Hi there. In this video I sometimes play a harmonica in the key of G, sometimes in the key of A. All these intros are played in first position (key of harmonica is the same as the key of the song). Five Days in May - key of G Bad Timing - key of A Photograph - key of A English Bay - key of G Head Over Heels - key of A The G harmonica I play here is a Seydel Session Steel, whereas the A is a Hohner Special 20. Hope this helps!

Thank you! The main harmonica I mostly play, including on this lesson, is the Hohner Marine Band Special 20. The plastic comb is nice and smooth and the brass reeds are responsive and bendable.

@@slywagonlessons7935 Bruce is known to use Marine Band.....But Sly Wagon just simplified what so many never could in more than 27 years.....

That’s a good idea, I do enjoy that solo. Might take me a bit of time, but I’ll get to it for sure. In the meantime, I did tab the solo out a while ago…believe this is pretty close to the studio version (in reviewing some live versions on UA-cam, Cuddy seems to play it quite differently). You will need to work out the rhythm and timing and which notes get emphasis. There are some notes that are pick-up notes played quickly before the start of a measure that are hard to represent...I've put them in round brackets. Generally, this should just get you in the right neighbourhood, and then you can make it up from there. 🙂 Also, I'm providing single note tab here, but you could play it looser/messier (like original) by adding in the neighbouring holes. "B" means blow "D" means draw "D~" means with some bend for inflection. "...I love the way you come to me...." [rest measure] rest half measure, then 6D~ 6D 6B 6D 6B (hold) for measure rest half measure, then 6D~ 6D 6B 6D 5B 6B 6B 6D 5B 5B 8D 7B 7D.....7B 8D 7D 7B....... (6D 6B) 6D~ 6D~ 6D~ 6B..... I hadn’t thought of using the looper, but that would be good! Could lay down the guitar, then swap in the mandolin and play with harmonica to get all three in there. Thanks for the tip!
