Uzumaki | Spiral | Manga | Immersive Atmosphere

Our Immersive horror soundscape takes you into the world of Uzumaki or Spiral (Japanese: うずまき): a seinen horror manga series written and illustrated by Junji Ito. Spiral tells the story of a city plagued by a curse of spirals. This is the horror found in an everyday shape or pattern - as the curse progresses, the bodies of the residents contort into spiral shapes - some turning into snails - others getting tangled with the limbs of their neighbors.
Appearing as a serial in the weekly manga magazine Big Comic Spirits from 1998 to 1999, the chapters of Spiral were compiled into three bound volumes by Shogakukan and published from August 1998 to September 1999.
This soundscape makes the perfect accompaniment to any read along with the Spiral book - or if you are simply looking for an unsettling atmosphere to accompany a book or game - we have you covered.
I love making soundscapes for books that have brought me great joy over the years. As a huge Junji Ito fan, this one was a particularly fun experience to make and I really hope that others get as much pleasure listening as I did in creating it.
