- Bass Tracker Classic/XL/Heritage upgrades, modifications and deck upgrades. Thanks guys for tuning in to see how I extended the casting deck in a cheap efficient way. These small tracker boats are awesome for shallow water fishing and take me just about anywhere I want to go. Looks great! Did the same thing a few years ago with my 86’ tracker. Gutted the entire thing and rebuilt all the decks and built in new compartments. Never even had a back deck son needed to reframe everything. Huge upgrade having the extra standing and storage space. Nice video man!

I have a 2021 tracker classic I've been wanting to do this to. Nice video, and nice new storage! That's the one major downfall I have with this boat, that and the livewell size because I do tournaments.

Recent subscriber, awesome video and deck extension design! I recently got a used 2019 and as a bigger guy definitely need that additional room. Couple questions, did Dylan: A) Attach the extension directly to the boat or is it free to move around or take out? B) Total weight of the extension deck? C) Have any specs of the aluminum frame ? Thanks I’ll will certainly be trying to something like this on my rig. Good luck fishing!
thanks man... it is free floating so it can be taken out whenever... i would guess around 50 pounds... i don't as he did it all, i dont think he kept any records of measurement though

Nice set up. I have a similar tracker just older and also upgraded to a 24v trolling motor and would like to know your set up in the back with your batteries and fuel. Does having all 3 batteries on one side make you lean hard to that side?
no, i havent noticed a difference at all. the 24 volt system is night and day better

How did you get that foot trolling tray installed since I noticed there is aluminum brace across or did you cut brace aluminum?
Mine didn’t have an aluminum brace there if I can remember right

If your electronics are buggy, I would check the wiring. May have to up the gauge size.
Does Dylan (Dillon?) sell plans for that deck? I can eyeball it all I want, but can’t beat actual on paper prints. Framework atleast.
Your trolling motor wiring should be ran on the opposite side of your graph wiring. That can cause interference a lot of the time. Hope that helps.

Who designed your deck? I would love to have that person build me one and I would but it and pay the shipping cost if it could be built to where I could assemble it myself to my boat. That deck is awesome.

did you have to change out the wiring or the trolling motor plug to switch to the 80lb?
I didn’t have to switch the wiring... but I do think I had to switch the trolling motor receptacle
You are getting interference because you have your Garmins hooked up to your troller motor battery and the troller causes that interference to the screens and sonars. Either get a lithium 24 volt purpose built specific to that troller motor so you can run one battery EXCLUSIVE to the boats accessories and electronics alone or hook up your navs back up to the engine cranking battery.
The way I run mine is a 3 battery as well, 1 AGM for the cranking battery, 1 AGM for the accessories and electronics exclusively and 1 24v purpose built lithium battery for the troller. It's a killer setup and one setup never interferes with the other.
Maybe you resolved the issue already because this video is now 7 months old or so, but if you haven't this is the fix for that. NIce boat by the way. It reminds me of mine. ;)
Thanks for the info but the graphs are hooked up to the cranking battery, I think the main issue was the gauge of the wire

I'd like to do something like that, but having the 36v trolling motor I think it would just be too heavy. Plus the open area is good for the kids and me and the woman have slept down there
I am actually running a 24 volt system currently... and yeah that extra space is nice if you have multiple people in the boat

How do you mount the troll pedal? I am in the middle of buying mine 2022 and Tracker told me they cant install one because of something with the boat frame or something?
Nah they definitely could, just look up a video of mounting a recessed tray. You’ll be fine!

it wasnt, the weight of the deck was enough to keep it there. It would be better if it was bolted to the front deck though
You should make it to where you can put your rods in there through the factory rod holes

@@benw6554 yes, they make other aluminum cleaner but honestly I just cleaned the motor because the boat oxidizes no matter what

Not at all!
Was installing that recessed foot pedal a pain? How did you cut into the deck?
no, very easy... just make sure your measurements and lines are all straight and then use a jigsaw to cut it
@@VitalFishing I’m right in the middle of installing mine. And can’t for the life of me figure out where to run the drain line. The foam goes all the way to the hull. And not really wanting to just put water in the boat that won’t drain. Any help would be great! Lol thank you

You said you can run in 10in of water. I live on the river I fish and am always worried about running wide open in 3ft of water. So my question is how do you go about running new water to check if it’s safe to run? Thanks. Get vid.
just go slow at first until you are familiar with the depth... hitting your prop on the ground at idling speeds usually won't do anything

@@garrettsmith2310 there is nothing but foam. The wire to the trolling motor is there but safe from a jig saw blade.

@@garrettsmith2310 yes, right on the centerline. Mine was a Panther (something) from BassPro for $79.99. very sturdy. Very easy install.

Man if ya ain’t caught a forearm or wrist on those not cut off metal self tappers extending .75-1.25 inches on those new door jams I’d get a angle grinder and clean that up.

I don't know the other answers but the carpet for newer Trackers is 16oz cut pile boat carpet in the color Midnight Star Gray. You can buy it a million place online.
