- This series of video's are from my mothers closet, and represent a lot of history in bluegrass music. I have decided to post these videos to the cloud to preserve the history. Should there be any copyright issues, I may have to make them private. Enjoy!
The old Home place. One of the all time bluegrass classics by the Dillards.
I Love ❤To hearThe Dillards Gospel Videos
FANTASTIC!!! I'll never understand how they can get the chords with one hand and pick with the other - that just AMAZES me!
Me and my cousins learned every one of these tunes😊
I love this music. Thanks. Anyone who doesn’t like this has something wrong with them Beautiful bluegrass
National treasures they were...thanks Rodney!
Such an iconic group of bluegrass artists. These videos are a treasure. Thank you for preserving the work of this group. - Tennessee Smoky
Love this. Your music is amazing!
This makes me so happy! I wish I could have been there!❤
My Grandad was originally from Kentucky - and he was so good at spinning yarns. Mitch reminds me of Grandad's dry-as-dust, sideways sneak-up-on-you humour. Just love him. Especially his intro to "Blue" - on their "Live - Almost" album. I first heard that when I was about 18 or so (1967) - and have just loved them ever since. One of the best things - they wrote their own stuff - and it became iconicly classic. Most folks who hear "The Old Home Place" or "Dooley" - think those are trad tunes. But - no. The Dillards wrote them - along with "There Is A Time" and so many others . . .
Thank you for posting this it’s AMAZING! It love the Dillards. Theyre the BEST. ❤️
great show! love mitch's necklace. didnt know rodney played harmonica!
Wonderful.....thanks for posting.
Andy: "The boys are kinda quiet tonight."
The Boys: (Blank facial expressions).
Briscoe: "Oh, they're just overcome with emotion."
Sadly Dean Webb passed away on 6/30/18. Only Rodney remains. R.I.P.
which one was dean webb?
@@dabneyoffermein595 He was the mandolin player.
what happened to them all , was it a tour bus crash or airplane crash that took them out?
@@dabneyoffermein595 They died over the years from disease. First Mitch, then Doug and most recently Dean. We still have Rodney and he continues to play and record!
@@sidneyshusterman6076 wow, I hope they went quick and didn't have to suffer. Any idea about what disease?
Listen to them is how I got interested in bluegrass. I love to meet them.
Better hurry, I think Rodney is the last one living.
Luckily, I had the chance to play with various Dillard members... some of Dirt band.
. My own band, the Cross Creek band...long defunct. The name was pilfered by some very bad musicians.
Any who God bless u Rodney...if you read this give me a call. I will be in Mo. down the road from u, love to see u.
Thank you Great postings
The bass player's story was hilarious. Wore out the snake and it was gumming people..
Does anyone know if The Dillards ever play the Grand Old Opry? If so, I'd sure love to see a video of their appearance.
awseome ty
Whoever posted this spelled the name WRONG! It's " Dillards", NOT Dilliards.
i assume they fixed it
What is the name of the Dillards opening song?
The first tune (an instrumental) is "Dixie Breakdown", written and recorded first by the great Don Reno, but many learned it in the style of Doug Dillard. Check out this older version from their live album. The boys might have slowed it down just a little in the video, but it still kicks. ua-cam.com/video/qGEvyZqKhGA/v-deo.html
Who's picking the banjar here.?
Douglas Flint Dillard is the banjo player.

Name wrong or not its blooming awesome
Saw the Dillards in a small folk club in Buena Park, CA, in about 1965. Rodnry played the dumbest guy you've ever seen. It was a great show, and I remember it so fondly, 55 years on. Thanks to the Dillards for stayin' true to Ozark bluegrass, and to the guy who posted this terrific music!
