You are correct Scott. The 12ers is a selected few tracks of No Jacket Required the 12” remixes. I only have it CD though. - Bill -
On the hunt…
The Story Of Genesis is definitely an official release. It was only released in Japan to promote the band as they were preparing to embark on their first Japanese tour. It has an eight page insert with photos and liner notes in both English and Japanese. It has been imported over the years and become a collector's item for any Genesis fan. In my view it really is a prime candidate for a RSD rerelease. It should also be released on CD for the first time ever.
I own the cassette of Turn it on again and the original pressing of We can’t dance.
I’ve collected all the original cd’s and now I’ve also almost all the cd’s of the Definitive Remastered Edition.
The colour boxes are rare too nowadays (cd and vinyl). I was lucky to buy them when they came out…

Flaming Youth (Ark2 album) , Nova (Vimana album), 1980 NBC The Genesis Special on vinyl if you didn’t know these existed. Phil Collins Big band.

I've never seen the "Dance Into The Light" album on vinyl but I once found the "Wear My Hat" 12' single on vinyl, so I think they released the album too.

I’ve had Story of Genesis for years on vinyl… I probably have a couple of copies of it now. The Longs I found on vinyl in a local shop for $18 about 20 years ago. I’ll check on the rest, but I have a pretty extensive collection! I’m actually had this stuff for so long that I’m surprised to come across things that I didn’t remember I have!

I have the '4 Sides' Live in both vinyl and disc. The vinyl I bought in a record store down in Greenwich Village, probably around '84 or '85. I didn't know that the UK version was different - it kinda blew my mind - especially because it had One for the Vine on it. Many years later I found the CD version in a used store. Fortunate, because I pretty much wore out all 4 sides of the vinyl.

Vinyl is making a comeback in UK.

To be honest, I r e a l l y like going back!! it took me a while to get into it, but every song is just a party on itself! Phil has a great voice on it, and I think it really fits the songs. Love it!

I suspect we'll never see it, due to Tina Turner being on the record - a lot of her music isn't available for streaming either. With her passing things will likely not make it easier.
Here's to hoping they can use Phil's version of Great Spirits instead. (Which I prefer)

Story of Genesis is a official Japanese release Greatest Hits. Dance Into The Light was originally on Vinyl.

The Story Of Genesis is all over record fair's here in England. I have the Four Side's Live on CD and vinyl. Also i have an official release of a Genesis compilation whose titles eludes me until i look but it's rather a curiousity item in that Watcher Of The Skies is a different studio mix to the Foxtrot Album. Have all the Brand X on CD and vinyl. Phil appears on many Ant Phillips solo albums of which i own around 40 ,there's more which i intend to purchase, Ant and Steve are incredibly prolific and it's hard to keep up.
I had 12’ers on CD as a teen and can confirm that it’s all the No Jacket Required remixes.

Here a fun one to find it’s only on cd it’s a deluxe version of do you remember with the live track of the roof is leaking rearranged live. That version come with a deluxe packaging.

I've been looking forever for original Both Sides and Dance Into The Light presses for vinyl but no luck so far 😂. I'm lucky though to have sniped an original print of Calling All Stations (UK) on Dutch marketplace. For Masques I'm just unlucky because the ones I've came across have been in rough shape but I do have it on CD!

My father had the Story of Genesis on vinyl. After his passing I inherited his records. I will have to make sure this wasn’t one that he lost in the flood in Metro Detroit in 2014.

I never would have thought that I actually own stuff that you are looking for! So I actually do own “The Story of Genesis“ and “Masques“ by Brand X. Yes, “Story of...“ was a Japan only official Charisma release. And it's so cool to me because with the album covering Trespass to And then there were three, you have a nice collection of all the 70s Genesis Albums. “Masques“ doesn't feature Phil, but it is a cool album nonetheless. I got the first four Brand X LPs (from Unorthodox to Masques) in the same store the same day. Somebody must have sold his collection 😅

You've discovered the "collector's dilemma": We want to find things, to hunt them, we get a "high" from looking and finding them...but once we've found them, if there's less and less to find, we become disappointed.
Went to an antique fair today and was disappointed the whole time… until the very end… scored…. and now the addiction continues.
