I think you're praising it just a bit much. There are still more albums to come that i think could be album of the year. I would still give it a solid 9.5/10. Last time i liked an album this much was probably unhallowed by The Black Dahlia Murder.
i dont get these "album of the year" comments. youll see them on every bands video. you are obviously a big fan but that does not mean the album is the single best musical effort put forth by any metal band in the last 12 months

@Christopher Norris Verse 3 is basically summarizing the point of the song. Calamus is an agent of A.U.M. and is himself infected by The Drip, a shapeless entity/force/substance that is essentially, evil incarnate that binds to humans inescapably and forever. The Child Of Teeth is a character from The Lucid Collective (tbh I don’t understand this character very well but it has something to do with the protagonist of The Lucid Collective going insane and murdering his family). His job with A.U.M. is to perform human murmuration (injecting the Drip into corpses to turn them into flying fucking zombies). “Drone Corpse Aviator” from Bleed The Future is a continuation of this concept that ties it into the story of Boanet, the villain(?) of the new story.
2:24 such a tasty solo that just works so well with the rhythm guitar. Not a lot of guitarists can really get a solo to work with the rhythm guitar as well as this one does, awesome
i spent an hour to try to learn the first 40 seconds of the lyrics. i learned them...yep...can't cover it. dude actually enunciates pretty well once you learn the words
This song is insane for calming down children. Don't know why, it worked on our son since he was 3 months old, and my Wife used it at her daycare on the kids there and it worked to calm down 8 other kids who were inconsolable. Not to mention it's just a great song; but it's weird how well it speaks to children.
I came here because I offered Musubi to my girlfriend, who jokingly mentioned she was going to murder her pops, so I said Musubi and Murder would be a good Hawaiian Metal band. So I was looking up Hawaiian Metal which lead me somehow to Jason Momoa doing a Haka-type war pump in a movie of his I haven't seen before and one of the comments mentioned he invited the lead singer of this band to help him with the cadence for it because he was a fan, so here I am at the bottom of this brutal rabbit hole and I am okay with that.
0:01 - 0:09 Don't they know the rules? That's not allowed! You can't just start a song like that man it'll just give everyone the sour metal face bruh lol.
There is no bad song on the entire album. I think this is Album of the Year and an easy 10/10

From 2017? Idk it’s top 3 for sure but solid case for it. Persefone dropped a great album too
Best album I've heard since the lucid collective

[Intro]
Calamus, taken to the pen to relive
Every identity we replicate
Without will they live again within our intimate collective
Animate
All the dead we bring into it
A burrow
Of human
Memory
The pen, the feather and the needle are alike in death and life
[Verse 1]
Looking back on what had happened when the feathers had arrived
I realize I was not alone
I can recall the men had got infected by it too
Having contact with the foreign components infected them
Before, the factory was known to make the highest quality of bedding
Cutting, filling, stitching fabric with the finest down from all around the world
Yet this down flew through our death dream barrier
Intact
[Chorus]
Calamus will animate
Its contents are hostile
The A.U.M. will kill everybody not in this compound
The dead I bring to them awake
And join in flight above my head
Calamus will animate
Its contents are hostile
The A.U.M. will kill everybody not in this compound
The dead I bring to them awake
And join in flight above my head
[Verse 2]
When the ink coating the wings made contact with the workers' skin, it crept into their blood
Turning them inhumanly violent
They grabbed and tore and bit and clawed at one another and themselves
Gravity and death from loss of blood had no effect on any member of the crew during their frantic battle to relief their bodies from the ether lifting them into the air
[Verse 3]
Die, then elevate
Fusing remnants of spent bodies
Weaving bones and organs into an inverted nest dug in the ceiling
The black sludge casting out from the center as a starving bird of prey
I heard its voice and felt its need to find the child made of teeth, and begin the human murmuration
[Chorus]
Calamus will animate
Its contents are hostile
The A.U.M. will kill everybody not in this compound
The dead I bring to them awake
And join in flight above my head
Calamus will animate
Its contents are hostile
The A.U.M. will kill everybody not in this compound
The dead I bring to them awake
And join in flight above my head
[Bridge 1]
Its banshee wail demanding feed
I hear its pain and become its keeper
I rip the living from the night
Like pulling worms from soil
[Bridge 2]
A.U.M. watches these sky burials
Calamus will animate
Calamus will animate
[Guitar solo]
[Verse 4]
The boy lay like a wet mound of dust on the rotting factory floor
I knew the black fluid hid itself in the deformed corpse of this child
Finally, after hours into cutting, lifting, pulling, sawing, crunching, clipping, I had found it
My crude autopsy revealed
Bounty nesting in replace of the marrow in the young one's bones
The second I saw it, it saw me
I knew its face, changing relentlessly
It was The Drip
I had it contained as instructed
Filling up many clusters of hypodermic needles with the matter
I administered it into a new subject each night, a new life
One with every full rotation of the clock
I've seen those hands meet then disengage a thousand times
[Chorus]
Calamus will animate
Its contents are hostile
The A.U.M. will kill everybody not in this compound
The dead I bring to them awake
And join in flight above my head
Calamus will animate
Its contents are hostile
The A.U.M. will kill everybody not in this compound
The dead I bring to them awake
And join in flight above my head
[Bridge 3]
Its banshee wail demanding feed
I hear its pain and become its keeper
[Verse 5]
A.U.M. allowed me to live off the organs once the people took flight
They do not keep me against my will, yet I refuse to run
Every day I climb the stairs outside this door and view the horde of lifted dead that they conduct behind the factory walls
I must hold on to the final tier of focus
I still have to scribe these happenings in hopes that someone will know what went on here
I can feel the pressure of their unified unscripted flight pounding air down on the floorboard, just a plank's width above
[Bridge 4]
I rip the living from the night
Like pulling worms from soil
Bless you 🖤

Damn, I saw necrophagist several times. Fuckin amazing shows! Still don’t get how he played guitar and sang like that. Loved his xyphos guitar too. 🍻
That perfect 16th note fill that goes with the lyrics. Fuckin awesome.

Fact. I saw them live. They opened with this song. No warm up period. Dude just came out and slayed the place immediately.
One of the best live acts I've ever seen

TheSpliffstarEffect For Remote Tumor Seeker though.

Not to mention it's just a great song; but it's weird how well it speaks to children.
Children's brains are so abstract and undisciplined (because they're kids) so maybe hearing controlled chaos is actually soothing.
