- Here's a quick run down on how I trained my dogs to speak on command.
I'm in no way saying this is the only way to train this! it's just how I did.

my dog was just quietly sitting there waiting for the treat so i made her do smth she didnt like so she’d make noise and we’ve learnt this trick in 20 minutes!!!😂😂😂

Lol i started teaching my dog this today and he got so frustrated with me lol, he didnt know what to do he ended up walking away😭 but ill continue to try this everyday

My husky already knows the speak command somewhat though sometimes he’s stubborn with it, though my Boston terrier doesn’t vocalize very much and when he does he is super quiet about it and only with the other two going aswell but I’m gonna try to teach him to speak with this video thank you for the tips and video
What if my dog doesn’t ever really bark?
@Nikki Daize my german shepherd too ! he wont get frustrated enough to vocalize anything he’ll just get bored and walk away lol

@@yadirav1498 I’m very late but a German Shepard that isn’t vocal those exist lol 😂 I wish mine was like that but she throws a fit about everything honestly this could probably be easy to teach her
@@pao6452 but that’s rewarding negative behaviour you don’t want. so they’ll start doing it more because they know they’re gonna get a treat for it at some point.
My golden retriever learned how to do it before the video was done 🤣🤣🤣
What should I do if my dog just whines instead of barking?
I absolutely found it so adorable when i saw your tiktoks but I have been wondering whether getting a treat after growling will turn into a bad habit. Like isn’t there a possibility for your dog to learn he can growl if he wants something? Or is it really just when they can smell the high value treat?
He vocalizes like this naturally instead of barking. It’s easy to to teach them to only do it when asked.

Teaching any kind of speak command you definitely have to only reward for when you ask them to and redirect them if they start doing it when you don’t want them too! :)

My dog instead of getting mad she jumps up and like stays...? She does a little stand for a couple seconds instead of the growl?
If he doesnt growl at all this is not for your dog

How do you teach your dog to bark continuously until being told to stop?
I adopted a 7 year old corso in September and honestly he’s only vocal when he wants energy, I tried this for 20 min and not a single sound 😭😭 how do I have the most unvocal pup🤣
It happens sometimes lol. It took me two weeks to get my moms dog to bark! I eventually got him to! It just took awhile 😂

i'm gonna try this next time i have my mom's dog. i used the method in one of your other videos to teach him to shake paw and he learned to shake both paws in about a half an hour. this seems even simpler, but i think his frustration threshold is very high. i'm anticipating him flailing paws at me trying to figure out why it's not working until he lays down, let's out a big sigh, puts his head on the floor and slow wags while he stares up at me forever.

I tried this with my husky and it worked well, but have you trained a quiet command? I can usually redirect her but I haven't really been able to get her to stop barking on command.
I usually redirect to a place bed and have them lay down if they won’t calm down. I just say “okay. Enough” and ask them to place

I taught talk shit from the get go lol. I just didn’t want to cuss repetitively on UA-cam 😂

I really do suggest keeping up trying this way. With either a very high value treat (like hot dogs) or toy. Something that smells strong to a dog like a hot dog will usually make them want to do anything they can to get it. Or you could try to catch when your dog is barking at something else and mark/reward that. But be carful to no reward negative behaviors.
But what if the only time he barks is when he's trying to get at another dog is kind of hard to reinforce speak command when he only barks for dogs he will not bark for anything else nothing motivates him to bark aside from trying to escalate towards another dog

Do short training sessions. Like 5 mins to start and work your way up over the span of a few weeks

Yes most dogs do for speak lol. Sirius naturally growls instead of barking. I didn’t teach him to do that
My dog just puts is head on you and gives you puppy eyes he won't make any noise 😅 I've been trying for 2 hours
I’d call it a day. I don’t suggest training new things like this past 10-20 mins a day or you’ll burn your dog out. Take a step back and try in a day or two. Try using a higher value reward like hot dogs or something your dog loves. Then try again only for like 10 mins. End it on a good note and keep trying :)

Keep up with it. Some dogs take longer to learn it. Or any time you know your dog vocalizes over something, have treats on hand and reward them
