    I use UBOX for all of my Soliom cameras. I have 4 Soliom cams. Have had them for around 3 years. They're working fine. Mine are the S600s.

    Hello, great video. Do you know if this supports RTSP streaming to your own hard drive or NVR platform ?

    • @nothingbutgadgets
      @nothingbutgadgets  Місяць тому

      I doubt it. This is a 4G device, not a Wi-Fi device. The only communication possible with it is via 4G, thus making it very costly to stream continuously 24/7. Additionally, it is solar-powered and cannot run full-time.

    Excellent video sir! Have many questions since I'm just getting it set up. So this camera does not connect via WIFI? And if I have to use the SIM card, do I have to sign up for monthly plan? There are no "bare -bones" free options? Do I need to charge it for 10-13 hours prior to use? Can I even set up the app while it's charging? Is there a way to turn off the alarm? (Don't want to wake up the neighbors)...lol
    Thank u in advance!

      Hi. Thanks for commenting. To answer your questions. This is a 4G only camera and has no WiFi option. Yes, you will need to sign up for a plan, which can be as low as $10 a month. Unfortunately, there are no bare bones free options. No, you do not need to charge it up before use as the camera should come with around a 75% charge from the factory. Yes you can set it while it is charging. Yes you can turn the alarm siren off.
      Hope this helps. Feel free to ask more questions if you have them.

      Thank u for your response. I thought after the 30-day free trial, I could just use the micro SD card they provided for storage going forward, and avoid paying any monthly subscription...(?). Also, I haven't gotten my validation email from them yet. Will I need that to add my wife as a user? 10:09 @@nothingbutgadgets

      This camera does not have Push Email Notifications. I explain this at 10:36 in the video.
      I want to clarify that the camera will continue to function without a Data plan. The data plan is only for remote access. If you install a Micro-SD card, the camera will continue to store captures on that even without a Data plan. However, the only way for you to view those captures is to remove the SD card from the camera and read it on your phone or computer.

    We just put one up. Notifications not working and also I cannot find anything on this.. is the camera suppose to automatically follow while recording?

    • @nothingbutgadgets
      @nothingbutgadgets  27 днів тому

      Try using the UBox app instead of the Solium app. I never could get notifications to work on the Solium app.
      This camera does not have the Follow feature.

    Help! I have this camera. How did you get the bottom screws in? The mount has 4 screw holes. The top two are accessible. The lower two are blocked by the wide camera housing. I can't use them. How did you do it? It doesn't appear the camera is removable from the mount.

      I just used a long extension and angled it in. There is no other way, as far as I can tell.

      @@nothingbutgadgets thank you for your comment. After I made my comment. I powered up the camera and tilted and panned it so the narrowed most part allowed me more room. Not perfect. But manageable. Screws will be at an angle. Wasn't thought through well at the mfg

    I purchased 2 diffrent kinds of solar 4g cameras and with both i could not get push motion detection notifications on my cellphone. Do these send push notifications to your phone. To be clear zetronix and premium invention v4 both say they send push notifications but from my experience they didnt and getting support to help you forget about it you are on your own.

    • @nothingbutgadgets
      @nothingbutgadgets  Рік тому

      On Android phones you have to go in manually allow the apps to send push notifications. However, the Solium app did not work even after I enable the permissions. The goo news is the the UBOX app did work with this camera and did receive push notifications.
      Personally, I would buy the Reolink PT Go. I have in and it is by far the best 4G camera I have tested. The Reolink app is far better than any other I have tested as well.

    I’m disappointed in this camera. Quality is perfect as well as the controls. The night vision is cool as well as the light but that’s where it stops. I get 0 motion activation with this camera even with the schedule left open all day and sensitivity all the way up. Only recordings it saves is user wake up which is really dumb imo. I got this camera to protect my property not watch footage I’m already seeing when I open the app. My camera is about 7 hours away. Next time im up there I’m going to try the ubox app.

    • @nothingbutgadgets

      The Ubox is much better than the Soliom app. That may be your problem. However, you may not need to travel to the camera to switch apps. It might be possible to add the camera to Ubox without traveling to it. I am not entirely sure if this will work, but it is easier than driving 7 hours if it does, so it might be worth a try.
      Download and install the Ubox app. Create a new account using a different email than the one used to create account for the Soliom app. Now got to the Soliom app but DO NOT log into the camera. Click on the little gear icon that shows above the camera window. It should bring up the share setting for the camera. follow the steps and enter the email address you used to set up the Ubox app. Once finished, open the Ubox app and select the ME section at the bottom right of the screen. Now click on My Friends and accept the invite sent to you from the Soliom app.
      Let me know if this works. I could not test it out because I gave the camera in the video away to a friend who needed it (I do this with all the gifted products in my videos). I hope it works for you though.

      @@nothingbutgadgets good attempt and tips! But unfortunately looks like it does not work. I can get the invite sent from the soliom app but when I go back to ubox under my friends the invite never shows up which is a shame. Thanks for the tip though!

      It can work with any GSM carrier. You just need a SIM card that works with the GSM carrier of your choice. I am not familiar with Xfinity, so I am not sure what their network is.

      @@stevewigginton2318 So, I did a little research, and Xfinity is an MVNO provider that functions on the Verison network. Here is a card from Eiotclub that functions on Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile. You just pop this card into your camera, and it will automatically connect to the network with the best signal. One card for all networks. AD Eitoclub Triple Play SIM card: amzn.to/49qGovA
