    Here are 2 of my pro baseball athletes Christin Stewart and Parker Meadows on some various isometrics including some 90 degree eccentric isometrics.
    Big shoutout to Parker for recently getting selected to joint the 40 man roster for Detroit Tigers meaning he’ll likely be playing in the MLB big leagues next year.

    We do a variety of isometrics in our training. Although most of them involve 2-5 sec holds in the form of 90 degree eccentric isometrics (holding the lengthened position with 90 Deg joint angles) we also do concentric holds (i.e. holding the top of a pullup), overcoming isometrics (pushing against an immovable object, yielding isometrics (holding a position without the weight moving you), & isometrics in mid range positions i.e. 45 deg positions.
    With that said there are 5 benefits of isometric training in general.
    1.Increased motor control, stability, & balance.
    2.Improved muscle mass & strength (these result more so from 90 Deg Eccentric Isometrics as well as mixing in static holds at the concentric position after normal reps.
    3. Enhanced power, speed, & explosiveness from improved potentiation & neuromuscular efficiency.
    4. Improved joint health & recover as well as bulletproofing the joints & connective tissue.
    5. Improving form & biomechanics as they provide greater proprioception & kinesthetic awareness ultimately allowing the athlete to fine-tune their form.
