools would do to be, somewhat, famous 😳 😅 I'll laugh at him anyway!
I went in the little boat at the boat show it is very strong
Canadians and Newfoundlanders pronounce it Newfunland. Newfunlund gets them upset. Great that 5 min. Fridays back.
New fin land (said quickly) from the girl I dated from there. Newfies are an interesting breed.
Why ?
I would really hate to be in an Atlantic storm in the world’s smallest’Yacht’.
“A contraption with sails” is my new insult for poorly built vessels including half the gulets I come across.
4 months in a 5 foot boat.. I'm not sure that's genius. I'll give him tenacious.
Why do they go to England and not Ireland? Is there a reason, could a person with sealegs explain to me? Is the sea rougher approaching or smth oO
3ft 3 inches ??? Hope he’s got a life raft on it somewhere. Jesus some people operate at a different level. I know someone like that, and they genuinely do are risk differently. What a geezer
So a man will cross an ocean in a Big C , not enough room to spread out for 90 days. A comedy of epic proportions.
I only have one question about the mini-yacht, but I don’t think I want to know the answer.
Answer is 'over the side', and on bad weather he cannot eat because he cannot do number 2 inside.
very funny.....
Waiting for the Newfies to correct his pronunciation!
He's apparently lost some weight according to the 2021 clip.
Crazy! Why would you go across the Atlantic in such immense discomfort? Is the marriage that bad?
I think for tiny vesselsvlike that, future records should by displacement or dry weight.
Otherwise we'll seeva 1 foot boat with an 8 foot beam and 30' draft.
