    3500-6000 RPM is NOT where it's the happiest. That guy is full of crap.

      TheRider I can understand that. But a dealer who lies like that probably doesn't deserve your business.

      ryanhayn He probably meant for putting around town and cruising. Not for acceleration

    • @friedrichnietzsche1327
      @friedrichnietzsche1327 9 років тому

      ryanhayn I hope this was not a floor model. He should have lied to him that it was happiest at 1000 rpm because the guy was whipping (I'm assuming) a brand new, not yet broken in bike like it was already his....you're not supposed to run that 899 over 5k rpms with the break in oil (so not over 5k before 600 miles).

    • @Scasacs

      Desmosnob do you feel that this bike is a lot more powerful than most 600cc supersports?

    • @desmosnob
      @desmosnob 9 років тому

      Well, I haven't ridden most 600cc supersports to be honest. However, in terms of "power" the 899 Panigale is the equivalent of a 750 inline four. Given that, I would say yes, it is more powerful than the most 600cc.

    • @fabr1c1om
      @fabr1c1om 9 років тому

      +Scasacs Its more than enough. I personally do not understand who needs more than this. I have an 899 and never tried the 1199 or the 1299 so maybe Im talking shit =)

    Ride defensively, there is no room for motorcyclists to make any errors, because even if it was the cars fault, which is almost always the case, you are the one who dies or get injured, not the car driver.

    • @therider6529
      @therider6529  9 років тому

      I just had to sign some liability form with my name, address, and signature. Then they copy my drivers license and that's it. The weird thing is that they gave me the only liability form that I signed so I could technically toss the form and not have any troubles.

      Fabricio Martinez Agreed. I guess I would also be scared to death of someone stealing it. Parking a Ducati in public also puts a huge bulls-eye on it. Where I live, unless its physically chained to a stationary object, thieves will just lift it into the back of a pickup and won't even think twice (alarm or not).

    +TheRider I hope that guy was telling you to keep it between3500 and 6000 RPM because it was new. No way that the Ducati 899 is happiest there. You don't begin to feel the true pull until you get it in the higher RPM's. The low and middle ranges leave a little to be desired. Hope you can get one to a track to really open it up. I took my 2015 Ducati 899 to Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca last week an was whipping up on my friend with a CBR 1000.
