The world is so noisy right now. I almost forgot how to make electronic music.
In this video I'll go over some concepts of making a complex bass line on the modular synth. I'll make a patch from scratch and explain my thought process and share some ideas as well. I'll also jam this bassline with the drum groove on the Digitakt. This is perhaps my favourite way of making a synth bassline! Enjoy!

🌍 Hello World! My name is Ihor.
This is my channel where I share my experiences, ideas, reviews and tutorials related to Electronic Music Production. I focus mostly on Techno and House music. In my Studio on my Music Production Desk you will find a variety of different gear like: digital and analog synth, eurorack modular, drum machine, sampler, effect, mixer, guitar pedal, MIDI controller. Also software: DAW, Ableton, VST, plugins.
I am myself an engineer and I am quite obsessed with the Music Technology and Sound Design. I like making music without a computer. I like playing Electronic Music Live with my Minimal Dawless Setup. I love Eurorack Modular Techno and always keen to talk about the modular workflow.
I strongly believe that nothing can be better than a good Dawless Techno Jam!
I watched all the Techno Tutorials on UA-cam! (I think)
📺 Thanks for watching! And have fun!
✌️ Peace.

Missed you brother. Happy to see you back!
I am a metalhead and was surfing for some festival videos. Came across your channel for some reason. Man, I knew that modular synths existed, but it's somehow mesmerizing how you present your content and your passion. I love that it's showing that EDM can be so much more than just pressing the power button of your desktop PC. The complex triggering, cascaded triggering and modulation of all the variables, makes this craft so complex it's almost impossible to wrap your head around the fact that there are endless possibilities for a unique sound. In a way it's "fretless" soundscaping. I love it. You are really doing a great job.
Actually I think this is metal AF. \m/
Thanks man.
Glad you came across my channel! I really much appreciate your kind words about my work and your comment! This soundscaping is like exploring an endless universe of sounds and sonics. Sometimes I do it "to fret", sometimes just "fretless". And I am so happy I find people that join me on the journey!
You think this is metal? Then this is metal indeed!
Thank you man!
Hell yeah! \m/
@Hans Oslo Tommy Creep has a zine called Black Panels Only and its only the darker side of modular. It has various metal as well as industrial, general blackness, drone, noise based ear-rape, audio sacrifice, ritual, divination and more. Lots of unholy metal-modular unions out there. There is even a module in coffin shape with real dirt in it from Edgar Allan Poe's grave site to send your signal through to distort. If that's not metal, I don't know what is.
Imagine what goes into making something like this sir ua-cam.com/video/SqayDnQ2wmw/v-deo.html
The funny part is the ignorance of "metalheads" then it clicks, eventually.. ..at some point.. Haha I was also a "metalhead"
Welcome back. Awesome sound and really catchy bassline melody. Even after 20 Minutes straight I missed it when the video ended. Keep it up!

always waited your upload longtime!
Nice Ihor! Impressive how much complexity you can get from seemingly simple sequencing & modulation.
Would be cool to see you combine this with some other elements, say, adding an arpeggio melody from the Korg, etc.
Thank you for your kind words and a good tip! I appreciate you!
Yay! Ihor on modular - happy days!
This is great stuff. Inspiring and next level (for me).

Lots of great tips and inspiration here. Less really is more. 👌
happy to see you back ....
Great. Very Daniel Avery sounding. Really enjoyed it.
Hey Santiago! Thank you! I love Daniel Avery ❤️
Wow - the patch looks simple but you got quite a bit going on there - and more to the point it SOUNDS good
I know going modular is a TERIBLY expensive addiction - but I cant stop looking :) :) :)
I don't know how the heck I got here, but I sure am glad I arrived. You are extremely knowledgeable and very clear about what you're doing. I love it.
Glad you got here! Thank you for your kind words!
Thanks for this
that was awesome!
20:35 Thats your OhHH Face. That's when I know you're in the GAME. Love it
Nice to see you mate!
Yo!
Amazing ! On my way to build my first modular synth. Thanks master !
Thank you Edgar!
Happy to see you made a video again! 🙏🏻 Hope, given the circumstances, you and family are OK. Hang in there! We do whatever we can to support your country 🇺🇦
As others stated here; I would be the first to visit your show if you play live; you are an amazing artist!! Unfortunately, although from Amsterdam, I live in the US now, so not much good techno here 😞 Keep up the good work 🎶😎✊🏻
Great channel!
Thank you!
Glad to watch your great videos. Hope that everything is ok with you and your family. Keep up
Thank you! Me and my family is fine and safe, fortunately. But the situation is very bad overall, unfortunately.
I'm a total noob when it comes to modular synthesis, and currently happy just using my Reason DAW to make music, but I just wanted to show respect for the DAW-less skills you show in this video. This stuff is fairly complex but you make it seem easy, no doubt from tons of practice, and an excellent grasp of signal flow and audio dynamics. I'm well impressed man. Keep on rockin' :)
Thank you!
Thanks Ihor, super useful as always!
What would be your favorite setup for a live techno set?
For now it is perhaps a combination of Octatrack + Rytm + Modular synth. However I really want to try to play a live set just modular.
@@IhorMedia Cool thx
Such a great video.
