His music gets me every time, i somehow always end up at ben howard. He's where i go when i'm happy, sad, lonely no matter what i'm feeling his music gets through to me, you can just feel every word and emotion. It takes me to a different place like nothing else can. His music is something special and touching, something i'm attached to. When i listen to him there is nothing else, his music fills me up and it solves everything, just for that moment. This seems like just a long rant, but if you close your eyes and really listen, you'll understand where i'm coming from.
I genuinely think that this is one of the greatest love songs. Forgetting where you are, being with someone, feeling that you don't have to worry about time passing because you are sharing it with someone.
Unfortunately it's in the sense of forgetting how lucky you are to be where you are. You get complacent, you are distracted, you don't pick up the little beautiful things. "Skipping dancing eyes at the bedroom door", "I wasn't listening",
This is one of those epic performances that makes the hairs on the back of your neck stand up - Ben is the real deal when it comes to making musical art - Such a beautiful song of love and pain - it moves me to tears and if you can't feel it then check to see if you have a heart...
Goddammit, that's how my summer passed... she was in the kitchen, I didn't always listen that closely because she talked a lot. It felt like peace at last. Now she's gone to chase that greener grass. I've almost forgotten how close we were. It's amazing how something so deep can end so quickly.
I can never understand how things with any amount of depth or truth can actually leave us. I always wonder why we chase these things all our lives and yet find ourselves giving it the opportunity to walk out on us before we even know it
Спасибо за твою историю, добрый человек. Дай бог, чтобы если и не в этой, так в другой жизни, мы наконец-то поняли, насколько же ценно, когда "она слишком много говорит на кухне", и как же нам это, на самом деле, необходимо для счастья.
+nawie89 You used the term correctly. Robert was just being a pedantic so and so ... insinuating that you didn't discover him as though you are someone from the music industry. But you discovered him on a personal level. On a more important note, I appreciate what you said about crying being a 'wonderful reaction to pure beauty'. I resonate with this statement deeply. Thank you for sharing.
Seen Ben three times and one was a very intimate pre tour practice at Bristol Uni. The guy is simply awesome. I miss India Born in his line up, her haunting voice and cello added even more depth. After nine Glastonbury’s and a lifetime of live music at almost 62 I have never seen a better live performer.
You might not know this and you probably never will.. you've changed my life with your beautiful compositions. The way we see the world and the life we live, it's a beautiful thing. Music like this, makes me want to live everyday like its my last day on earth
The best thing about pure raw talent is that this amazing music we have just listened to came from nowhere. It's not a repetition of what others have created. It's something new and now it's here to stay, forever!!!! Thank you!!!!
Oh, hey I wasn't listening I was watching Syria blinded by the sunshine strip And you, you were in the kitchen Oh, your mariner's mouth The wounded with the wounder's whip And that's how summer passed oh The great dividing range of green, green grass Oh, maybe it was peace at last, who knew Hello love, my invincible friend Hello love, the thistle and the burr Hello love, for you I have so many words But I, I forget where we were Oh, hey I wasn't listening I was stung by all of us The blind leading out the bored And as per usual You were skipping and laughing eyes at the bedroom door "Don't take it so seriously, no Only time is ours, the rest we'll just wait and see!" Maybe you're right, babe, maybe Oh, no, and that's how summer passed Oh the great dividing range, the green green grass And, oh, maybe I hold on fast to you Hello love, my invincible friend Hello love, the thistle and the burr Hello love, for you I have so many words But I, I forget where we were I, I forget where we were I forget where we were I forget where we were Oh, no, and that's how summer passed Oh, your, great dividing range, the green green grass Oh, maybe it was peace at last, who knew
Interesting playing style ! I always watch "Later with Jools..." for great new acts, and Ben is the latest ! Just ordered both albums after listening on Spotify.
As a man who feels incredibly alive just feeling, either happiness, calmenss , sadness or love. Songs like this and people like ben ground me. Make me feel all those emotions yet i find peace in the emotional chaos that this causes. Its kinda soothing to know what all has passed and what all there is to experience. It feels like living ,this song. And since all men must die we could do a bit of living in the mean time. Love it!
Wish I had discovered this gem earlier!....living in the Caribbean (Antigua)...things reach us a little later😆...Ben you have such a unique style & wonderfull lyrics...love the whole surf...in tune with nature & humanity connection...just oozes purity & real life...love this lad!!🙏🏽👏👏😘😘
I've allways been a Hip Hop and Motown head all my life but when this dropped I think on jo wileys live lounge it connected like no other song I still keep coming back Ben Howard ✌
jeez this guy just gets better every time i listen. He's so talented, but as has been said the most under rated, he should be a household name, but hey it's cool when the rest finally catch on we can say we knew all along.
This album came out the year my sister passed away aged 28. In my state of mind I locked into the lyrics. Away from that I like how he refers to watching Syria from the sunset strip. Peace to all humans. The green green grass of home. ✌🏻🏴 🌍

Amazing group, gutted they have split and even more gutted that it doesn't seem like it will ever be the same again. wish i had seen them live before it happened!

Exactly the Same...
Exactly mate! Ben Howard inspires me whatever mood i'am in.

This man brought me out of my grave. Thank you for everything.
I severely regret not seeing this man live
+Roxanna RZ Oh my goodness, so do I! He was in Melbourne recently and I missed out. I hope I get to see him some time in the future.
+Roxanna RZ I saw him live and I can promise you it is the greatest thing you could ever do.
It's a year old comment, and I know that you aren't an idiot but you know, he is always doing shows so book that shit, maybe include me :).
Let's hope he's working on some new stuff!
Check out A Blaze of Feather. He's playing the guitar for Mickey Smith's venture.
I genuinely think that this is one of the greatest love songs.
Forgetting where you are, being with someone, feeling that
you don't have to worry about time passing because you
are sharing it with someone.
You stop looking and start being.
I think this is more about a relationship ending to be honest
One of the saddest love songs, because your loved one suffers from dementia...
Unfortunately it's in the sense of forgetting how lucky you are to be where you are. You get complacent, you are distracted, you don't pick up the little beautiful things. "Skipping dancing eyes at the bedroom door", "I wasn't listening",

Nice words x
tall paddy took the words of my mouth
Totally agree, goosebumps everytime. This is music.
I friggin love the way this song builds, and suspends, this guy writes for drummers, he knows how to hang the rythym.
Judging by the little amount of comments on this video compared to views I can only conclude that nearly everyone was left speechless
What a comment!

Got shiver, my friend. Thank you for share your story.
I can never understand how things with any amount of depth or truth can actually leave us. I always wonder why we chase these things all our lives and yet find ourselves giving it the opportunity to walk out on us before we even know it
my life right now :(
Спасибо за твою историю, добрый человек. Дай бог, чтобы если и не в этой, так в другой жизни, мы наконец-то поняли, насколько же ценно, когда "она слишком много говорит на кухне", и как же нам это, на самом деле, необходимо для счастья.
I return to your comment and to this song every time
This song transports me back to a lost love. Music is a vessel of memories 😢
I cry since I've discovered him, I swear. And it's nothing bad. It's a wonderful reaction to pure beauty.
+nawie89 But you never discovered him.
+robert thomson could you tell me what you mean? If I used the verb in a wrong context I'd like to have an opportunity to correct it.
+robert thomson why would you even do that. you know what is meant. leave.
Thank you for sharing.
many of us feel the same.

Saw him on Sunday Oct 14 2024 in Edinburgh for his 10 years tour. It was just amazing.
Just saw him in Bournemouth!! Absolutely unbelievable !!
Saw him in Dublin on the same tour, very lucky as his 2nd album is my favourite!
Sweet, sweet melancholy...such an amazing performance
His jools performance was sublime. Thank God the BBC know how to produce sound. Perfection by Ben, tha band and the set up.
Anybody wants to mention the amazing band filling in those ambient sounds and backing vocals.
I've just discovered Ben Howard and I can't even describe what a revelation he is. He illuminates my soul!
this song touches my soul in a way it frightens me. yet I keep it on repeat

The best thing about pure raw talent is that this amazing music we have just listened to came from nowhere. It's not a repetition of what others have created. It's something new and now it's here to stay, forever!!!! Thank you!!!!
You've obviously never listened to John Martyn then........
I can only listen to this song once in a while, It's so straining I get exhausted by it

This man is a treasure to music...
One of the best musicians I've ever listened in my life.
This album came out the year my sister passed away aged 28.
In my state of mind I locked into the lyrics.
Away from that I like how he refers to watching Syria from the sunset strip.
Peace to all humans.
The green green grass of home.
✌🏻🏴 🌍
This guy is something else very unic
Ben and his band are absolutely amazing, pure perfection...
There's always one person who has to dislike even the best songs. This is my favourite song of the year, still just as awesome with each listen!
What an incredible guy!
Absolutely fantastic. Superb song and performance
Probably watched the Ben, 100 Times!

True Music... Ben Howard is a LEGEND.
Best song ever...nothing compares to this! My fav artist of all times ❤️
i was joking my friend. he's a very talented man and one that all should see live!
I love this song still❤
He sounds fantastic! Love him so much
Oh, this is the song my mum was going on about with him "playing the guitar upside down"!
...and that's why moms are awesome!
He only plays certain sections like that as it’s the only physical way to do the chord shapes ✌🏻
It won’t be this song.... it will be “end of the affair” live on jools Holland. Trust me it’s amazing.....
Michael Busby the chords are upside down here.
On the video your on about he just shouts into the guitar on its side.🤷🏼♂️✌🏻
Prodigy.... no more word needed!
Very good artist .keep em comeing son.
I love Ben! Amazing talent but how epic is his drummer!
