thanks for posting ran with leaky pump for couple years i did not want to pay $300. for a replacement and couldnt buy any parts to fix i checked youtube before there was no fix so was happy to find your post did exactly as you stated worked great solved leak i took my pipe into my local small motor shop and they had gas weed whip gas line which worked grate fixed for $3.00 thanks again!!
Just did this repair today, thank you for posting the video - knowing the steps on how to dismantle the unit was really helpful. The brass tube in mine was broken too, I ended up drilling it out (9/64 bit worked well). I then cut some of the remaining tube to use in place of the section I destroyed with the drill and connected the two parts with a short section of 1/8” vinyl tubing. Works great after reassembling and hopefully will last.
This is a super helpful video, thanks for taking the time to share it. My problem was exactly the same as yours. I had zero issues disassembling, and it worked perfectly. Only thing is, after final testing, I was putting the wiper arm back on and the threaded tube that the nut screws onto broke. SOB. Had to order a new motor anyway. (I was barely tightening by the way). Anyway, thanks for the fix. It works perfectly.
OMG your video was a godsend! ( and I am not religious). Amazing jerry rig. Worked like a charm. The Brass straw / pipe has sheared near the end and I went to Canadian Tire and bout 10 feet of tubing to use 2 inches and fix the problem. Great video and explanaition.
It looks like you can do this without even removing the wiper arm or motor assembly from the glass, am I mistaken? I'm about to attempt this on a friend's jeep.
All that, to fix a part that shouldn't leak any, and doesn't on any other vehicle but a Jeep. Made in China quality but made in the USA. I should know, I own two, and same problems on both: door locks, rear washer, leaky roofs, poor quality door seals, shit tailgate hinges with garbage bushings, etc. It's a pity that Jeep isn't owned by Volkswagen or Toyota or Honda. Maybe then they wouldn't be so poorly built with crap parts. All that said, very smart solution, well done. 7:19 Exactly, because everyone who has one has the same problems!
My sense of direction on that bolt might be incorrect. You may need to hit it with some penetrating oil and let it sit for a bit, especially if it's been exposed from the outside. Be careful, you don't want to break the window😥
@@johnaguglia put a set of vice grips or pliers on the aluminum washer while turning the bolt. The rubber behind the washer is the trouble maker here. 5:00 in the video.
@@johnaguglia try to stop that rubber grommet and washer from moving when you unscrewing it. Trust me I created some new words trying to get that off! 🤦♂️😂
Shoot, sorry it didn't work for you. This fix worked for me and several others. Make sure you left the rubber tube long enough that it will press tight into the assembly when you put it back together. If you're still having issues you'll probably need the actual replacement. Hopefully not. Let me know what the end result is. good luck.
No mine was all good after the tube was press fit. Another person on this thread had a local welder weld the pipe for him and that worked. If you can't fix with this you'll probably need to hunt down a wiper assembly.

Awesome! That's great Jim. Glad it worked for you!
Just did this repair on my 2007, thank you for this video. It was the first repair I’ve done on my own
That's great Matt, glad it helped.

Just did this fix on a 2014 Jeep Wrangler Sport and it worked great! Thanks for the video.
Sorry for the late reply - I'm glad it worked out for you!

Doh! Sorry you got all that way just to end up replacing it anyways.

Thank you! My 2017 JKU has a similar leak, hopefully this saves me the cost of a new wiper assembly…and keeps parts out of the trash.
You're welcome. I hope it works for you.
Thanks for this, have the same problem on my Wrangler, going to give it a shot!
Girlfriends jeep is doing this now.
Interestingly the price on the whole unit is now down to $150, still doesn't beat the cost of a small tubing.
perfect! excellent explanation!! hopefully, i'll be able to do the same!
The little nozzle had fallen off the used 2011 Jeep Wrangler. Is the little sprayer nozzle available in after market.
That's what I'm looking for...easy fix...thanks buddy..
Glad it helped. Hate to replace the entire assembly for just that🙂
how to you get the wire connection separated? I moved the red clip but can't get them apart!!

Thanks for the video, I'll be trying it on our Jeep (rather than buying a new $300 motor). Go Stamps! 🐎
Easy fix that works well. Thanks!
Glad to help
Do you know the exact type of tube you used by chance and where you got it? I’ve been looking all over the place and can’t find any that fit! Thanks!
It was some standard vinyl tubing I had that fit. I think it was a fuel line for a motorcycle, so not plastic, but certainly not silicone.
Should have shown us how to remove the motor
? It's pretty much explained at about about the 4 min. mark, unless I'm misunderstanding something.
Damn, i cant get the wiper arm screw off due to rust, and im scared to break the window lol
0:54 Any idea what that part # is?
You ever figure it out? Mine has a crack in it
I am having an issue removing that torx screw. Did it come right off for you? Mine won't budge :/
It came off easy enough John. Don't force it if it's seized. Try hitting it with some penetrating oil and leave it for a bit. Good luck.
It’s definitely reverse threaded - turn clockwise to loosen.
And you might have to grip the flat washer w/ the tab with pliers so it doesn’t rotate and tear up the rubber washer.
I am trying to loosen the right size bolt (righty loosie bolt but it’s not coming out.
My sense of direction on that bolt might be incorrect. You may need to hit it with some penetrating oil and let it sit for a bit, especially if it's been exposed from the outside. Be careful, you don't want to break the window😥
