I lived on the east coast of England. I went to school with this Dutch kid. In the middle of the night we would sneak out of our parents homes and go stargazing. He had this album on cassette and it was our regular middle of the night go to. 50 years later I can honestly say I have never forgotten him and Vanilla Queen has been, by far (and then some) the most played track in my extensive record collection. I loved Golden Earring. I still do.
Love watchin' old rockers still able to knock holes in the wall. This album killed me in 1973, still rocks. So good to see such a mix of ages in the audience, too!
Listening to the Earring makes me so ff-in nostalgic and sad of days long gone by, can t stand it. Holland of the 70ties and this super group as the music score to it. We will never have our country back and the music that went with it.
Vanilla Queen forever
rediscovered golden earring recently.....wished they had lived in my time zone.......enjoyed them 50 years ago.....and even more now....one of my favorite golden earring songs.
Been listening to this since I bought the vinyl release in 1973. Still have the vinyl. Never dull. Better with age. Especially when compared to contemporary “music”.
Sorry I missed most of their music here in America. Bought Moontan LP in 74 and it was AWESOME but.....they never seemed to tour in TEXAS. So I forgot about them until "Twilight Zone" and then...........until I found this show from 2015. Saw EVERY other great band but am REALLY happy I finally caught this awesome show! Best wishes to George and the rest of the fellas...
Oh but you are so wrong. I saw them in the 70s twice a Dallas county convention center and again at the convention center when they played for KZEW and Zoo world. I even remember them being in studio on KZEW in the 70s where we learned they could sing in English but speaking it was a different matter at the time. I believe it was Charlie Jones who had them on. Yep they played Texas
This song got zero air play until a few AOR radio stations began playing it to play something other than Radar Love. I think they weren't as big in the US primarily because of the language thing, which I understand they got much better speaking English as time went on. It's really hard for a band to tour a lot in the states with not many American hits, and without just a ton of label support which it didn't appear they got a lot of.
When I was 9-12 (57 now) they were my favorite band. I have an original-cover Moontan...and along with Switch, & To The Hilt...those were my 3 fav LP's. My bro-in-law said they were unreal live back then, and he's a truly great drummer.
Oh your the lucky guy who had it on vinyl. I played an 8 track that I repaired until it was unlistenable. Who dreamed up 8 tracks anyway? Did they really expect the damn things to last longer than six months? Hit a bump going down the road and the deck would start eating the tape and you had to fish it out of the head and hope the tape wasn't folded to much where you didn't have to cut and splice it. People who weren't around have no friggin clue what I'm talking about, but I bet you do. Next trip to the past we will cover FM converters. Lol
WOW!! I have to agree so much with the comment that Radar Love was the worst song on the album. The entire Moontan album is great and I always thought that Radar Love - as great as it is - was the weakest song on the album. This is a rare 5 star album and 5 star every song album. I was 16 years old when I bought this 8 track and I played it over and over in my very first car.
No, not all original. Of the band that started in '62 - they were massive in the Netherlands (still are), only bassist Rinus Gerritsen and guitarist George Kooymans are here. Barry Hay was with them by '67 and Cesar Zuiderwijk on drums came on on the 'Golden Earring' album (also known as 'The Wall of Dolls'), circa 1970. But in terms of 'original' since 'Radar Love', yes. This is the first single I got of them...'65, I think, whilst on holidays in their home town of Den Haag. ua-cam.com/video/ipYF2J207ls/v-deo.html

I KNOW WHAT YOU MEAN WE DIDN'T KNOW HOW GOOD WE HAD IT. WE JUST KNEW MUSIC WOULD BE ABOUT THE BEST.
SADLY POPULAR WON OUT.
Listening to the Earring makes me so ff-in nostalgic and sad of days long gone by, can t stand it. Holland of the 70ties and this super group as the music score to it. We will never have our country back and the music that went with it.
This is the best f***ing band ever. And this has always been one of my favorite Golden Earring songs.
This. And Candy's going bad
One of the greatest songs. Ever. What’s your name honey !!
Vanilla Queen forever
45 years after its release and both the song and band are still fresh.
Amazing. They play and sing this with passion. like Golden Earring is still in their 20's on stage.
Great Composition ! Thank You GOLDEN EARRING ... All Time Great Band !!! ♦️

Simply outstanding. My favorite version of this song is from 1982 Rockpalast but this is pretty outstanding as well.
Great album. Been listening to it for 40 + years now.
Wow. Blown away by Moontan at it's release, and still blown away today.

Same Here
The soundtrack of my youth
Who's still listening to 'Earring' in 2022?

Me in 2024

Super Band Danke fürs hochladen. Ich wünsche George alles gute. Du schaffst das.

one of the very few bands with a multi generational fan base
they are still no match for any existing band on stage in a live context. greatest band ever apart from the grateful dead, wich i love to death.

This is my favorite GE song.

Those old boys tearin up the house like no ones business and making the young musicians cry.
So sad about George.
best song from golden earing
Everything on Moontan was incredible. You know it's a mindblowingly good album when "Radar Love" is the worst song.
100% agree
True !!!!
Well-put.
awesome song takes me back to my young ages
fantastic drumming
Absolutely mind blowing!
one of the best psychelic songs ever!!!
Very underrated band. I listened to them all the time in the 70's. Same with bad company.

Argon Two totally different awesome Bands.
Both triggered by the Beatles 😄
NO WAY COULD I GUESS THE TIMES I'VE PLAYED THIS ALBUM. THOUSANDS.
Oh your the lucky guy who had it on vinyl. I played an 8 track that I repaired until it was unlistenable. Who dreamed up 8 tracks anyway? Me too. It has to be the five track original UK release though. What a album and a beautiful gateway cover. Epic.
Lovely fellows. Brilliant!
They invented Cool.
Most underrated band in the 70s. They were ahead of their time. Vanilla Queen,, one of my all time favorites.
What a fantastic cut thiis is! DAYUMMM!
shocking news today - thoughts are with George
The tour for the album was in quadraphonic via the who being there mates & recording company
this band plays musics.
Fantastic on headphones

Just FN GREAT. My first 8 track.
Greatest band ever.
Nothing beats GE at Rockpalast.
With Barry on a sort of lead! Great.
Love this B.AN.D
Cesar Zuiderwijk is one of the most preternaturally handsome men to ever walk the earth. As a hetero male, I have to hope he had some daughters.
Probably the most underrated drummer in the world
Hé have.
Selma Zuidewijk
They opened for Rush
Saw them at a college they played alone. When this album came out. Place was blown away.
All original members very rare

Is this about Hookers?
No, in fact it's about Barry's mother😊
@@badintruderreally?, fascinating, I thought it was about Marilyn Monroe.
@@KellyClement about his mother who was a dancer 😊
