    Starting the video with you sitting down with a sigh made me think I was watching the Nishquik Pops apology video

    Very true about the leaks. You dont even have to look for them. They're just right in your face now. The Switch 2 reveal to me just felt like they showed it because of all the leaks so they gave a little teaser for now.

    A few things I would have changed for the trailer, from most to least important:
    - Before showing Mario Kart X or whatever, show 3rd party people know to reassure them on the power of the console, like Elden Ring and FF 7 Remake. then only Mario Kart, to avoid stupid comments
    - first part of the trailer, make it slightly shorter. we all know what it looks like. and I' not just talking about leaks, even if you didn't see them, it's the switch again. so focusing on the small changes makes sense, but keep it short, no need for 2 whole minutes. and it'd also compensate the time added to the trailer with the first point, to keep the 2:22 length, which is funi
    - Make the trailer have just a bit more personality. it was kinda boring in HOW stuff was shown.
    - Maybe tease stuff we DIDN'T know from the leaks? Like the C button or the UI. or the pro controller at the very least. and maybe show multiple colour variations at the end to reassure people who definitely prefer the colorful version

    honestly since this was just the switch 2 all along, the leaks definitely impacted the surprise that would come from a reveal. but its not as bad as it could be because its simply an iteration of a familiar concept. if it was a whole new concept then the leaks wouldve ruined it fully, but just a switch thats bigger and sleaker? kinda expected regardless. like i watched a few reactions from casual people who didnt hear about any leaks, and it was more of a 'that's it?' surprise rather than a 'WOAH WHAT??'.
    the leaks made this hype cycle a fun journey overall, but couldve been easily avoided if nintendo didnt drag out last year

    I agree with your thoughts. Nintendo should have released the recent teaser back in September. They left it too long and enabled the rumour mill. As for new games, not knowing much about them is fine. The short term marketing campaign strategy has worked wonders for them with Switch 1 titles, makes sense to keep the same strategy with Switch 2.

      Yeah I wish we got a reveal earlier to avoid all this 😓 And tbh April isn't too far away and we'll probably hear from some 3rd parties soon!

    I do think that Nintendo should have said something sooner on Switch 2, and they should have expected the leaks as well if they weren't gonna say anything... which is exactly what happened. It's all said and done now, so next station is that glorious Switch 2 Direct! 🎉

    I see your points, but I don't know that if we saw the switch 2 earlier we would also have it released early, a console release is very different from a game one, apart from polishing the system even more, release stock is very important as well. One thing they could've done better it's showing more games on the reveal like you said, third party ones, but my guess it's that we will more games reveals even before the switch 2 direct, just to confirm some.
    As for the leaks, it's sad that even if you didn't want to see them (in my case) people didn't make that easy, despite having seen them I'm excited about the console. Also, I don't know if those who leak it will have any more companies working with them, because what they did isn't very professional.

    The leaks did spoil everything but when the switch 2 direct happens on April the 2nd everything will change.

  • @cheenuchari

    I see where you are coming from. While I do agree they should've revealed it a bit earlier to mitigate spoilers and keep it as a surprise. I guess it was because they wanted to ensure they are able to get enough sales of Switch 1 (in spite of the decline). That said, I was dubious about the rumors and claims that they are legit because I didn't want to get my hopes up too much. Moreover I couldn't imagine the mouse function on the joy cons and how it would work. Once I saw the reveal trailer, I actually felt relieved because now it is legit and coming straight from Nintendo and I am really excited for what I am seeing. But yeah in the future, Nintendo better be much more tight-lipped and have rules of not showing accessories from third parties before reveal and all that.

    I don’t think they screwed up. They did fine. They showed us they the heaviest hitter and the official hardware. OBJECTIVELY, it’s great. Now if you were expecting to see something crazy like let’s say Monolith’s new IP then yes it would be very undewhelming

    The leaks definitely kinda hurt the hype but overall I think they way Nintendo announced Switch 2 was brilliant, reveal the system in a way people don't get confused. And have us get ready for their April 2 direct, this is almost exactly how they revealed Nintendo switch by the way.

  • @charlestrudel8308
    @charlestrudel8308 9 днів тому

    to be fair, it was not just not many, it was literal just 1 tease of a game. (the only thing in the trailer that was somewhat more interesting beside the music choice (that song wouldnt have been such a bop from any other company) was the mouse joycon acting like mice)

  • @Ontos99

    I agree that while the leaks might have soured us on the hardware reveal, the lack of games with only a safe MK9 footage is simply lacking for a device we've been waiting for YEARS
    And it is not like the direct is in 30 days. We still need to wait 3 months.
    This only puts more pressure on the April direct. The expectations are high. No one will give Nintendo any slack if they dont put their A game this time to this presentation

    • @nishquikpops
      @nishquikpops  9 днів тому

      Yeah the MK9 footage is cool if you really look at it. But at least one other 3rd party game would've been nice to see.

    I think for me, steak deck made switch irrelevant. Nintendo had a chance to regain relevance with this trailer and they blew it. I am optimistic that when we see the games I will be first in line to get the switch 2, but I’m definitely not there yet.

      Let's call a spade a spade, only reason why you think so probably cuz you aren't interested in Nintendo first party games and wanes to play your steam library games on the go. So if that's the case then yeah I can see that.

      @@Mario123007 I love Nintendo first party games! I’ll absolutely pick up Xenoblade X in March. But there aren’t any games besides that one that I personally want to play. Next Zelda is years away. No Pokemon last year. No fire emblem last year. No new Mario kart in over a decade. It’s just been slower for Nintendo and yes you’re right, there are many other non Nintendo games out there to enjoy while Nintendo gets out of this lull.

      @@Mario123007 we are but it’s been over a decade. I’m talking about how recently switch has had a weak line up. I feel like we’re talking past one another. I love Nintendo, it’s just been a weak year for them.

    Could have the reveal and impact be a lot better? Yes
    Should Nintendo learn from this going forward? Also yes
    Will Nintendo Switch 2 still do well and provide lots of banger games in the generation? Yes
    It’s a rocky start for sure, and I agree to many’s disappointment about its reveal, but at last the console has been announced, and we can relax, among also 3rd party developers can also breathe as well
