Awesome technique! I was dreading this project but now I think I got this using this technique. Again thanks for recording this video. I know the time it takes.

Wondering if I remove the heat shield, could I put the cleaning rod back?? Looks like the heat shield screws blocked the rod.

Also, I don’t believe you had to shave it down like that. I’ve had a few of my AK’s with after market dust covers & a quick tap with a rubber mallet always got it on snug 👍🏽 just a tip for your next one.

I got it boss, I had to modify it just a bit. 🫡

Nice video man, however on my behalf I cannot get the last part. The piece that slides the dust cover in my holes aren’t lining up. The half circle isn’t sitting in the other half circle to where the holes align. Idk what to do lol

Pepper doesn't work....try peppermint oil instead. Mix with water and mist under hood, wheel wells, and shocks/struts.

Nice video, but I wanted to let you know that you can put the water holes right against the aluminum fins as long as the pressure isn't too high and it will not bend them. Also only spray from inside the unit otherwise your just pushing the dirt back in. I had to do my father's unit that was installed 5 years ago and has never been cleaned. When I open it up I couldn't believe how dirty it was there was like a quarter inch of lint and dirt that I could pull off in sheets on the whole unit.😂 I had to go over it twice but it look new after I was done.

I just installed my alpha series 10 inch hand guard however I kept my cleaning rod in place. I love the look of it, i had to cut the difference off from where it now stopped due to the change and then cut it off nearly in half almost but I put it back with one tap of the mallet into the half circle that was left on the inside for it to sit in enough. If you wanna keep the look i highly recommend 👍🏽
