While I do think the harmonies are beautiful and the people who voiced them are extremely talented, there's something about just the beautiful voice of this woman combined with the piano alone that really intrigues me. It's just so.. small and simplistic that makes it perfect by itself.
Second duet knew exactly what the assignment was in terms of dynamics. I heard her note choice coming and the volume she'd need to not over power and and she gave it exactly that
I’m not afraid to admit that music can make me openly weep, but this is on another level entirely. The first thought that came to mind was “This would be a nice song to die to…” Like this is the good ending. I made the world just a little bit better. I did good here. I can rest now. Hearing this song makes me believe I can earn those final thoughts. That it’ll have mattered in the end. And it reminds me that I have a long road ahead of me.
Props to the french horn, honestly an under utilized brass considering its fluffy but bold sound. Could use a clarinet to add some fluttering and a few low backing vocals to fill it out if she decides to bring it from piano to fortessemo!
i’m not a music nerd by any chance, but i’m so used to hearing brass instruments in epic soundtracks that this use of one is very weird, but very warm and calming.
@@TheLais17 You'll always hear a french horn when it needs to be full, but light! They are the sweetest of brass :D and when played full, they can bring about a foreboding feeling of magesty in nature! a clarinet would sound so good! but the french horn does sound fantastic in this video, it does surprise me to hear a brass instrument in a song like this but i only play the piano, guitar and clarinet so i don't really look into brass too much xD

@@laurencewilliams6489 That's your preference, not mine. His part's brilliance lies on the harmony. The horn was more of a texture thing, and a countermelody thing--which I liked alot.
This song reminds me of the emotional impact that such a beautiful song can bring to a human , and how others can add their talents to grow the songs beauty with each adjustment.
This is just stop-you-in-your-tracks beautiful. I'm shocked at how three strangers who did not work together on this at all sound like they were skillfully handpicked because of well their voices compliment each other. Seriously, the three voices together was just meant to be. I am blown away by the dynamics - the moments where the voices just let there be some tension. The moments where they barely whisper. They flow together perfectly.
When I saw the French horn, I was nervous it would be too loud, but the second the first note was played I got chills and audibly gasped. This sounds freaking magical.
One of the most beautiful things I've ever heard. I'm literally sitting here crying my little eyes out. The first singer has hints of Judy Garland in her voice near the end of the song. Thank you SO much to all of you for creating such a gift.
Wow. Did she ever release a full version? Alot if people try to mimic a time period and just can't quite nail it. And here she just knocks it out of the park. I would easily believe this came out in the 40s or 50s. Brava.
After you take vocal lessons. These people have trained hard to master their tone and timbre and learned vocal techniques and found the style that fits them best
they're all so good! I'd already heard the first 2, but first time hearing the french horn one. The player is SO good! I love her harmonies and her tone is absolutely beautiful. I love her dynamic on that last long-held note too, fading back just enough so we hear that lovely swell from the singer
this gives me comfort in a way, and a sense of what I’m doing. im a big liar, and it’s always to protect myself, to be liked, to get out of trouble. they start to grow, even onto my chest like winding, as it becomes tighter. why do you lie. why? ask yourself this. is it to protect yourself? to get out of trouble? so people like you? just because your afraid to show you? let this be a lesson. dont take big ambitions to do big things and don’t be a big liar like me. i need a hug
I’m a year late and things have probably changed, but oh well I understand why you lie, I understand the feelings you have at that moment. I have a similar feeling but it’s not lying. I crave attention, I need praise even though I do not seem like I appreciate it, whenever I make a tiny mistake I shut myself away. What everybody thinks of me is incredibly affective to my personality and ways of thinking, I have a sense of pride, yet I also resent myself for doing so. I just finished reading "The metamorphosis" by franz kafka, and I don't know but I remember Gregor Samsa's tragic life story in this song. I feel like this is the song he plays in his head before his death-a song filled with warmth, a feeling he yearned the most as he never felt it the entirety of his adult life.
Actually that's a French horn! They're like trumpets bougie cousin. You actually hear them a lot in "Grand/Triumphant/Hero" music or, alternatively "Soft/Romantic" pieces like this one! I don't play brass but I've always had a soft spot for French Horn. Have a great day! :)
I love this. I love your voice and the softness that carrys in your voice and especially how it gathers so much more weight and meaning with the arrangement of beautifully selected words to convey our worlds unspoken emotions. It's beautiful and I feel two things now. That you are never thanked enough for sharing this gem and that I know not enough people have ever heard this. It's beautiful, thank you. Thank you so much!
Honestly, the first version was absolutely primo and was perfect on its own, but every addition is simply another level of heaven on my way up.
This is my thought exactly, I kept thinking, it can't get better than that, and then it did. Just continued to get better and better.
While I do think the harmonies are beautiful and the people who voiced them are extremely talented, there's something about just the beautiful voice of this woman combined with the piano alone that really intrigues me. It's just so.. small and simplistic that makes it perfect by itself.
This sounds like it belongs to a scene from a 50's romance where the characters and story are winding down. Beauty.

it has the D I S N E Y M A G I C

Very Tennessee Williams in the beginning

How their harmonies get tangled during 2:12 "hand" and 2:33 "need" is an unexpected beauty that is hard for me to describe.
The feelings they invoke touch very deep into my heart
when they get super clustered it just hits different

The one with the horn is just absolutely perfect, and that's not because of bias as a brass player.
