I just installed my alpha series 10 inch hand guard however I kept my cleaning rod in place. I love the look of it, i had to cut the difference off from where it now stopped due to the change and then cut it off nearly in half almost but I put it back with one tap of the mallet into the half circle that was left on the inside for it to sit in enough. If you wanna keep the look i highly recommend 👍🏽
@@jackintrades yes sir, just a clear recap. I placed the rod as far down until I had a visual where it stops, you’ll see the thread end hit in the hole but it’ll be blocked slightly, that little bit of space will be enough to hold it in place, at the same time get a sharpie to mark where the top end would sit in place, the end with the thick box end with the hole. Then take the rod out to double check if you do cut the new piece matches up potentially. Then after you cut put the new cut piece in hopefully it’s a tight fit if you didn’t cut too much, once I tapped it in it fit snug. It’s definitely useless but it’ll remain that classic look. It can be done 👍🏽 but yes you’re welcome boss.
