YO! You tubers!!! Where is everybody??? You kidding me? 53 "likes" and 6 comments??? This should be mandatory listening, especially right now in these times 1/11/2021. Ok, forgive my tone, I was just getting carried away, I only just discovered the man myself less than a week ago and I am blown away by his universe. NPR Fresh Air interview w Terry Gross was my introduction. Now I am binge watching and reading him. He is like a medicine for the soul... Hope more peeps get to know both the man and the work. So sad that he passed last Christmas...

Wu-wei literally translates as “no trying” or “no doing,” but it’s not at all about dull inaction. In fact, it refers to the dynamic, effortless, and unselfconscious state of mind of a person who is optimally active and effective. People in wu-wei feel as if they are doing nothing, while at the same time they might be creating a brilliant work of art, smoothly negotiating a complex social situation, or even bringing the entire world into harmonious order. For a person in wu-wei, proper and effective conduct follows as automatically as the body gives in to the seductive rhythm of a song. This state of harmony is both complex and holistic, involving as it does the integration of the body, the emotions, and the mind. If we have to translate it, wu-wei is probably best rendered as something like “effortless action” or “spontaneous action.” Being in wu-wei is relaxing and enjoyable, but in a deeply rewarding way that distinguishes it from cruder or more mundane pleasures. Silvia, for me this is what lopez is doing....and i doing same benefit. Thought you might like tat.

@@dottiekemp5160 thanks, that's super interesting. Sorry, my first reply to you was inaccurate, had not fully read the end. I thought you were referring to a specific thing he said, but now I understand you were really referring to him as a whole. I truly appreciate what you wrote

I have listened to many survivors of WW2 and their grace and command of their own emotions is humbling. They as well rebuilt their lives by seeking stability. I believe it is this is why we even exist today. We must all learn stability and command of our own emotions if we are to keep going.
