This is entirely my coworker. Everyone thinks she is so nice, really just an opportunist that is not good at her job, but from before my first day, she has been after me. At least 2x a week, she fakes a headache and comes back with filler, botox, nails, lashes, etc. 10 months into my job she physically attacked me and no one believed it because she's too "nice". Over time, she created a posse to help play her game and even had work removed from me to a less experienced posse member; by the way, they do the same as she does so that she can orchestrate and get away with her behavior. When I was on medical leave due to the physical symptoms of the stress, she called HR to say I am a bully, making herself into a victim. When I returned 6 weeks later, she was surprised thinking I would have been fired just on her words and it continues. . . all that is in this video is the roadmap of my experience, except I called her out early and it made my treatment much more targeted and worse.

It was my job in my old department to create short training modules (for yearly re-training certs--simple stuff like Back Safety, Cultural Competency, etc.). My narc coworker insisted that I go to her because, "she still has all the trainings from her last job". She actually said, "Make sure you come to me before sending those out."
I disregarded what she said and never reached out to her for those trainings. And prompty sent to everyone, including her, the trainings I sourced and developed myself, per my job description.

Absolutely they’re very cunning. At first I hired an employee her first real job paid her over what entry-level people are made promises that she would stay long-term then networked herself into our clients lives to use them now covertly to change careers, and then points out every little thing I say, or doas I’m wrong and she’s my superior sad she’s 20 years old I’m 63 and have been in the business that we both currently work in until her final day is Tuesday, January 2, 2024.

Wow- this is the BEST video on coworker narcissist stages. I am familiar with narcissists and their behavior, so I’m disappointed in myself that I didn’t catch this current one or use my narc bug spray. You are spot on. Here are other details I’ve noticed:
    - the second day of meeting at work, she wanted to go to lunch and talked more on how she could be helpful (she had experience prior at the campus), she then bought my lunch (I refused) and she said she was trying to make friends. From then on, it was LOVE BOMBING galore with me, other coworkers and management. Bosses got upset and told her to stop buying coffee for them. When we had to work together, she kept love bombing me with random things. One was a powder to flavor water. I refused and set a strong boundary and SHE got upset and said, “fine. Since you drink coffee all the time, your water intake is not good.” Very controlling.
    - she found little things to put me down- “oh what’s this? A heat map? How come I have 95% and you have 82%”
    - I told her I was interested in learning something she was an expert in and she snapped/mask dropped and said, “why do you need to learn this?” Scary
I attribute my success to work ethic, mental growth, positive attitude. For the past few months, her energy rubbed off on me and depression snuck in. I wasn’t happy at work and I believe a lot of it is her, even if it’s a brief interaction. She was out of office for 2 weeks and the stats from my apple health improved. I had freedom to be myself and network/branch off like I normally do. Now that she’s back, I know she can sense it and she’s be-friending those that SEEM close to me and making it a competition. Weird because she always proclaimed she’s “bad luck” and would name off the names of people in our department who don’t like her. She wanted to catch up with work things when she got back and kept bugging me with, “I need help, we need to work together in person” (and we honestly didn’t need to do it in person). I gave in for a set amount of time so I wouldn’t have to deal with smear campaigns or have issues. She pretty much wasted my time and dumped her negativity on me and only wanted me for supply. Now that that’s happened, her behavior flipped and she’s acting as if I’m the one who has the issue and she’s the professional one… Anyhoo, now that I’m reflecting, I think she targeted me bc I have the most experience and education on our team. I’m also very friendly and can network very well. I apologize for the rant. I really resonated with this video and feel validated ❤

Well.. since getting back to work after a lifetime of abuse and financial hardship, all I’m finding is nasty narcs in power. Even narcs half my age thinking that they know everything: it’s crazy because it’s a small company. Like 10 people but he has a 23 year old step daughter running the place along side of his 25 year old sugar baby. These 2 walk around with their noses in the air, talking mad shit about those doing primarily all the work. Now the 23 yr old is set to have a baby by next week. I left this job due to mean girls syndrome/mentality. I gave them no time to find someone to fill my spot prior to all these vacations and the owners red headed step child’s maternity leave . Some may say I was being petty. No, actually they shouldn’t have not bit the hand that fed them. They’ll have to find out the hard way.

I have been living in a condo and volunteer on a homeowner's board of directors, and this one person monopolizes meetings, and always has to be right, and is dismissive to what anyone else has to say, or she forgets what was told to her. There is a sense of an elephant on my chest, there does feel like there is this underlying competition because I cannot express myself at meetings, and I spotted and confronted this person about unethical behavior, getting work done in her unit while everyone else had to go through their insurance company. And now she acts like a victim. Issue of anxiety is that this is where I live and it is very difficult to find an affordable home where I live.

Wow this is great! I been struggling lately. My sales manager is a narcissist and was laid off by him. I was very thrown off by getting laid off. The manager told me I “didn’t have the capabilities of doing the job” but the owner of the company called me a couple of days after to check up on me. (I was close to the owner) but he told me the reason I was laid off was because I didn’t take ownership of some of my deals. I was so confused and still to this day. Sorry for my rant hahaha 😂

Totally! I off😊ered help. Before o knew it, I had a list...literally a list of to do items. When saying this is too much on my health, all things blew up. I had offered to do, what I considered the most important, which was to write her lawyer & judge, as a character witness. This was beyond anything I expected... so I do write the letter, but asked repeatedly for an email to where it should go. I never received an email or address. So I still have the letter. She sent 64 text messages degrading, lying, and bullying. It doesn't work from my ex-husband.

This hag at work was always trying to tell me what to do. We didn't even work in the same department. So recently I decided to rid myself of her. She actually told me if I ever had something to work on for Halloween, to come to her for help😂😂😂😂. I did up a picture book of past parties at work, she saw it & did not say anything about it. I could feel that jealous vibe coming from her...hardcore. But anyway, I am happy now. She tries to look sad, I just don't care.

This all describes my coworker. She came in very kind very sweet I just want to work. She uses this I'm very nice sweet voice but I've heard use her real voice. Little by little everything you described started to come out. She does the opposite of what she says. She acts like she's a team player and will do the work and she doesn't. I have assigned her some things and she acts so sweet and kind and I'm going to do the best. But then she falls through which i have called her out on and then she gets passive aggressive. Even bangs get stapler her note books the cabinet door in the restroom. And this is a cycle i noticed not just once. But in times I call her out she does this. Bangs everything to intimidate. She'll also greet people over the phone or in person like she's very nice person and courteous and hospitable and ready to help, chatting up the person and being so charming and laughing but when the person asks for work related thing her tone of voice will change to you're bothering grumpy sort of way. It's like no one catches on. They still see her as so nice and very nice. There are so many things she does that only I can see. She's even helicoptered (i don't know how else to describe it)my other coworker always hovering her to herself so i won't get near her and talk to her but even for work related things because she accuses me of being mean to her. I have speculation she's also poisoned said coworker with those lies that i can't approach my other coworker without getting attitude as the covert narcissist is just eyeing me. I have resorted to just emailing her instead of approaching. And i know no one will believe me at work because the covert narcissist is in everybody's good grace.

Wait until they make a big mistake and trap themselves. Some of them start to get into a feeding frenzy and think they can do anything to their target and the rest of the people will either cower and pretend not to know anything, or they will support the bully and his sycophants. They go so far sometimes that, finally, a bystander squeals. They get trapped like rats in their own scheme. Whole bully armies can be trapped like that, like Hitler trapped one of his own armies in Normandy. There were blown up tanks, half-tracks, trucks, civilian cars, wooden carts and their dead horses, and dead Nazis for miles when the Nazi army finally tried to retreat.

Thanks a million! I really want ur book. I've been really busy, also had the flu... So I've been staying at home and the house work is piling up... No rest for the wicked 😉 haha I have a feeling my life is about to turn around for the better! A complete 360°, it's about time... Thanks for the update... I tried to follow on the Masterson case but unfortunately I had worked a case( I'm a Private 👁️ Eye) on a missing person who was absorbed in a Hollywood Cult!!!* So hard to describe the similarities! Catch 22 for all the challenges! So God Bless your work on that
