Dan you have so much to offer in learning the harmonica and showing tips on guitar. Here I have had harmonica’s around the house C,D, and G and never really knew how versatile they can be and how they add to the music. Love it. G’day b’by.
Hey Rocky! Great to hear from you. Thank you for getting in touch and for subscribing. I am enjoying doing the harmonica & guitar tutorials - it keeps me playing and learning. If I can get the little one to retire, we’ll be out for a tour! Take care, pal.
Great harmonica riffs in Blue Rodeo tunes. Thanks for the lesson. I'm only working on the harmonica parts and would love to see a lesson on the lengthier riff towards the end of Head over Heels. Or if you are able to post the tabs that would be awesome too! Thanks again!!
So here's something I've tabbed out that I believe is pretty close to the studio version (in reviewing some live versions on UA-cam, Cuddy seems to play it quite differently). You will need to work out the rhythm and timing and which notes get emphasis. There are some notes that are pick-up notes played quickly before the start of a measure that are hard to represent...I've put them in round brackets. Generally, this should just get you in the right neighbourhood, and then you can make it up from there. 🙂 Also, I'm providing single note tab here, but you could play it looser/messier (like original) by adding in the neighbouring holes. "B" means blow "D" means draw "D~" means with some bend for inflection. "...I love the way you come to me...." [rest measure] rest half measure, then 6D~ 6D 6B 6D 6B (hold) for measure rest half measure, then 6D~ 6D 6B 6D 5B 6B 6B 6D 5B 5B 8D 7B 7D.....7B 8D 7D 7B....... (6D 6B) 6D~ 6D~ 6D~ 6B..... I've just posted a video that demonstrates the solo for Head Over Heels. That tab I provided you previously is not so good! My apologies. The new video is much closer, I think. ua-cam.com/video/v56ha5W2MvY/v-deo.html
Hi there. In this video I sometimes play a harmonica in the key of G, sometimes in the key of A. All these intros are played in first position (key of harmonica is the same as the key of the song). Five Days in May - key of G Bad Timing - key of A Photograph - key of A English Bay - key of G Head Over Heels - key of A The G harmonica I play here is a Seydel Session Steel, whereas the A is a Hohner Special 20. Hope this helps!
Beautiful . Thank you !
Nice! Blue Rodeo - one of my favourite bands!
Yeah, lots of sweet mandolin on their stuff too
Thanks ... nice work !! Really like the colour coded Harp in the video box -- very helpful!!
Well thank you. I am glad the coloured harp thing works for you!

5 days in may!
5 Days in May is a great song! Included on the album called 5 Days in July.
Holly smokes . Nice !!!
Thank you! I think The Kavorka King might be the best handle ever, by the way.

Hey, thank you for getting in touch. I will work on tabbing out that harmonica bit from the end of the song and will post it here. Stay tuned!
