Great collection of some very high quality knives. I recently picked up a Esee 4 clip point. The Clip blade is great for scraping fatwood shavings.

bro esee frigging suck, like honestly no disrespect. they suck get a real knife. i cant believe so many people love these bum ass knives. trash. sorry. i owned 4-5 of them they ar MID at best.
I got the Esee 4 hm for camping and have never regretted that purchase. It's accommodated every knife need for me in the woods. Best part is that it helps incentify me to go camping more.
Got a 3 that’s just a general carry hunting camp knife. Two 4s. I find myself using the four so much I had to buy another one, and that just sits in my camper picked up the five instead of the six due to the thickness I do not like overly long knives, but I feel like the five is perfect for chopping.
I have Utica Utk-N2 it’s like the izula 2. It just has a better everything. My thing with esee is the price. I got a mora Garberg for $55 on Amazon an as much as I love that knife I use the BPS adventurer more. I do love coldsteel I have the mini Pendleton hunter. But the master hunter is one I’ve always wanted. It’s just hard to find it in stock in 3v. I’ve been thinking about trying the esee 4hm just hard when you’re going off pictures. The warranty is really nothing I could imagine using. I guess it’s worthwhile if you have a $200 junglus and break it. Just in my 54 years I’ve broken a few knives. Never wanted another of the knife that broke. When something breaks usually somethings wrong why would I want another? Just my two cents
The best for me is Esee 3 (in S35VN) and Esee 6 (regular with 3D handle). Other models have some "problems" for me personaly: RB3 - I dont like scandi and sheath, Izula 2 - to short blade and to thick for me and steel must be non coated stainless, JG3 have not finger guard like on Izula 2 and sheath again, Esee 4HM must have finger guard like on Izula and bit bigger radius for index finger and stainless or at least black oxide finish, for Xancudo I need micarta handle scales, Junglas - just fine :D
I have yet to try the Demko fixed blades. Their folders are fantastic. I think as long as the ergos are good and the rubber they use is tough/ holds up over time, the Demko in magnacut would be the winner for me.
i have esee junglas a esee 4 3d and a laser strike love them ...also both mora garbergs ss and carbon love them plus lotta other moras also buck 119 102 110 light love those to lol ....your opinion garberg vs your scandi esee? and buck 102 vs you esee 3 for hunting ? also if you havent tried the laser strike you need to its a awesome all around blade
Garberg is a better all around bushcraft knife especially for the money. But I do love the compact ESEE RB3. I like the stainless ESEE 3 for deer field dressing. It’s a perfect size for my preference! I haven’t tried the laser strike. I like the hollow handle aspect of it.
Have the original 6, 4hm, and jg3.. looking to add a stainless xancudo soon for hunting. My favorite by far right now is the jg3.. wish they made it in stainless with g10 handles for hunting… such a great blade
Interesting. The only ESEE knives that caught my eye were RB3 and ESEE 5. However, I never pulled the trigger because they would just duplicate some of the knives I already own. Eventually, I acquired new, Made in USA, Libertariat Machette. Now that is an original blade from ESEE.
I want to love Esee more, but there's just better options out there. For US made, you got Architect, which have better steel, handles, sheathes, and almost limitless custom options. Even their 1095 is from Tops, which gives you differential heat treat, so better toughness and edge retention. Otherwise you can choose 3V or Magnacut, all with optimal heat treat from White River and Peter's Heat Treat. So you can essentially have your cake and eat it, and Esee becoming outclassed. Again, I want to love them, and i like the s35vn small blades, but otherwise it's just not it.
Seems like Esee has something going on with price, features and functionality.. you can always spend more but can you get it done better than Esee for less??
@@HighRoad317 I would argue you could. Especially if you're including non US made options, then definitely. But even still, you can build out a US made Architect knife with better steel, handles, and sheath for a very similar price. Maybe slightly more, but not much at all.
@@spectermad9180 I highly suggest you look at the work of Dr. Laren Thomas from Knife Steel Nerds aka the creator of Magnacut. You may change your mind a little on how 5160 performs vs 1095. Cheers

@@sendthis yea sorry man i was rude..... i just really dont like them, like others have said once you use a knife with a good heat treatment great steel and geometry its so hard to go back to 1095 esee and the worthless heat treatment they put on these knives. a better knife can be made with a file and an angle grinder. the heat treatment on a metal file is better than the heat treatment on esee..... i used to love them but like when i got into higher end brands i just look back and im like,,,, dude esee is worthless in comparison. i just got back from PA i took a bravo 1.25 in crew wear. i didnt sharpen it before i went. after 5 days of hard use the edge is the same as when i left....the handle fits your hand like a glove. just saying.

Im glad you mentioned the Master Hunter, some Cold Steel knives are oddly overlooked.
ESEE 4HM in 3V with a 90 degree spine would be pretty ideal. I love my 4HM, but those 2 changes would bring it to the next level.
even in O2 or S35VN would be better
I took a file to the back of mine, problem solved 👍

gotta love the butcher style of the hm handles
My favorite is the 6 because of the balance

ESEE is not interesting. In general, the handles are made in such a way that they get terribly dirty. A knife for people who don't like cleanliness.

I like them all👍 I opted for the Laser Strike as my do all. Wish they made a 3v version then I'd sell my Benchmade Leuku
Buy the Bark River Bravo 1 LT for yourself.
@X Thanks for the suggestion man! Just ordered the Bravo Alpha👊
Checkout Architect knives if you want a 3V Esee. That's basically what they are.

Great discussion, enjoyed the video. Not sure you helped with buying decisions, in fact I’m gonna have to spend more now. Lol. Cheers brother.

Can't go wrong with an ESEE
the thing that annoys me about esee knives is that great big stupid logo on the blade. it ruins the aesthetic of an otherwise nice knife
That's better than a big hole on the blade. 😂
@@OhhKheNhaYhu0:12 0:13 0:13
I like that big logo ! Just a matter of taste
It is an enormous logo and gives a cheezy vibe for sure, I loathe it. I'm guessing their designer drives a "Kid Rock" Firebird. 😂
I'm proud to own an American made, high quality knife I've got no problem with the logo
kinda
5160 Steel is not Better then 1095 Steel....5160 has lower Carbon in the Steel
