im so impressed by the restraint they have. so many tiktok duets end up burying the original artist but these were all so minimal and beautiful that it left her some space. it was wonderful
I think I could have used just a little more of the sax for the sake of a more cohesive piece, but only if it was more ambient. Like maybe if he stepped away from the mic a bit. The drummer was excellent too, but a touch too loud
As a musician, this is the kind of thing I love about Tik Tok. People can have literal online jam sessions with amazing musicians they've never met and I think that kind of connection within the community is beautiful.
If I ever went to a jazz club and heard this at midnight, I would probably space out and just have the time of my life, because I love night time jazz clubs so much
I spend my free time on some weekends going to local dive bars. One of them, The Green Lady Lounge, has live music every night. You can hear some AMAZING bands there.
@@ldp1016 Well it’s the fact that drums are the foundation which usually come first to keep tempo, now with other instruments playing in their own flavor with swings and stuff, the drummer has to adjust as best he can to keep it uniform. Whereas if the drummer started it off, everything will be aligned
Same here. Given I have an entirely different voice and range than these people. The little decorations make it sound fancy and hard which it is. But it's hard to do decorations with a bass voice since it basically feels like dragging a cannonball on your voice while singing.
@@doormatcat i kinda know how you feel, i would also like to do some things that sadly just dont work with my voice. but i just want to spread some bass love, because i noticed that what separates a good vocal arrangement from an excellent one is the BASS. also, check out the Unforgettable Gala version of nobody like U. riffs and runs are nice, but imo what made the song 1000 times better was the bass at the end. so dont be sad, you have your own strengths!!
Ok those harmonies at the end were amazing. I thought a second harmony would be too much but that last guy blended so well with them I wasn't mad one bit
Learning uke and singing def gave me a run for my money as I was NOT ready for the metaphorical rub belly pat head that you needed to do proper stumming and keeping on point with chord changes on key words. This is skill.
I really like that they keep her as the main singer in this duet chain, and they let her do her thing until its actually appropriate to come into the mix, its just kind of beautiful to see the respect these musicians show each other
Honestly incredible. Tik Tok may be a heaping pile of copying, low effort, unfunny garbage and dance videos, but when you look hard enough there’s some genuinely great stuff. And the amount of collaboration you can do with it is awesome.
The vocals and guitar playing is very smooth.everyone did great. I was very impressed on how the 2 guys at the end added harmony to the girl singing and didnt try to out sing her.
I'm not crying - my eyes are just embarrassed to be in a head that THOUGHT it had any musical talent at all, ever. ♥️♥️♥️ THIS is what the internet was made for, and I thank you.
Whoa! I liked the video when it was only the lady singing. I was not ready for that magic. It’s right here for us all to see. When humans work together we can perform breathtaking feats. BRAVO to all of these artists!
I love this because usually the drums go crazy there are at leased like 5 electric bass and 3 pianos and slowly it gets this whole nother vibe and than the singer gets replaced than that next singer does too, to “fit the vibe” and it turns into a blob

Yes, the sax dude had A LOT of restraint
Yeah sax often plays over everyone else
Yeah thats awesome, they just need a better way to adjust the volume of eachothers clips, then it's perfect
Right??? This is amazing

This is the reason they should change it back to musically.
there are good stuff and also , there bad stuff if you go deep enough in the algorithm

Cheers to the saxophone player for not doing too much to leave some space and let the music breathe

that’s also where the saxophone plays in the original song which is cool

but.. imagine hearing this live in a restaurant 🥺

Hardest job went to the drummer for keeping the tempo steady when there were some dragging
yea the drums weren't needed in my opinion

She actually switches to playing a swung rhythm in the chorus and the drummer played it straight, that’s why it sounds off
