Praying safety for you and your family. Winters are long. Not quite ready to plant seeds. Got my outdoor Christmas lights down n put away.
I need to walk during these gloomy days and enjoy reading and cooking. Grandkids 😂

I find walking so uplifting any time of year, but especially now. Thank you so much for the prayers. We so appreciate them.

When I was stationed in Alaska back in the mid 80's we experienced some very bitter cold winters. While in the field for weeks at a time we stayed warm using Yukon stoves in old canvas 10 man tents. It was beautiful but you had to be careful. Water cans were always kept in the tents until it was time to break them down and move. Once at our new location and setup those cans were removed from the Ahkio and put in the tent. During movement we always stipped down to one or two layers of light clothing as a 10 or 15 degree warming would make it feel like summer LOL. Cabin fever was very real in Alaska. Bright lights everywhere helped but folks just had to brave the cold and get outside. Folks from the lower 48 that really didn't like the cold didn't last too long. The soldier would be left behind as his wife and kids would leave and he would be without them until his tour was up. Love Datil pepper sauce. I'm also starting onions from seed too. After a week I have some begining to sprout. I have them on seed mat warmers. I have 10 young moringa trees. They die back each year from the cold but I pile lots of loose leaves on them and they're able to come back...I'm in Zone 8b. A gardner friend of mine gave me 3 seed long seed pods. Dried them out for two months and then opened the pods to further dry the seeds. If you need some let me know as I have more than I can use.

What a lovely comment. Thank you. Yes I imagine it was so hard for those men to be far away from family and in such a brutal climate. I am so thankful for all the men and woman who do this for our country. Brave souls. Thank you as well for your service.
Good to know someone can stand the pepper. LOL. I'm sure my friends will love it. Blessings on your seedlings and garden this year. Do you have dwarf moringa or standard sized? Thank you for the seed offer!! Hopefully mine will sprout and grow well this time.

@@EsthersEden My moringa are probably standard size. I hope this year I'll get a better harvest from them. Since they're still young and only 4 feet tall there's not much to eat yet.

I took advantage of the bitter cold last weekend and organized my seeds. It made me feel really good for a while, but then I remembered how far away garden season is. I moved here from Oklahoma 10 years ago and the winter is still really hard. Snow is just not something I'm used to dealing with for any length of time. I'm about to get a few seeds started and that always helps. I grew those petunias last year and we loved them! They are so beautiful and smell really good. Any tips for starting Rosemary? I had no issues growing it in Oklahoma, but I struggle to grow it here. Also, I'm dying to know, how did you save the elderberry seed, and what do you think was wrong with the elderberries last season? I have several areas I forage, and all the plants looked terrible. I went to Oklahoma in June and the black elderberry there was ultra prolific. They were growing along every road and in every pasture. The umbrellas of elderflowers were huge! I've never seen anything like it, and I got so excited to come home and forage... I was greatly disappointed.

Keep up the faith. I'm an Idaho native and still find winters hard. LOL. Great questions! I will answer them in an upcoming video 😃

5:47…I think your grouse landed lol
Nastusium…I’ll bet you $5 you have a bunch pop up where you had them. I always say…plant them once & you have seeds/plants for life lol
Morinaga is a more warm climate plant..isn’t it? Im excited to see if it works for you! 😊
Ive been waiting for the crazy cold to pass so I can start seeds. I may have to break down & give up my dining room area lol

I saw that during editing. I didn't even know the bird was there still. Ha ha ha!! Sneaky little thing. So far Nasturtium have not reseeded in my garden. Not even my greenhouse. I'd be shocked and delighted if they did! Moringa - yes warm lover. Just for indoors. I gave up my kitchen table lol. So worth it. Going to get the grow lights and heat mat out!

Is the Moringa for you, animals or both? I might try as I have heard about it but didn’t think it would grow here.

Depends on how big it gets... most likely for us for smoothie powder. I will add it to my super green powder I make. It will only grow as an annual or greenhouse/house plant.
