Read. Read your Bibles. I did. It was the book that brought me out of Christianity. It wasn't Dawkins. It wasn't atheists or agnostics. It wasn't any other book, just the Bible. Abandoning your beliefs is hard, giving up the support of friends and family who are believers is hard. It's scary to no longer have the answers that you think you had. I met Teresa several times and personally I think she just found it easier to fit back into being a believer to fit back into her old life that had rejected her and that now welcomes her back. Human beings are very good at fooling ourselves when it makes life easier, heaven is a perfect example of that. I also know atheist who even though they know it is irrational, still have a deep set fear of hell that they can't quite shake, Teresa was like that. Hell is a very powerful tool used by religion to fill you with fear to not believe.

Yep, from saving souls to now an atheist. Even to me now, the word atheist has a bit of a negative connotation. Watched the whole video, listened to the words closely, and I don't have too much to say. It seems like she shouldn't have ever been a pastor. God was pushed onto her, and the people around her really pushed that "Christian bubble" onto her, and I feel saddened by that. I am a Christian, but I think for myself.

Where does attraction come from? I am gay. I don't like being gay because of the culture I live in. I am attracted to the same sex a lot more then the opposite sex. It started when I was young, I had crushes on boys. I did not choose to have these crushes and desires. Is it a virus? A curse? I used to think if I just prayed and gave my life to God, that he could chance me. Never worked. We are all born with an Achilles heel syndrome. In your case it is same gender attraction to others equally powerful trends toward pedophilia, rape, murder, deception, stealing, etc. The demands of the flesh are insatiable ie. greed can never be satisfied. Where does attraction come from? I am gay. I don't like being gay because of the culture I live in. I am attracted to the same sex a lot more then the opposite sex. It started when I was young, I had crushes on boys. I did not choose to have these crushes and desires. Is it a virus? A curse? I used to think if I just prayed and gave my life to God, that he could chance me. Never worked. Then I am supposed to feel ashamed and hate myself and ask for forgiveness for something I had no control over. Some say, well its actions I control. So having sex. So if I have sex, I am do be doomed for eternity in torment. If I act on a basic human instinct to have sex, I am doomed. I have to repress my sexuality, be unhappy and alone in life as my way to get into heaven. Doesnt seem right, or fair. It makes little sense.
We are all born with an Achilles heel syndrome. In your case it is same gender attraction to others equally powerful trends toward pedophilia, rape, murder, deception, stealing, etc. The demands of the flesh are insatiable ie. greed can never be satisfied. The onus rests with each individual to overcome all evil. This is impossible in our human capacity. However all things are possible for those who are willing to overcome these unfulfilling curses by first repenting their sin and yielding to the supernatural powers of the Holy Spirit freely available to all mankind. Jesus paid the price of all who repent and accept His atoning sacrifice. He will provide the courage, wisdom and strength to overcome the flesh and the powers and principalities of darkness and attain a real fulfillment in this life and onward to eternal paradise in God's Kingdom of Heaven
It takes courage to accept when we are wrong especially when we have inherited tendencies toward what we know in our heart is both wrong and unnatural. Being gay has been accepted in today's courts and in the culture as natural and as being an inherent, a condition that some being are born with and therefore acceptable. WE could also say that serial murderers, rapists, thieves muggers and countless other inherent compulsions as conditions which cannot be helped because we are born with them. Either Jesus was no god or the author just invented the scene. So why should we trust anything as Jesus broke his promise or author just wrote wrong things.

Wow again this story is another amazing testimony to the cunning guile of the adversary who deceived this lady and planted doubt in her mind and stole and killed her faith. Damn, she's boring, I know she tried like hell to make it interesting, but she drags the story in so many tangents and is not interesting, and why should a pastor or preacher leaving the so called "faith" be more interesting than someone else who studies and deeply thinks abut religion on HIS or her own be LESS interesting than these fools who took their faith all the way to being leaders in churches?? to me it is more 'heroic' if someone on his own takes the plunge and studies and has no support with family and friends because they all turn their backs on him or her.. now that is a story. This reminds me of how the church and people believe in the prodigal son who fucks up big time and later comes back and they throw him a party, and the son who never left and behave and did everything right is basically ignored; or the one who is a damn drunk and stops drinking is praised big time and kept an eye on, and the one who NEVER had a drink to begin with is no big deal. And this story is supposed to be more inspiring than the one who never drank.
