I disagree, only way to avoid them is to find another job. What do you think happens when your bosses go to seminars and meetings??They are trying to figure out ways to use psychology to see who will be the most compliant, who doesn't mind getting into conflict. It's all systemized so the higher ups don't ever have to actually do any real work. They delegate everything and teach their managers how to use psychology as well.. It's a way these sick people can have power without having money. That's why they stay in the job for so long, it's how these people get high. They all have one thing in common, their lives outside of the job is nonexistent, meaning they have no children, no husband or wife, or they only go out with coworkers. Their lives pretty much revolves around the power they get from holding a position of importance at their job... It's like an indoctrination into a cult and these people cannot maintain romantic relationships because no woman or man cares about your position at some job but they will bring that delusional arrogance they've gained from the job, it's inevitable and that will obviously rub a romantic partner the wrong way.

SO ENTITLED! I finally left nursing due to the bullying. So many coworkers that think they're the boss and the rules don't apply to them! Including the covert nurse managers that made wonderful promises, usually with a sweet smile, and cute voice. But if you naively assume they intend to follow regulation that protects patients, first they will lie to you, then they will try to force you, then all promises made upon hiring are null and void.

@@ARedMagicMarker You're so right! That's actually the real cause of the nursing shortage, the nurse-on-nurse bullying. While the public is "worshipping" nurses calling them "Angels" & "Heroes" (partly promoted by nurse P.R.), there is a common expression in nursing, "Nurses eat their young".

Unfortunately I have experienced this twice in my career. Especially the lack of accountability they have. They are perfectly willing to throw someone else under the bus, but when something is obviously their fault or responsibility 'it's the situation' that is supposedly at fault. Dealing with narcissists at work is demoralising and exhausting and that's if you're lucky 😥😵

The only time you'll here a "atta boy/girl" or that you are actually skilled is if you disconnect from them and they want you back to work. One of my old bosses always said he was trying to "tune me up" pretty much implying how much better he is to put im simple. Not good people to be associated with

American laws are different than some countries. You say to keep on praise the employee you are going to fire so they have no idea what's coming down the pipes. In many countries, and certainly in any unionized environment, they can sue you for wrongful dismissal. If you have a grievance worth firing over, it needs to be documented that you discussed it with the employee, and told them what corrective measures were agreed upon. This may need to be documented multiple times, and signed by the employee, before firing can be undertaken. If you praise them for behaviour that you subsequently fire them for, consider yourself sued. Also, if the boss is a narc they will not necessarily reward integrity. They will reward whomever strokes their ego regardless of their job skills.

Thank you so much. I'm being bullied at work, walking on eggshells and being undermined behind / just out of earshot (open plan office). I'm being trained by a woman whom I suspect is a Narcissist. I can't go no contact but I'm so drained as she's overpowering. There's a set of rules for me about chattiness then she continues to talk about non work related issues. If I speak she looks annoyed and says "can we talk work?". I go quiet then everyone asks if I'm OK. I feel exhausted and somewhat paranoid. She brags that she's a bitch. My Manager told me he has problems with her and I'm a good fit. She seems to be a flying monkey and I'm losing confidence.

They even play with energy..she wanted our kids to play together And something just told me...NO this woman is trouble so I have distanced myself...I will deal with her at work but not in my personal life too.
