"Back to that same old place, Sweet home Chicago" The Newports' Holiday Rhythm & Blues Review at the Acorn Theater in Three Oaks, MI, December 10, 2016. The Newports are: Mark Rongers (vocal, lead guitar), Terry Tritt (tenor sax), Ralph Whipple (trumpet), Darryl Neil X (baritone sax), Jeff Sachs (trombone, guitar), Ed Beard (keyboards), Gene Nourie (drums), Jumpin' Gene Halton (harmonica), and Bill Bielby (bass). The Newports' roots are in Chicago's south suburbs in the mid-1960s, and our playlist of blues, rock, and soul reflects the Chicago vibe of that era. We reconvened in the summer of 2014 and now perform regularly in the greater Chicago area, northwest Indiana, and southwest Michigan.
