- I wanted more room for dumb ideas so naturally I find a way to make it happen. To do this I need to use landfill for every space of the map instead of buying islands. This is a very long and slow process, and as it turns out nothing wants to spawn on 90% of the filled land for some reason. But mission accomplished, no NPC's to take up my valuable real estate. Forager gameplay with my commentary as always!

You can actually place landfill by clicking on it while it is in your inventory, it will come up with the same gui as when placing the other buildings. You do have to move a bit, but it is much easier to place, and you only have to move whenever you get to the point where the screen no longer pans with your placement

Caught the video of the stream, after watching the process for this idea, I knew it would take a good while. Definitely appreciate the video version for the rest of it. It's a bummer nothing seems to be spawning though. Keep up the good work!
When you fill in every water tile with landfill by hand, instead of buying the land, you don't get credited with owning any of those lands.
Also, none of the NPCs or puzzles or museums or treehouses or boss puzzles spawn on those lands until you officially own them by choosing the Buy New Lands option.
You just end up with a bunch of empty biomes, with nothing on them, and can freely build on them without NPCs and puzzles and buildings getting in the way.
Nothing spawns naturally on lands that you don't officially own.
It is once you buy the lands officially, that the NPCs and puzzles and stuff spawn on the islands that you bought by using the Buy New Lands option.
You would have to artificially spawn the natural resources and animals by using scrolls if you want to have what normally spawns on those lands that you don't officially own.
You would need a Slime Sigil if you want to manually spawn Slimes on a land that you don't officially own, if it doesn't spawn naturally on your starting island.
It spawns the Slime King, which spreads smaller slimes around it the longer you keep the boss alive.
The thing that lets you gamble one of your hearts for a chance at choosing between one of 2 perks, doesn't spawn on land that you don't officially own.
To get slimes in the first place, without buying new lands, if slimes don't spawn naturally on your starting island, you're going to have to win slimes out of the Slot Machine, or at least some Leather with which you can build a Market that you can buy slimes from.
4 of the 6 items in the Slot Machine are always gems, like Amethyst, Emerald, Ruby, and Topaz.
The other 2 items are always random.
Could be Leather, Hide, a Coin, a Slime, a Lavender, a Nightshade, an Artifact, a Pigment, a Potion, a Scroll, a Bottled item, a Food, an Arrow, literally just about anything.
It costs 85 coins per try, and you have to match at least 2 of the same item to get the item.
The reward is how many of that item you matched.

It is possible that you can softlock yourself in Forager, if you destroy every landfill tile and bridge in your world, including the starting island, and then sell all your landfills and wood and bridges so you don't have a way to make any more bridges or landfills, and are stranded on one single tile.

the reason when there is floating objects is that if you build a island the game registers it as a island and starts spawning things on where the island is. but its not there. thus forth them spawning on water

its possible the game is coded not to spawn anything on islands you haven't bought yet so you are only getting spawns on the landfill in the spaces between the islands

I don't think the biome will even activate if you just buy one tile, I'm fairly certain that one tile is the only one that would work.
At least looking at what I see from your green land, only the 3-4 you own are actually producing anything.

You also need the Obliterator, to remove the green starting island & replace it with landfills (to get rid of the slimes & farm-animals)
(That can also be a good test for the theory of "you have to buy one of the other biomes", if the green area is only landfill & the slimes keep spawning, then the theory is true, if the slimes stop spawning, then the theory is false.)

Something tells me the reason nothing is spawning out there is because of the lack of islands purchased. Likely without them being treated as 'bought', the game doesn't consider those areas as being open and available for spawning things. So you've basically got a blank canvas of things to do (pretty obvious lol)

I play on the PS4 and it’s only version 1. I tried the pc and well what what so much insane content. I plan to start over each version for fun.

what if you cover everywhere but the green with flooring? would it still make one crazy mega biome? would it allow things to spawn far away?
remember what happend with resources spawning when you placed down floors? well maybe try to connect all the other biomes with the grass lands might kick start resource spawns ;)

i think this is a prime example for either a mod or even an official change to the game code, to allow for biome spawning even if you didn't buy the land. it's how treasure island was built. one landfill at a time.
