- The EJ1 Track Car is officially ready for the 2024 Track Season! The final piece to the LS VTEC puzzle was to get the engine broken in and get a tune on the car and that's what I'll be covering in this video. Thank you to Nate for taking the time to tune my car just like the old days. I didn't quite make the power I was expecting but I think it will be more than enough for a momentum car and I will be doing a little something to try and bump the power figure up in the future. My GS-R makes 210whp with nothing but a PLM 4-2-1 header, Skunk2 intake manifold, bigger injectors, CAI, Walbro 250 (I think? Have to check), and a catless 2.5in exhaust with a resonator. The only thing holding it back is a fuel rail.
Hopefully going LS-VTEC with all the stuff I have will net more power.
My lsvtec mods:
-Bone Stock b16a2 head with skunk2 lmas
-3layer head gasket
-skunk2 pro series intake
-stock ls fuel rail,ls injectors,throttle body
B18B1 block
-b16 ycp high comp pistons,stock ls rods and crank
-ARP Rod bolts and Headstuds
-4-1 header to a 2.5in spec d tuning catback exhaust
-high pressure la oilpump...
MADE 155hp with 135 tq...gonna get some type r cams soon n bigger injectors n shoot for 170-180 next go at the dyno🤟🏼
Damn I would have thought with pistons and a b16 head you'd already be making 170-180
@@AHS_motorsport my head still had stock b16 cams in it,my tuner said I can add some type r cams I'd be able to push 170-180🤟🏼but this motor is rowdy as shit

@@AHS_motorsport haven't seen any around in my area in months,really depends.last I seen some were I think $250-$300

Go to a 3” intake. That one that’s in there looks really small. I know you took off the filter but that’s not the restriction, the restriction is the size of piping!
Valid point. It is a 2.5" tube but throttle body is around 3" so I can see that being a problem
@@AHS_motorsport ah it looked smaller than that. It may not be as big of a restriction as I thought but def can hold it back some.

I've had many turbo civics, last one made 400whp non Vtec and I think I can confidently say that I don't want a turbo Honda for circuit use just because of the power band and all the extra heat and complexity it adds to a simple car
When you went LS VTEC instead of just LS I felt betrayed ....but what ever it takes I guess you're there to compete so I get it.
Did u just run a basemap for the first 600 miles?
I took one of the base maps Included with HTS and street tuned it on the way to and from work when I was breaking the engine in. I have a limited knowledge on how to tune but nothing too crazy
What wheels and wheel specs are you running and how did they fit with out rubbing?
Konig hexaform 15x8 +25 with 225/45/15 tire. I have -3 degrees of camber and the fenders are heavily rolled so I don't rub
What diameter exhaust is on it now? What size injector are you going to? 350cc?
It's got an ancient 2.5" exhaust on it that's probably falling apart inside and I'm on stock 240cc injectors. Still haven't decided what I'm gonna use next but OEM RDX injectors seem like a good move

While I agree to an extent the nearest e85 station is an hour from my house and I don't think the maybe 5-10 HP increase would be worth making that drive and having to build an entire new fuel system
