Thank you! I had 60 lbs of water in one of my doors. Took my Corolla to dealership and they drained. Now a year later I have two more doors with water in the door. Those freaks should have removed all the plugs on all the doors...so thanks for this video!
I can't believe how much water came out your door 😭I just got a 2019 hatchback and heard about this from The Car Care Nut. I took a plug of each door; no water had built up, but either way I'm glad to have heard about it and that you confirmed it!
Thanks my dear! I just found out that my 2020 Corolla had water when I drive my daughter car today, wonder why I heard this noise of water before, I thought she had gallon of water some where in the car. I didn't know what should I do until I Google and found your video, I'm going to follow what you show on video. Thanks again.
Thank you soooo much for this info because i have water in both of my passenger side doors and was wonder how the heck do i get out and its been in there for about a week now. Much Thanks.
I just got a used 2020 Corolla and I thought I was tripping. I took the plugs off and the passenger door had water in it. It wasn’t a lot thankfully. I’m keeping the plugs off! Thank you 🙏🏾 Toyota needs to do better
Removing all of them will not damage the car or have water come in the car correct? I saw someone say just the first one on the front doors and the last one on the rear doors. I took all of mine off.
My boy I appreciate you heavy, thought I was tripping balls I must've cleaned my car 3x thinking there was a bottle of water lodged somewhere. Are these plugs suppose to be off from factory?
Thanks, man. Just did this today and a flood came out of my passenger side front door. But the bigger issue seems to be why does the water get in there in the first place? I thought the doors were supposed to be water tight.
The design of the car seals and rain drainage , but dont worry. Just keep the plugs off, no water will get in the car, and you wont have water in your door anymore
Does the water cause any damage to wires, mold, rust, etc? I have to drain every week or two and idk if i should get my seals checked or redone. Any suggestions?
Take the plus out and keep them off . Water will not get inside your vehicle, after doing so , my car hasn’t retained water in the doors . I guess the dealers just forget to take the water plugs off . Each door has 3 plugs on the bottom for drainage
do i need to put the drain plugs back in? i been hearing a slushing noise for a week thinking it was my water bottle and i checked the door and it felt heavy
Definitely was a build up. Water accumulated little by little Untill your door turned into a pool . Just keep the drain plugs off and you won’t have to worry about that anymore !
Yes you’ll be fine. I assume the dealer forgets to remove them from the bottom of the door . If you leave them on , your door will continue to accumulate water again .
@@john_the_don sounds good, you don’t think by keeping the plugs out the door the interior could be damaged? Lol I’m thinking ahead I appreciate your feedback
@migloo1 haha no worries 😉. No keeping them out will save you , if you like you can store them away somewhere but you will not need them . I’ve had my plugs off since 2022 and haven’t had any issues at all .
I got a 2024 , the water hasnt built up inside ky doors, but the seals on the windoes, after a car wash, if open and close the front doors, a splash of water comes out The other thing that is going on, is the water builds up on the door wells , on the inside , ive never owned a car thr has droplets of water inside when you open the doors, all 4 doors do it
Keep the plugs off and the water won’t accumulate and drain through your side skirts the way it should be . If you do put the plugs back . Whenever it rains , make sure to drain out because you WILL have water accumulated.
Not sure , im just an average person who ran into this issue when i had my corolla SE and wanted to share this with everyone who may have encountered it. Thanks for tuning in !
Why would water get in door? Seems like a terrible design flaw that will rust from inside never had new car but i never heard of this problem before must be a new car thing if it aint a design flaw.
Thats a factory issue / design , ive seen it happen with older nissans and toyotas as well, but a car in the 2020’s? Thats terrible . So i made this video to save folks time with going to the dealers or to a local mechanic who will charge you for services . The car is wonderful, reliable, and economical, however , this issue is so far the only thing ive encountered with my 2020 SE corolla .
I saw videos on youtube and many cars brands and even older models this happens also the drain apparantly gets plugged with dirt and debree and needs to be cleaned this happens because the window seal doesnt fully protect against all the rain and thats why the doors have holes for the water to drain through. Same exact thing the door filled up like tank. I did research after watching this video as i had never heard of this to my surprise all cars had that drain holes on doors.

Holy shit you're a life saver bro. Thanks!
Big help.. big time.. thanks I thought I was going to have to take it into the dealership..

Outstanding video!!
Thank you lots of rain in California
Be safe out there !
Thank you sooo much for this!

You can but I wouldn’t recommend it because it will fill up with water again . I’ve had mine off for months now and everything has been perfect .
Mine just did it today, it hasn’t rain that hard, and it sounded like so much water, I wonder if it was a build up. Thank you so much 😊
Definitely was a build up. Water accumulated little by little Untill your door turned into a pool . Just keep the drain plugs off and you won’t have to worry about that anymore !
@@john_the_don hopefully Toyota fixes the problem for future models, these cars are too new to be doing this, thanks again 🙂
Thank you for this!
Glad it was helpful!
I noticed this today so I should take all plugs out and the door will be fine? I don’t understand why there are in there.
Yes you’ll be fine. I assume the dealer forgets to remove them from the bottom of the door . If you leave them on , your door will continue to accumulate water again .
Greatly appreciate the video… do you know if the water build up can damage the stereo system?
I’m sure it can , or even decrease the quality of the sound coming out . Just keep the plugs off the door and you’ll be good to go 💪🏽

Same problem 2020 highlander
I just found out today. I have the same model . Hell lot of water
Thank you!!!
Thanks so much! I experienced the same problem. So I have to do this every time it rains
Just keep the plugs off , you won’t have any issues in doing so . Glad to help 🙏🏼
can i just leave the plug put or will it drain between my running board ?
Keep the plugs off and the water won’t accumulate and drain through your side skirts the way it should be . If you do put the plugs back . Whenever it rains , make sure to drain out because you WILL have water accumulated.
Thanks.
Thanks!
Thank you so much.
Your welcome ! Thank you for watching 🙏🏼
Im experiencing the same issue...If this is a common problem, why hasnt Toyota addressed and informed toyota owners..?
Looks like it is I’ve helped multiple in our positions. Im not sure why Toyota doesn’t address or notify Corolla owners .
Thanks just rain in California, because of Hurrican Hilary. I will do this to my wife's car.
It happened with my 2023 Nissan Sentra too.
Thanks, it happened to my 2019 RAV
Thank you for tuning in !
good looking ma boy save me a trip to the dealer 😅

I felt the same way , my car sounded like a fish tank
I just got a 24 corolla I had to do that to 😂
Does Toyota have to fix this for free?
Just unplug the drain plugs on your door. Maybe they will do it for free, or maybe they will charge you .
Please Viral this video. I have the same corolla And I am facing the same issue.
You the fucking goats 🐐
Glad I was able to help 🙏🏼
Imagine this happening where its really cold. You get your car washed, then the water overnigjt freezes. What an idiotic thing
🫣🫢 That’s the manufacturer for you .
