Outdoor Master Ultra vs Anon M4
The Anon M4 has been one of my favourite ski goggles for years. With all the tech, magnetic lenses and of course MFI they do however come at a big price.
Over the past couple of seasons I’ve been wearing the Outdoor Master Ultra ski goggles, which also come with tons of tech. The Outdoor Master does come in at a much cheaper price.
In this video, I discuss these two ski goggles and let you know whether I can still recommend the Anon M4 all these years later.

Dare2B Outerwear... it's cheap, but is it any good? | GIVEAWAY!!!
I got spyder leader 30k mm for 170eur, and afterwards got the ad for this jacket and was like wth xD Beginners should 100% get this gear, and i would've probably gotten it if i had heard about it earlier
The newest Smith goggles are great and easy to change lenses. I just upgraded from a pair of Smith goggles just a couple years old. I couldn’t change the lenses on those. So they fixed the issue, plus they look cool!😎
Went snowboarding for the first time today and accidentally got on the lift for intermediate instead of beginner. It was a single chair lift. I fell trying to ride away and the next lift hit me in the back of the head but I was wearing a helmet. Kept falling the entire way down. Kinda helped though the beginner section was easy after that.
Oh dear! Which resort were you snowboarding at?
I am going on a trip with school to snowboard there! Italy is also my home country but im from the south. Greetings from belgium!
Hope you enjoy it!
I love this feeling
The best
The smell when I finally take my pants off
Hi simon, at around the same price after discount, would you recommend these or the outdoor master falcons/ultras? Loving the reviews, thanks!
Hi, for me they are both good options. It’s a shame the OM Ultra doesn’t come with a second Sonar lens as for me that would be a winner. The Ultra is comfortable, has great FOV etc. Powster does represent great value with two Zeiss lenses
Ppl really cant do this😭
Everyday is a school day
are you able to give us the size differences between the two? can't find it anywhere. is the M4 taller AND wider or just taller?
Both. The M4 is a larger frame with a wider FOV. I much prefer the M4, but obviously that comes with a higher price tag as well.
This was April
When is that
April
Hows the Jones been?
@@JizzmasterJ great. Fully recommend
@@Simonjburgess Any plans for a review?
Flagship or Ultra Twin? I’ve done one for the Ultra Twin.
Which would you say has better fov? Thanks for the video
@@Soupy101 Ultra, but both have great FOV
Grand massif or couramayer, la thulle/la rosiere 5 week to decide!!
@@hectorc01 what a decision… I’m never skied La Thuile / La Rosiere. Courmayeur has some great skiing… but Grand Massif is fantastic. Let me know what you decide
Decided on Les Carroz, thanks for all your uploads, will defo be riding your reccomend runs , thanks again 👍🎿🏂
Nice, hope you have the best trip!
Put your arms in man, you're gonna take off 😂
😂😂😂 maybe I should of had the theme tune to Space Jam here instead
Another my kind of place!
It’s so nice
Do you think the snow will be good enough early-mid April this year, particularly lower down? Is Flaine usually snow sure at this time?
@@Vectorio22 this video was filmed in mid April and snow was great. Every season is different but Flaine has a good snow record. The resort of the Grand Massif will be slushy this or indifferent at this time of year (my experience but again… every year is different )
I loved it here! I went with my school about 2/3 weeks ago and I would 100% go back. The instructors are also amazing and really considerate (I sometimes have very poor legs).
Great to hear you had a great time 🙌
but it's safe
Agreed. However I’ve never lost a lens from a magnetic goggle that doesn’t have the latches 🤷♂️ Caution v Convenience It’s just what you want to prioritise
@ i did M4
@ dang must have been some fall. Hope you were ok.
@ yap it was M4 has dam strong mags
Which photocromatic goggles do you recommend?
I’ve only used one. I’ve got the Photochromic lens for the Outdoor Master Ultra and that works really well.
how do you find the overall size of the goggles in terms of wearing with a helmet? Falcon possibly looks more helmet friendly than the Ultra & Pro google, but hard to tell.
@@chris1916v both Ultra and Falcon fit fine with my helmet. I think it’s mainly a style choice. This winter I’m wearing the Ultra more.. last year it was the falcons. Both good options. If buying the Ultra Zeiss I’d pick up a second lens for low light as comes with clear in the box. For me that isn’t the best option.
What helmet is this
@@parky6031 it’s the Diamond MIPS helmet from Outdoor Master. You can Save 15% with code SIM15
Thanks so much for this. Brought back fond childhood memories. I have been skiing/snowboarding there every year when I was a small kid.
You are welcome, I’m glad it evoked good memories. When were you last back?
I recieved a free pair from @BramskiVlogs I'm really liking these. The only issue is getting Zeiss lenses. But you addressed that concern also on his channel. Cheers
Hey Simon. Any recommendations for good value brands of ski wear (jacket+bottoms) for a family of beginners
@@mrtules hey, firstly… beg, borrow, take hand me downs… no real need to spend money on new gear until you are sure you will keep it up. That being said, I tested some Dare2b gear last season and it would be great for your purpose. Affordable but quality enough to do the job! Would def recommend taking a look at their website
serpentine's rollers are some of the funnest, you can fly a good 20 meters or more if you go down with some speed
Yeah that’s true! Can definitely see why it is so popular! Do you have any other favourites?
@@Simonjburgess Also love some you mentioned: Tourmaline for just being able to send it staight down, and méphisto is great for some carving if empty. Love your videos, keep going!
Thank you! Great to have your input as well!
Great video. Can I ask when this was filmed?
Thank you, of course! It was filmed in Jan last year. You heading to the Grand Massif?
@ thanks for the reply. I’ve booked for 4 March. I was surprised by the queues that you mentioned in Flaine. I’ve previously skied Morzine at this time of year. Hopefully as I’ve booked outside UK and French half terms it’ll be ok.
🤞
Nice one, mate. Looks like my kind of place!
Cheers, I really liked it. Hope you can check it out
Marvel is one of my favourite pistes in the whole GM, so much fun to ski
Agreed, and it is such nice scenery surrounded by the trees!
Is the T bar lift new or old? Seems as though they cheaped out on a lift bench to me.
@@jameshunt5316 1975… hazard a guess it’s still in place as the Gemsstock can get windy so allows the lift to keep running. I was impressed with most of the lifts in Andermatt… fast, modern… so there must be a reason to keep it 🤷♂️
Great video, I’m a beginner going on first trip can’t wait. I’ll be on magic carpet then didn’t know that term. So pumped after seeing this .
Amazing! You will have a great time. Let me know your thoughts after your trip. When are you heading out?
Going back to the grand massif for the first time in 9 years, this video is really whetting my appetite
@@WastedYears76 Nice! I’m glad the video can give you some good vibes before your trip! Which village are you staying in?
@ samoens
Nice, I’m a big fan of the Samoëns village. Enjoy your trip!
I wish this were shot in better quality so we could see how steep it is
Yeah, I agree, disappointed with how this looks as a vertical video. Have you seen the full video? Its called Best Blue Runs in Flaine and will be less zoomed in.
Yes a right pain
Fingers crossed they can sort it out!
How does the shoe fit compared to the aerios? I'm considering replacing my aerios with these but I have super wide feet so hoping the Kopec has the same fit?
Im finding mine to be similar in width but my toes are closer to the end in these which isn't ideal so the sizing is different. I would recommend you find a place to try them.
Good evening, I'm from Greece, where can I buy them?
Outdoor Master dot com. Use code SIM15 for discount.
Too bad I can't find the mask. Can you help me in some other way?
My contact said they are redesigning these to make the microchip less visible following feedback. This means they are off the website and currently only a few pairs in their stores. Maybe worth dropping them an email to see if there is a way you can purchase… otherwise might be best to wait for an improved version
watching this bc im missing it, we used to go every year but havent been for 2 years very sad, one thing bad is lack of black runs that are good- ruined it when they removed the chairlift next to keduze tho never had to queue for it and could get up first
also thank god there building a new gron never been on gron and not stopped for 10 mins
I hope you can make it back there!
Et tu crois que tu as plus de neige dans tes connasses de montagne anglaise
❤❤❤just love that place wish to vist it from Uganda
One day maybe!
Definitely need to go here . Right up my street . Cheers pal
Honestly, I loved it! Need to hit it on a powder day ❄️❄️❄️❄️
Great review, heading there in Feb 2025!
Thank you! That’s exciting, snow should be great in Feb. Is it your first trip to Les Carroz?
They make a Smith I/O Mag XL Low Bridge version. But yeah, I think Anon M4 is way better. Plus it has MFI
Yeah it may be worth me trying that, but I’ve never needed low bridge version in any goggle previously… including my other Smith goggles. Thanks for that advice
What would you recommend me buying. I go skiing once a year.
@@Frohop441 I would recommend buying the best goggles you can afford. If you look after them they will last. Are you based in the UK? If so take a look on SportPursuit.com as there are some great offers on there
Saint luc chandolin
@mauriofcb nice! I have a video coming out from there very soon.
Thanks Simon, this video affirmed my purchase and subsequent happiness riding the Mountain Twin @3cm shorter! Love, love love it! You are a great resource, subbing now! Great work!
Thank you. This comment means a lot and I’m glad that you are happy with your purchase!
Main advice IMHO shoul be: don't try to compensate the swinging by turning. Just go with the flow, you'll automatically return on track. If you try to turn, this will soon catch the surface and make you fall.
Yeah good advice, let the lift take you up and keep a flat base. Turning increases the risk of catching an edge.
