Thanks for the emergency tab advise just done it, and also the helmet curtain 100% why there is no option is beyond me.
Atleast it has the tabs unlike my x-lite, but it's silly that they come hidden inside. Hopefully you never need them, but glad I could help.
And yes, the lack of chin curtain is on of the biggest reasons I can't use this as a year round helmet
@@KairyuRider also apparently the shoei x-12, x-14 helmet curtain can be used on the Arai xd4.
No not just a name difference. Same model helmet but the 3 is designed for the rounder Asian head shape.
Yes, I noticed that. Causes me trouble so probably won't buy another arai.
Won't pay double to import a usa helmet that was made 40 min from here
Get a WeePro fog insert and throw the pinlock in the bin, they fit the XD-4 well and it is a huge upgrade. I am not sure of it's endurance but it has lasted 18 months and I'd happily replace it when the time comes.
Does it fit the full visor like shoeis or is it just 2/3?
@@KairyuRider It is a universal fit so it does not have full coverage but I didn't find this to be an issue. My sight lines were still fine when the outside parts of the visor fogged and it was much clearer than my pinlock ever was during sunshine, rain or fogging. I found it very hard to get the pinlock sealed on the XD4's curved visor so it may have never worked as intended. They are inexpensive so you can try it out for little risk.
Another tip is putting foam on the peak to stop high pitched whistling at higher speeds. Search this platform for xd-4 whistling.
D rings are used im arai since its the safest way to strap a helmet. I only buy D rings helmets for that reason
I'm not 100% sure but I think Arai offers measure your head and custom make helmet liner.
Shoei does that.
Arai has a liner that you can tare off thin layers of the pads to fit you. But not on the forehead. So arai has round heads in Asia, intermediate oval in the west

Hi man I have a question about Arai helmets on the Japanese market, I have very round head shape and every Arai helmet in Europe ( I’m from Ireland 🇮🇪) is oval head shape so I always have a problem with the right size 😒 my size is 56.5 so I can’t get “S” which I should and I always have to go for “M” 57-58 and as always is to big 😩 is any chance to contact you my friend by email and order proper Arai size “S” 55-56 from Japan 🇯🇵 for Japanese 🙏 thank you 🙏
