  • Sorry that this video has taken so long... But I have really tested these shoes in a whole range of situations. The Arcteryx Aerios FL Mid GTX has been a great purchase for me and I would happily recommend them to others.

I've been wearing my Arcteryx Aerios GTX fl 2 low for 2,5 years, primarily in autumn/winter/early spring (-20 C to +10 C). Love them! Durable, despite TPU tape peeling off a little (though it doesn't affect waterproofing). Unfortunately, barely wearable in warm weather -- they don't breathe well due to membrane

Thanks for sharing. Good to know you’ve had a good experience with the shoes as well. What shoes do you wear in the summer?

I've got the standard aerios goretex 1 from 3 years ago and got the mid aerios 2 this year. The standard aerios have been incredible and pretty bombproof. Outlasting my ON cloudventure and Salomon alternatives by a mile. The mid aerios 2 seem to have a slightly different material that looks like it won't be as robust. (Fine as yet) Damn warm and sweaty though!!

Hi Craig, thanks for your input. Always great to hear from other people who can also recommend or add their feedback on gear reviews.
Out of interest, how were the ON shoes?

@@Simonjburgess I opted for the waterproof on cloudventure. Very comfortable but not impressed with the durability. The tread is already wearing and holes are forming inside at the heel. My £80 terrex eastrail goretex have been way better quality. I even wore them in work a few years as they were bombproof. I'd only get the ONs in a big sale or something. I've been really impressed with my Nike Pegasus trail 4 goretex. Best of the lot so far. I usually stick to hiking brands but they have been superb. So comfortable.

I stopped using Salomons when discovered these years ago... Salomon is too heavy and sturdy suddenly

Arcteryx Aerios FL Mid Gtx is the most comfortable shoe I have ever worn. They are also the longest lasting shoes ever encountered. The sole has the best quality of rubber there is, so durable and anti slippery. Disadvantages: cold and slippery in winter conditions (the rubber becomes hard and slippery on ice or even snow), plus they wet out when going through wet grass for long enough. @@Simonjburgess

Perfect review… definitely had issues with the wetting out in long grass… besides from that been perfect

Yes! Waterproofing bad, was in long wet grass today and they are absolutely soaked and don’t seem like they’ll get dry any time soon. Unlike any other hiking boot I’ve worn.

How would Salomon and Arc compare size wise?
