- Trooping the colour 2018, the official celebration of Her Majesty the Queen's 92nd birthday. Over 1400 soldiers are on parade, plus 200 horses and over 400 musicians of the foot guards and mounted bands of the household cavalry.

War 2018 aber auch super Wetter. Sonnig aber nicht zu heiß. Von der Teichbrücke im St. James Park konnte man sogar die Queen sehen. Danach war ich dann an der Mall. Karten hatten wir leider keine bei der Verlosung bekommen.

Nice to see the trooping of the colour is appreciated in other parts of the World. The Coldstreams looked well. I was watching a UA-cam the other day where they stated the ordinary Guardsman ceremonial tunic comes in at approx £2,000 and real gold is incorporated in the officers and senior ranks gold facings. Nice to see HRH Prince Philip present God bless him.
The Drum majors State Dress coats ( the yellow coats they are wearing at the front of the massed bands) are £10,000 each.

If the English can do anything, it's formal training. We Germans can't do that (anymore) - but we're quick with the 108 mm tank guns, 80/120 mm mortars and 155 mm artillery. You just have to set priorities!

Good lord... The sloppy ranks were a disgrace.. Seriously what the hell has happened to the Guards
should have been made to wear bearskin over turban it spoils the whole thing. The bearskin is traditional when we break with tradition there is no point in trooping the colours.
The Sikhs have served, fought and died in the service of Britain for over 150 years. The debate as to whether they should be allowed to wear their turbans in the police, army or any other branch of service to the crown was settled decades ago. Personally, I would like to see a Sikh regiment in the British army. Nothing looks more purpose built than a Sikh in military uniform.
