I recently visited Japan and wanted to buy a handcrafted knife directly from the craftsman who made it.
Unfortunately, I wasn't organised enough to visit a smithy for this to happen.
The next best thing is purchasing one of these knives - which I have just done. Seeing 3 generations working in the shop together, including a 10th generation craftsman, is incredibly special.
I look forward to many, many years using the knife (and handing it down to one of my children).

Firstly, what a great documentary! Secondly, I lived and worked in japan and loved it! Third, your father is blessed with good health, he is basically the same age as my mother who is almost wheel chair bound and certainly not capable of forging steel. Fourth your dad doesn't look 90 or close to it either! Super Sugoi!! You have another subscriber! And great your son is also involved! I have some knives from Takashi Saji I bought while I was there. Now I know about you guys!
