Stereophonics performing 'Local Boy In The Photograph' at Millennium Stadium in Cardiff !!! Full gig was released on dvd called 'A Day at The Races' :)
....feel the empathy, the heart and soul that the band had back in the day. Still there today, but this raw emotive performance is iconic. Kelly Jones singing his heart right out...RIP Sir Stuart. You did yourself, your family, the band, Wales and all your adoring fans proud. Salute you.
Mmmm......... nah..... when you think of all the great music that came out in the 80s and 90s .... Billy Joel, Michael Jackson, Meatloaf, the Stone Roses, New Order, The Smiths, REM.......... these guys dont rreally feature in what was great during that time. Deacon Blue were a great band, Dont get me wrong. Fellow Hoodlums is a great album but the Stereophonics?? Nah..... why did they just play that song at half-speed? Not great. Underrated?..... nah, overrated all day long.
I was at Donington for a word-for-word performance exactly the same as this one. I was the biggest Phonics fan you can imagine up until that show and the Wembley show that followed. J.E.E.P was not a bad record by any means, but the band's live shows suffered horribly after 'Performance...' Even the faster tunes were being played at a slower, can't-be-arsed pace, add to that the departure of Mr Cable and a seemingly neverending inflation of Kelly's ego and they lost the plot. Very sad times :(
No phones in the hands of the crowd. Just everyone taking it in and enjoying the gig. 🙌
quite simply you just dont get music as good as this anymore......long live OASIS and THE STEREOPHONICS real genuine heavyweights of british music!

The 2 most underrated bands since 1980 are Stereophonics and Deacon Blue. If anyone knows better, let me know!
Supergrass
Big Country
