I love how everyone says that the apple watch sucks just becasue its made by Apple. The damn thing hasn't even come out yet and people are judging it solely on 3D renderings and fancy animations! Wait until its out to make a judgment.
The weatherproofing on the apple watch sucks. In tests apple was "disappointed" with the apple watch results. Whereas the gear s is fully waterproof, and can even be worn in heavy rain (especially useful in the UK, eu and most parts of asia, where there is a lot of heavy rainfall). I'd take the gear s over the apple watch any day.
Like I said in my comment, you are making a judgment on a product that hasn't been released yet. I'm not sure where you got your information that Apple said they were "disappointed," so a link to where you found that would be great. The Gear S is definitely a good smartwatch, I must say, considering that it can be used without a companion device.

A quick question that was not dealt with in that video. For me the biggest issue would be having to remove the watch from my wrist to charge up the battery. I'm sure then the type of wrist band becomes an issue. I use a conventional digital watch that never is removed from my wrist. Thanks for posting your video!

Hmm what I noticed between the between the main rivals (apple/samsung) was that where samsung was adverting it's features, the iwatch advert mainly advertised what it looked like? Perhaps they want to keep its features a surprise, or perhaps it'll be as superficial as it is being portrayed?
You have a point, however the thin bezels in the moto 360 make it more appealing to me but definitely the LG g watch R and the moto 360 are the two best choices, and the Apple watch has a terrible design, and the UI is really not convenient on such a small display
I've been happy with my Gear 2 Neo for 5 months now ...... it's the perfect size and slim profile. Most other smartwatches are too thick. Battery life is anywhere from 3-5 days depending on usage and settings. Also has no knobs on the side. Screen is very vibrant. And it's only about $200.
How was the Apple Watch on here as the "best smartwatch" in October of 2014? Back then, we knew next to nothing about it, and now we know that Apple has already considered the smartwatch as somewhat of a failure before even releasing it. They spent many months on features that won't be included in the final release because they wouldn't work. It shouldn't even have been mentioned in this video. My order is this: Zenwatch, Pebble, Moto 360, G Watch R, Gear S.
I have a Galaxy S5 and the new Gear S, I'm not biased just let me put that out there. Apple make great feeling products with the metal they use, I really does feel good in hand. But then again Note 4 and Galaxy Alfa have metal too... Okay okay back to the watch. I love the fact that the Gear S had stand alone capability and if I can not fine my phone ANYWHERE I can simply press 'find device' and it's right on the table where I left it XD. The Gear S is really an amazing device that takes some getting used to but that happens relatively quick. The Tizen software is nice and smooth, never lags even when EVERY app is open not all devices can say that. Apple Watch hasn't come out yet but I'm pretty sure it doesn't have the ability to call or message but who knows I don't research it very often. Let's see how this all unfolds in 2015, peace!

I just got the Gear S, and I love it. I've always hated apple, so apple lovers, don't read this because there will be a lot of hate from this. I think apple is nothing more than another phone company now, they were very intuitive with their original iPhone, but, lately, Samsung and other Android devices have been leading the competition. Apple was a leader, now, they are a follower, they bragged about features that came out in their iPhone 6 that most Android devices have had for years! Hell, they made the 6 Plus to try to get the people who like the bigger screen to get the iPhone, which is originally and Android idea. It's Outrageous! I admit, the Apple Watch does look somewhat cool, but looks are deceiving. The Apple Watch, along with every iPhone ever, is nothing more than a fashion statement, people own them to be cool, to fit in. But in the end, the Gear S is better because it does look good, it works very well, very smooth (processor and feel of it), and very dependable. I don't even know how the Apple Watch is even on this list, it copied Android's idea, it only works for iPhone, while most Android watches work with other Android phones. The only reason why the Apple Watch will sell is because Apple worshippers, also known as communists, will never get it through their skull that Android is simply better at this point. Apple steals ideas from the smart people from any other phone company, and then sells it as their own. Case Closed. Screw you Apple, you would be nothing if you didn't have a depleting army of loyalists.

The only thing better of the Apple watch was the ad and the psychedelic music (keeping the iDrones in their iWorship trance ) The MOTO and LG seem the most useful and less outrageous pricing and the LG ad was also pretty hilarious. Visually more dramatic than the animation was good and definitely the most unintentionally funny :P
