You absolutely saved my son and I while studying for his first chemistry exam in college. i have a Bachelors in Science and know how to name molecular compounds but couldn't practically explain to him. You have a gift for breaking things down to simple steps that make sense. Thank you
I’m international student from Japan. Your video has subtitles, and this is very helpful for me. I could not understand my professor’s lectures, but I got to understand by watching your video. Thank you so much. You are the best chemistry teacher ever.
Just so you know, when she says "polyatomic atoms", she means "polyatomic IONS". A polyatomic ion is a charged particle having two or more atoms so its chemical formula reflects that.
Real Talk, I have watched Khan Academy and a few other random Chemistry "nomenclature" videos and this one was the best to understand! Thanks Melissa and keep it up!
I cannot thank you enough for your videos. I am in college taking chemistry and I have struggled all semester until I found your videos. You take the time to explain everything thoroughly and even include some basic info that we all probably know but have forgotten. Your videos will be the reason I pass my final lmao THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!
I take an honors class and my teacher asks if we have questions and immediately says okay then moves on without waiting for questions. Then when we ask a question she gets mad and says “I’m only going to explain one time that’s it.” She’s getting paid to teach, if we’re not learning proper she shouldn’t be getting paid. I get that she has to go quicker but we still have tests to pass. That being said, thank you.
By watching your videos, my son has gone from average scores to 100% on his last 4 chem quizzes and exams. You are an amazing teacher, thank you for what you do!
As a foreigner, I am really struggling with the basic principles of chemistry. Many videos don't even include the basic principles because they are too basic and should be common sense. But for me, it is really hard. Thank you so much! Your videos are amazing and help me a lot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Maybe you do not understand because it is all a lie??? You know Mendeleev created this table of chemical elements and its main element was Aether , well they lizards edited it out, erased it out of the memory like it never existed without ever asking the author. Similar way the physics was changed by Einstein who was entrusted with this by London masonic lodge. They do it on purpose to hide how they poison population with what they call "heavy metals " Besides all these elements are half way fraudulent , because they originate not where they say they do and they do all possible to hide their real origin - plants and animal materials this is where it all comes from. Such as they take mercury out of bat's period blood, bats are such animals that possess echolocation, that's transferring image and sound through the distance and manipulating time, that is how they first built mirror ( mercury mixed with sand), then radar, than radio all for military purposes. That's how also they create cancer in people and many other diseases, including Mad Hatter disease - ASD( Original: " Twinkle twinkle little BAT, how I wonder where you are at? " not a " star" at all) and how they create homosexuality , autism and many other ( seemingly unrelated) diseases, including Covid 19. Also they make nuclear fuel and weapons out of those poisons things so all of this is radioactive also which they conveniently hide behind things like " viruses". All those so called models in minus nine degree size such as DNA, viruses do not exist!!! If I were you I would not get too upset about that.

At school you don’t feel like learning, because it’s not by your own will to wake up and go somewhere you don’t want to be. If this video helps, I suggest asking online classes, anyways, Great Video 😜
You literally have taught me more in your videos than my chem teacher has the ENTIRE semester lol THANK YOU!!
This is an amazing video. Thank you for putting out free content to help people. You are a saint tbh.
these videos are the only reason that I pass my tests lol. thank youuuu
Immediately subscribed. Yesterday, I felt pretty stupid because the way that my professor was teaching it..I was not getting it. I have my midterm tomorrow for college chem and you made me feel more confident. I am definitely going to be "studying" with you! I also bought your flashcards. It will come after my midterm but my final is comprehensive and this is something I'll need for life!
You helped me so much! thank you thank you thank you, my test is today and I stayed up until 4am trying to understand compounds and it only clicked after I watched your video. Great teacher you are
8:36. How come it’s Cu2+ and PO3-? The 2+ and the 3- don’t have a net charge of zero..?
My teacher has been ridiculously confusing, this was very helpful
Question : 4:49 How did u find out that phosphate has 4 oxygen?
I've learned more from you than I have from school in 3 months. Thank you, you make it so easy to understand!

Your literally an angel!!! Your the reason I'm passing my chemistry class with an A+ thank you so much!!!
I want to say, thank you so much. I really liked how you actually explained the terms, most teachers don’t bother because they think it’ll confuse the students, but not knowing confused me even more. Your supper amazing, thanks so much for taking the time to do this. It really helped me so much.🙏
I want to thank you so much!!! I was struggling with the rules and concept of naming and i literally appreciate you so much for summarizing the concept in a brief, yet precise way! love this channel

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE HELP. I'M A STRUGGLING COLLEGE STUDENT ANS THIS SERIOUSLY CLARIFIED SOME THINGS!
This is my 5th time watching this video. I’m in chemistry and I’ve had 3 exams all of them cumulative. All I do is rewatch your video and I’m good to go!! 👍🏻 now it’s the final exam!!
I was literally lost when learning this in Chem lecture in college. And I got this way easier, thanks so much.
I just started studying this and I got a test in two days (oops) and this was VERY helpful. Thank you!
Hi, I've gone and confused myself. when you say charge is it the same as saying loss or gain of electrons?
Yes. So like Mg has a charge of +2. So it was naturally born with a loss of 2 electrons. And this also means it is a cation.
Thumbs up from me---I've got a quiz in two days and missed two days this unit. This video is a major blessing.
Thank you Bess! Good luck on your quiz!
finals tmrw and this helped more than my teacher, or i wasn’t paying attention
I have 9 whole pages of notes from this one video thank you so much. With your video within an hour, I was able to understand what my teacher couldn't teach me in a week. thank you so much
She reads so many comments, respect. Thats a sub. For me, we have the same class all day to prevent covid spreading, hard 2 concentrate, this helps
OMGGGGGGGGGG this is everything!!! thank you for making this videos, it's so cheesy and so informative AKA best combo !!!
