  • In April 2016 BSES Founder Cassaundra Henske and videographer Nathan Penney sat down with Liz McLaughlin, a mother who lost her son Alex to mental illness and suicide on April 17 2014.
    Liz, who is a Social Worker herself, understands first hand the detrimental effects of both stigma and loss by suicide. She offers heartfelt insight as she bravely shares her family's story in hopes of spreading awareness and keeping Alex's memory alive. Her hope is to inspire those struggling to "wait for a new day, hold on a little bit longer."
