I've been to Alaska 5 times from 1968 to 1989. The first was in a 1966 Bronco which leaked air through the back seal so bad we taped a sheet of plastic over the whole back end on the inside. The last time was in a 1985 Honda Civic base HB with a 60 hp 1.3L that averaged nearly 45 mpg with 3 people & a tiny trailer for camping gear in tow. We spent a total of $150 for gas in `89!!! The Alcan hiway was 1300 miles of gravel in 1968 but had only 100 miles of gravel 21 years later. Ah, the memories!!!

Who would’ve thought an old track build Evo (with the spring lowered because of cyber bullying) would be more reliable than a practically brand new STI
To be fair, the EVO has been built for a while, don't know if it had any issues when first built though. Building an STi and not tightening an oil hose enough? that's down to incompetent mechanics, and no proper alignment after lowing is his own fault, literally everything that went wrong was because of modifications, no fault of Subaru. But Mitsubishi does build better cars.
I hope you get out of the Philippines which is the communist country I really hope you come somewhere that's meaningful instead of living under a dictatorship

Ahh, well based on your sponsorship, I went to Advance Auto got something, google said they were open but they were closed early today - disappointed but understandable being short staffed. Thank you for the signage that let me know, it was so appreciated!
I've been sick for a couple weeks which gave me time to binge all of the road trips, the timing of this one was perfect. Everything from the cinematography to silly segments was great. After watching the all 50 states round trip, I totally forgot you'd have to drive back after hitting AK lol.
10-12k for 2 sports cars across the US & Canada, that is pretty decent. Considering the fact that your cars were absolute monsters in fuel consumption & also the amount of days you spent. No trip can be as fun, adventurous & scenic like these ones. Great to watch these trips
Great video! I drove this route many years ago and did drive up the Dalton Highway in my Corolla up to the Arctic Circle. And while the Dalton Highway isn't paved it was very smooth and in better shape than many of the paved roads along the way. I was very surprised and my lowered 2009 Corolla on BC coiliovers handled it just fine. You both would have been okay. Maybe that needs to be the next trip to Alaska, you go to Fairbanks and north from there! Another tip, if you can fit everything inside the car without using a roof rack you will save a boatload of money on gas! It looks like you both had plenty of room in the backseat still although I'm not sure how much space was available in the trunk.
This was so much fun to watch! Everything about this trip was simply perfect. Massive respect for the video editing, drone shots and the good vibes throughout the series.

They are akin to Top Gear episodes for all the right reasons and I cannot thank you enough for doing these. What an awesome series! I watched your first Alaska trip during lockdown and wanted to go on a road trip in the USA my self so bad! This summer we finally did our road trip, 4500 miles through the USA. So getting to see your new one after doing it myself just makes me enjoy it way more! These videos have always been really inspiring, now here I am at 19 beginning my own UA-cam journey. I’m from the Seattle area and always have wanted to see more of this amazing country. In the near future hopefully we will do Alaska to California. Anyways, hats off to the Bens, Luke, Mark and the rest of the Gears and Gasoline team.
so glad u guys re-attempt. One of th best prelockdown adventure and now complete. However love to see an episode where you guys given the knowledge of this and pick vehicles that is decked out with the most durable and comfortable to travel in...
You guys should defo drive from Key West to Prudhoe Bay. You'd definitely need a tow rated support vehicle and a lot of planning, but it would be so crazy to take inappropriate cars up the Dalton Highway. Loved the series. Cinematography is so high quality and the narrative is top notch
Also the pull over at 31:00, we also have that in the US. If passing a pulled over emergancy vehicle you must change lanes or be going 20 under the posted limit. Cool trip!

In UK we are currently paying around $8 a gallon and that is in a West Yorkshire town, not the back of beyond... but this is cheaper than it's been in a while 😧
Man I gotta say. Throughout this series I REALLY loved Shorter Ben's outlook on everything. Positive all the time and very much so enjoying life. Mad respect. I'm happy covid didn't take you. Keep the vibes up 🙏🏿
Yeah I noticed throughout the series tall Ben didn’t seem as excited and happy as short ben
@@liambinno4942 na, tall Ben is way better vibes imo
you guys made it thanks for this road trip soo good bring more like this road trips stay safe GG
thanks advanced auto parts! great series fosho
thank you guys sooo much for doing these, and making these videos for us. I don't do road trips like these as often as I wish I could, mostly just a couple hours here and there, so I live vicariously through these road trip videos. The videography is as always, incredible.
I loved the sign post park. It was amazing looking around it. Just a tip, add the octane booster before filling up to mix it up better. I love seeing all the places that I remember from my trip. I just want to go do it again. I actually drove the Dalton Highway north from Fairbanks up to the Arctic Circle. Amazing!
When he said Chris fix i damn near lost it 😂
Ben and Luke jamming in the car had me dying haha!
Great series as always! Keep it up!
One of the best car series I've seen for a while. I just couldn't watch only 1 episode...had to watch them all in one go. Did a nice roadtrip in Europe (6500 kms) but it feels like nothing compared to yours. Well done guys!
Absolutely love watching these road trip videos. Love the views and commentary. Can’t wait to see what’s next!
This is one of best series I’ve ever watched on any platform. You guys deserve more appreciation. Best of luck guys!
Thanks Advance and the guys for the videos. Properly enjoyable viewing.
Would be great to see a little more behind the scenes on what it takes to make a video like this. The planning, contingencies and places you stay.
Oh, and take a tow rope next time!
These videos make me want to try risky road trips with my best friend!
And that is the highest possible compliment I can give! They are akin to Top Gear episodes for all the right reasons and I cannot thank you enough for doing these.
I hope you have as much fun on these trips as we have watching them and that you will continue doing it.
One of my goals is to drive from Michigan to Alaska
The furthest drive I've made so far is from Michigan to Glacier NP - Montana
Will forever be on the look out for all the future road trip series! Advance Auto, please sponsor more!
What an awesome series! I watched your first Alaska trip during lockdown and wanted to go on a road trip in the USA my self so bad!
This summer we finally did our road trip, 4500 miles through the USA. So getting to see your new one after doing it myself just makes me enjoy it way more! What an amazing experience it must have been!
I love these road trips! I binged watched them all once I discovered the channel. Hope you guys keep them coming! On a side note, you guys should use VP Octanium as an octane booster. It’s probably the best octane booster out there.
I forget a simple mountain is unusual people from the East! Seeing the excitement over mountains and wildlife has allowed me to take a second look at what surrounds me every day!
Most favorite and "reliable" Bens ever! 3 episodes are not enough. We could go a whole season of 24 episodes. Much Love for you guys!
You guys are awesome to watch, educational, enjoyable, inspirational... Big thanks for providing us with the vids!!
Thank you Advance Auto Parts. These road trips are my favorite videos Gears & Gasoline makes, so thanks for sponsoring them.
As a person who has done this trip, I enjoyed watching this series a lot.
Cool trip!
