I remember going to morfa to watch as a 12 year old kid and one best gigs I've ever seen. this song should have gone to number 1 in the charts in memory of stuart. the y haven't been the same band since
I feel the same there’s a couple of songs post Stuart that are okay but every song with Stuart is superb . I’ll always have time for the Stuart years ! RIP
Perfection-I remember the ok' dear 'taping' this whole gig when Channel 4 put it on in the early hours of one night.I didn't know much about Stuart Cable at that point...I was a quick learner. We all miss him,but thank The Lord he was there to do that at Morfa. RIP Stu, and long live the Stereophonics!
@DowaShmiffy I went to the Cardiff gig in June too. I travelled all the way from South America (Venezuela - where Javier grew up) to be there... I was front row center! I agree about Kelly's voice, it was so powerful. Hands down the best gig I've ever attended. Totally worth the long trip!
I've never been a fan of Mr Writer in the studio, but I'll give kelly his due, the song live is much better, it has an extended outro where he really gets to push his vocals towards the end! I kinda look at the phonics as two different bands now, back in the day of word gets around and performance & cocktails, they nailed it. everything about the band was just simply stunning, and the songs back then still fit in with today's music as well! Just a shame i don't think that with the new stuff :(
@DowaShmiffy spot on! i was at the cardiff gig last week too and they completely reassured me that they're still the same band live that i fell in love with 12 years ago, my only complaint is i wish the drums were as hard as when stuart used to hit them! but they still have the same momentum and power that the band had back in the day! your spot on about kelly's voice too, best i've ever heard them
@DowaShmiffy yeah i know what you mean, when local boy was playing i think everyone was just in awe and really appreciating it! it's amazing what one band can do for 30,000 people, i still think morfa was better, but this probably beats any other gig! hope it comes out on DVD
gotta agree with that one! they haven't been the same band since JEEP was released in my opinion, soon as they started to play local boy slowly live, they changed!
I’ve waited ten years to read someone agree with me. First time I saw them was on the JEEP tour before it came out.. considering I had watched this almost daily until too it was disappointing. Here’s your 10 year reply btw 😄
I admire anyone that can come here and watch this just once!
God bless this band. Brought me out of a bad place once.Never looked back.Rip Stu.
Awesome band, Great gig, Fantastic day!!! Far better then than they are now, Stu just cant be replaced, RIP Stu.

Stuart was a beast a wonderful drummer
What a tune. What a performance

What only a three piece rock band can do. Magic in their limitations and grandeur.

To be there. Wow!
Stunning three piece. Cracking drumming . And really cool up picks on the guitar. Solid, running bass. Fab. Wee background organ in the mix. Sweet.
the drummer was awesome..

Agreed. Awesome performance. Awesome day. Never forgotten.
Still to this day the best live version of this song.
That’s the best I’ve heard them live out of all the live footage I’ve seen and from seeing them, every song at Morfa is their best live version

Announce the Liberty 2019
i miss stuart. Javier is realy good, but stuart just had that energy and charisma. shame he just lost interest.
braddersthemod he was kicked out mate cos of his lack of commitment as he was on drugs
