    Congratulations Sonixinema! Incredibly beautiful library! The new UI is amazing and I love how easy it is to create your own ensemble with the mapping editor. Being able to choose between 5 different bar length also makes it super easy to use. Also it's great how many creative presets are included and how easy it is to customize the sounds! Really gorgeous! 🔥

    It sounds really wonderful! Very very nice! 🤩
    And I really like the UI and the ability to change the length and nature of the swell
    It would be a no brainer for me if I knew it was possible to change a chord or note in the middle of a swell without retriggering the sample to start over.
    I guess that's not the case? At least I didn't see it in the walkthrough.
    But again, a really good job and beautiful sound.

      So just to be clear, if I play a chord and I add a new note in the middle of a swell, the engine won't play that new note from the beginning of it's sample but rather it will start playing it from where the other sample are at?

    Does it sync to DAW time signature also? Currently I can only seem to get it so sync to DAW tempo if playing 4 4. Would be great if it synced to other time signatures too.

    • @sonixinema
      @sonixinema  7 місяців тому

      Hi - String Swells is currently designed to only sync to 4/4. We're looking at potentially expanding this to other time signatures in an update!

  • @thisislance
    @thisislance Рік тому +3

    Is that an intended effect at the peak of a swell as it goes back down? Head to 9m22s and listen through that example. It's like there's a volume blip and some extra movement in the stereo field. I don't hear that in all of them, like in the Core Articulations section of the video.

    • @sonixinema
      @sonixinema  Рік тому +1

      Hey, good question! Looking back at it, it’s just that Stefano is playing it live so the notes aren’t 100% in sync, and since some of the articulations are panned left and some right, the bar changes are happening a couple of milliseconds apart so you feel that little movement. If these are quantised in your DAW then you won't get this issue :)

  • @themesforscenes

    Very nice textures. I like the somewhat delicate sound and ethereal quality. Also, I like that the samples don't sound overly processed, imho. Beautiful stuff!

      About ready to pick this up. I've been using INTIMATE LEGATO - VIOLIN in some tracks lately, and I think STRING SWELLS would be a great addition to my orchestral template.

    sound amazing but why is there a break when on the 2 bar setting? it’s not a consistent sustained sound. it’s like the players change direction with the bow and it sounds like the sample is being retriggered.

    • @sonixinema
      @sonixinema  9 місяців тому +1

      The original recordings feature a rebow at the peak of each swell - we released an update last month which gives you the ability to remove the rebow and have a more consistent sustained sound! :)

  • @scottglasgowmusic
    @scottglasgowmusic 11 місяців тому +1

    Why does the strings restrike the note or change the bow at the top of the swell? That is really not good to my ear. Why not have them swell up and down on one bow or not make it so obvious (like the Olafur Arnalds Chamber Evolutions "Waves" patches)? Why would you do that or at least give us both options? I don't personally want them to restrike the note but I like the sound you got.

    • @sonixinema
      @sonixinema  11 місяців тому +2

      We've actually implemented this feature, so you can choose between bowed and non-bowed, and it will be released in a free update coming very soon! 🙂

    • @scottglasgowmusic
      @scottglasgowmusic 11 місяців тому

      @@sonixinema GREAT! Yes, that's a huge difference for me. A restrike of the top of the cresc is not what I would want... ever. OACS is a major part of my template but it's very old and sound is, ok. Your strings sound better.

    Hi there!
    Anyway we can figure out the offset for the swells? Something that can help me adjust my delay within my DAW?

    • @sonixinema
      @sonixinema  9 місяців тому +1

      The samples should sync perfectly to the click when using the versions including a rebow. If you're using non-rebow versions then you can always add an offset value on the MIDI track to find the tightness you'd like. If you need more help with this, please email support@sonixinema.com

    Lovely, lovely sounds, but, like someone else commented, swells which re-trigger on every new key press soon start to sound artificial. If you move just a single note within a three or four note chord do all of the samples re-trigger? Also, I guess I must be missing something but why is there such a marked re-bowing point in the 2-bar swells, but nothing noticeable (to me, anyway) in the 1-or 4 bar examples. Thanks.

    • @sonixinema
      @sonixinema  11 місяців тому +1

      Thanks for the kind words! There is a free update for existing users coming very soon that will include the retriggering so that you can change notes mid chord. In regards to the rebowing, this is just the way it was performed, however in the update we're also including a switch which allows you to remove the rebows completely!

    It's beautiful but expensive for 4GB library!!

    • @sonixinema
      @sonixinema  11 місяців тому

      The samples are compressed to lossless ncws - but there's no relation between the number of samples/size of a library and the quality/usability of the sounds :)
