Thanks for the video and how funny that the person in the car wanted a shout-out. People almost 100% ignore me when I am out filming. At best, they ask me what I am doing. I think in 10 years it has only happened to me once! Audio is such an interesting topic and one that I didn't pay enough attention to for many years.
I prefer to use the Zoom F2 audio recorder with the included lav mic for work or the Rode Wireless Go + Rode Go lav mic. I have recently created a secondary live setup for d&d sessions and here I use an old Rode Video Micro and I was surprised by the quality. On-camera microphones have their place and the one you talked about in the video seems to be pretty sophisticated. I like the anc feature for vlogging but I would probably invest the money in the Zoom F2 + a decent lavaliere instead.

2ndary mic input is a great feature. Thought it would have handled the vibration noise better with the ANR feature.

Is the ext lab mic feature compatible with Go Pro hero 11?

To be honest, I vlog with a cheap $20 wired lav and I find the audio quality to be more than acceptable for my vlogs - even in windy conditions. Yes, expensive wireless options offer marginally better audio, but I can’t justify the extra expense until I reach monetization

If you had to choose one would it be the Joby mic or the setup from DJI (as they are priced comparably)? Thanks.

Ooohhh… tough question. If I’m primarily vlogging on my own or with a partner and just want our dialogue, I’d go with DJI because they’re lav mics good at catching closeup audio. But if filming a fast paced video with a crowd or a scene with lots of people and ambient sounds to capture, the Joby, as a shotgun mic would excel more in those situations.

I really despise app dependant hardware, I understand the need for an app when space for physical controls is limited, but this trend of app dependant pieces of hardware are spreading everywhere. All that I can see is early planned obsolescence, once either your phone is no longer compatible or the brand drops development of the app consumers will be stuck with something that only does half of what's advertised if even half.
The same goes for built-in batteries, it doesn't take much engineering to add replaceable batteries in many of these electronics, it isn't like it's certified waterproofed to need a sealed internal battery.
Enough with my rant 🤣🤣 interesting mic, competition is great for consumers
My Rode Videomicro 1 still does awesome 140dB SPL still leading in the category 😎🎙️🎤🎚️🎛️
